Had steak and was fabulous, great presentation as well with grea staff
My husband and I recently had dinner here on a business trip. I have to say it was beyond our expectations. loved our dinners and wine and our server Adam was awesome. We will return!!!
We recently took some friends out for dinner and it was a wonderful experience. The food was fabulous and the service unmatched. We'll be back.
Great meal and service tonight as usual! One of our favorite places in Missoula!
Great food and exceptional service by Randell. We had the evening special which was prepared in an excellent manner. The serving size was very adequate and the presentation enhanced the meal. The martinis were great! We frequently eat at he Blue Canyon even though it is about a 45 mile drive from where we live.
Been here before, but must say that this time around was better. Good food, good service, just a good place to go. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to ear.
A great meal that was not your run of the mill steak and potato meal, and I was glad for it! I would recommend it to my friends, but not all of them have the taste that my wife and I do.
Our server was most gracious in helping us select a very delightful dinner. He had a gentle sense of humor which lighten the dining atmosphere. The server was professional and appeared to take pride in serving us. We will not be able to return for a year but we are already looking forward to enjoying another dinning experience with you.
This was our second Easter brunch at Blue Canyon, where my wife and I go for special occasions. I thought the bunch was overpriced at $32.95. While the cuts of ham, lamb and prime rib are obviously expensive, there was much other food on the buffet that is certainly less expensive to prepare. Service was excellent as always at Blue Canyon, but there wasn't much bang for the buck. We won't be going back next Easter.
I made reservations for 7:45pm several days in advance of my desired date. We arrived about 10 minutes early and were told that things were running late and to expect to be seated well after our reserved time of 7:45. It was suggested that we go to the bar. We walked past at least 7 empty tables on our way to the bar. The bar was completely full. We sat in the bar waiting for our table. For 40 minutes we were never approached by a single member of the staff to ask if we wanted anything. Other tables around us that were more aggressive received 3-4 visits and interactions from the wait staff, but never once were we even approached. My wife, who really wanted a drink, asked one member of the wait staff for assistance. She said she would return for our order. She never did in the entire time we sat in the bar. When we were seated at a table it was again a long wait until our waitress came to help us. She took our drink order and left. 20 minutes later she returned to ask me for clarification on my drink. Another solid 10 minutes later, making it close to an hour and a half until we received our first served item. Our appetizer came around 15 minutes later and the rest of our food shortly after that. The waitress was unskilled at public speaking or perhaps even new to this restaurant. She didn't pronounce some of the food items correctly and when asked a question, she actually took the menu in her hands to read it off, obviously not knowing what was on it. M'any of the other staff seemed tense and "put out'. Less than half ever had a smile on their face.
The host was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed at the crowd. It appeared there was not enough staff to handle the customer load.
I must say that all of the food was top notch. I haven't a single criticism of the food in any way. It was skillfully prepared and of the highest quality ingredients . My hats off to the kitchen staff.
Our first time at Blue Canyon. We had a very good dinner and were very please with our server. It was very busy at the restaurant, but the server was always right there to help us.
Great food and service. Our table was ready as promised at the time we requested. Service was exceptional.
The bison chili and lobster bisque for starters were just right. We both had the filet mignon that was cooked perfect and very tender. My wife orders her's medium well and it was just fine. Roasted carrots were a great touch. One thing, we had to ask for our bread basket, but that was very minor compared to the rest of the meal and service.
It's not an overly fancy restaurant, and the menu is limited - but those are good things. Sometimes the menus of a higher priced restaurant have too many choices for me - This wasn't like that. the menu was reasonable and had good items. The food was good (would have been nice to have been served some bread) and the portions were good, too. Our waiter was helpful and prompt. The only drawback was being seated in a corner and the table next to us was loud, but it was a busy night.
Food and service were excellent. My wife's filet was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My pheasant breast was excellent. We are frequent customers and will return again soon. We tell our friends about it. It is a 100 mile round trip drive for us to eat here, but well worth it.
I took an out of town guest to Blue Canyon for dinner. The staff was welcoming and sat us at a table by the fireplace. The menu offers a good variety of options, and the food was excellent. The refined rustic decor was relaxing after a busy day. Great experience.
Service was excellent, food was okay but the noise level was too high.
Our server was excellent!! He was helpful, appreciative and knowledgable. I will certainly come back the next time I am in Missoula!
Dined here the other night (June 10) and were most impressed.
Slick service from a very knowledgeable waiter and great food too.
My wife is still raving about the Bison Pot Pie, and my Rib Eye was cooked to perfection.
With a pretty comprehensive wine list on offer we'll be back here again the next time we are in Missoula.
We've been happy to visit the Blue Canyon for special occasions. We've had great brunches, a first-class Christmas meal, etc. It's just a first-rate place to go in Missoula
This restaurant was by far the best I have been to in a very long time me and my boyfriend went for Valentine's Day and although it was really busy The hostess was well mannered and even though we didn't get seated right away they took us to the bar and we ordered drinks the meal was amazing and it wasn't that badly priced either I would recommend this place as a special occasion dinner for a brunch get together you'll enjoy the energetic atmosphere and you can actually watch them cook your food right there and it's very high-quality food. I will definitely be going back there
We were seated at 7:50 for our 7:30 reservation. We were seated at the bar for 10 minutes before we were asked for our drink order. Every step of the way we had to wait an excessive amount of time. We had to share a butter knife between us. I had a steak. Our water glasses were empty for extended periods of time. We even asked for water and the waiter returned with the bill and no water. Terrible service this time, but great service in the past.
We dine here regularly and have never been disappointed. The trout is one of my favorites and the service is outstanding.
This restaurant was a nice place for me and my wife to enjoy our evening. The large fireplace set a nice relaxing mood in a large lodge-type restaurant. The bread was outstanding. I had a tasty Bison Pot Pie which was served in a cast-iron pan. My wife loved the bacon wrapped tri-tip which was served on a bed of mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Service began slow but was perfectly fine after we received our drinks. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Very nice atmosphere with very nice menu selection.
Service was very good and server very personablee.
Heavy butter. You can tell everything comes off the Sysco truck. Not a lot of flavor difference between the three meals we ordered. Salty and rich are how I would have described the taste of everything. Missoula boasts some really quality restaurants. I did not find what i was looking for here.
Great food , however, our waiter was very young. It took three other wait staff to get our food and drinks to us.
What a disappointment! This place is right off the highway, attached to a casino and on the grounds of a Hilton(?). We should have known as soon as we drove up that it wasn't anything more than a decent place for people traveling through. Should we return to Missoula, we'll stir clear of this place.
The food here is great. I love the fact that they serve Montana specific dishes and the decor definitely lended to that. The service was a little off kilter. Our server was very nice but almost seemed a little spacey. She brought me the wrong soup and I sat without water for about 20 minutes after I asked for a refill. Maybe she was just having an off night.
Awesome restaurant!! Adam was our server and he was amazing! The food was outstanding! Definitely going back again.
We were very pleased with everything about the Blue Canyon. The service from the entire staff was probably even better than the food, which is one heck of a compliment, seeing as how the food was superb!
Food, was great, our server was awesome, atmosphere was very authentic and romantic. I was surprissed at the final bill, a lot less than I had anticipated, considering the quality and ambiance.
I had made the reservation at 10:30 for 2 people and they put us at a very small table sandwiched between 2 large tables. There were several tables empty that were larger and I felt the need to ask for a different table, which they gladly did accomodate. I am sure it helped in making it a nice experience. I believe the tiny 2 person tables work nicely for cocktails only, not for a meal. Too little space for plates, drinks, etc.
Tasha was a wonderful server and we were honored by the visit from Chef Ben.
It would be nice if they served Lunch. My wife and I used to go in a couple times a week for lunch.
The free scallop appetizer was luke warm when we got it at the table, otherwise oustanding food.
Decent food, nice place, good service, but way overpriced. $14.00 for an ordinary Burger and fries and $25.00 for a 8oz cheap cut of steak is ridiculous.
Was more than impressed with the quality of food and the way it was cooked and the service we received. The best we've had, probably ever.
The first time around the elk medallions were over cooked and tough, after sending them back they came out swimming in oil and tough. The rest of my party said that their meals were very good. I have had good meals here in the past, I chalk it up to a bad night in the kitchen. They tried to make it up by comping some of the drinks.
For the price of the food it was good but not outstanding.
