West Coast Seafood Chowder
wild salmon + cod + mussels + clams + shrimp
Baked Canoe Crab Dip
roasted garlic + parmesan filoncini crostinis
crisp romaine hearts + grated parmesan + fried capers + focaccia croutons
Had a memorable very tasty meal. And the service was really lovely. King crab was outstanding, filet cooked perfectly, prawns delicious. Loved all the appys as well.
I only deducted a star as their crab dip is not at all, what it once was. The crab dip ironically was what made me want to make this trip out. As it stands now, I personally would not order it again. But everything else, brava!!
Thanks for always topping our champagne...and being so attentive. I must compliment the great martinis as well. Thank you for a great few hours reprieve during these challenging times!
Always a great experience at the Blue Canoe
Great food and picture perfect location
Great place to go
I love this place! Great neighbourhood gem.
Always great food, great scenery & great service!
Portion size was ridiculously small. Had the sable fish, it was literally two bites or the fish, and 2 spoons of risotto.
The chocolate cake with Chantilly cream was super heavy and sweet, I took one bite and was done. Appetizer was also super tiny, had the lobster crab croquettes, was 3 bite sized squished ball with a small bit of arugula salad. My bf had the seafood pasta dish, it's literally seafood mixed with pasta and tomato sauce, flavour was like old spaghetti factory, but way smaller in portion size, the clams had sand in still. Overall, very disappointing.
Went for dine out menu to try a new place. Portions were sooooo tiny, like extremely small. Pasta tasted like it was cheap sauce fr a jar with overcooked seafood. Sable fish was cooked well. Hadn’t finished my appetizer, when main dish arrived and dessert quickly followed. Don’t plan to return.
Food was good but the value for Dine Out was not good. Very small portions!
Overall really enjoyed the atmosphere, the croquettes need seasoning but the sable fish with lobster risotto was amazing topped off with the chocolate cake with cream. Happy hour sangria was so good. Service was great and the staff is so nice!
Dine out Vancouver menu was fantastic!! My short rib was melt in your mouth and my husbands sable fish was perfect! Covid has made dining out stressful but we loved every minute!!
Everything was excellent! We were also able to eat on the deck which was great on a sunny almost Spring day.
Fabulous food, fantastic service! Always an awesome experience!
The dine out menu read much better than it was. The salad nicoise was very underwhelming, no greens and very small. The mains were very tasty and a little small that was good considering how rich the desert was. I prefer two courses, larger sizes and optional discount on dessert.
Noise level was too high. I was almost shouting at my tablemate as the evening progressed (we left at 7:30).
Happy to lunch here. The Ocanagan Spring Lager was served perfectly.
Dine out was a disappointing experience. Food not great in selection & taste.
Very disappointed with the lack of flavour and the small portion sizes. Went for Dine out. The premise of dine out is to bring new customers in to ‘wow’ them so they continue to come back. They missed the mark. We had the salmon Filo was on the smaller side with virtually no romesco sauce so it made it very blan. We also ordered the sablefish, Maybe a 2 ounce piece and the lobster and prawn risotto only had a small tail piece of prawn. Overall very disappointing.
Good food, but we were seated outside and even with the balcony closed off, we could feel the draft making us super cold.
We felt the portions were small, service was sporadic, COVID distancing was good
Went for the dine out menu and it was delicious. I didn’t like their cocktail drinks though.
We did dine out. The portion was a bit small but the food tastes good
Wonderful lunch! What a great treat to sit ‘outside’ in February!
The sliders were particularly good and the service was impeccable! Thank you Johnny!
The Blue Canoe Waterfront Restaurant had a very nice ambiance and made us very cozy. The host and waitress were kind and accommodating to our requests. However, the dine-out menu did not meet my mother's expectations nor mine as the entree was lacking in flavour. She ordered the sockeye salmon filo en route spinach and I ordered the wild seafood pappardelle. We both felt that these plates needed more seasoning whether that be salt&pepper, some citrus component, or herbs (or all of the above). As for the desserts, we both got the salted caramel cheesecake. The cheesecake itself was good, but they overloaded the top with caramel which really overpowered the dessert. We had to remove most of the topping off. With all this in consideration, this review results in a 3 out of 5 stars.
Food & service was excellent!👍🏻👍🏻
Good service and food. The restaurant followed COVID-19 safety protocols.
Lovely sitting by the river. The overhead heaters are good.
We went for the dineout Vancouver menu which was $39pp.
For appetizers my husband and I had the seafood chowder and the crab and lobster croquettes. The croquettes (3pcs) were quite bland but the chowder was tasty. Because I also wanted to try the chowder, I ordered one from the regular menu which cost $12. It's the same size as from the dineout menu and it was SMALL, really small for $12. For entrée we ordered the sablefish risotto, which was very small portioned. I had the seafood pappardelle it was more pasta than seafood. It was so bland and not tasty!
The dessert was truffle chocolate cake which feels like was bought from a supermarket rather than made in-house. For reference, husband had a diet coke and I had just water. We left with a bill of $120 after tips and was not satisfied!
Overall all the items were very under-seasoned and small portioned. Would NEVER go again and WILL NOT recommend to my friends.
We went for Dine Out Vancouver 3 course menu. I chose the seafood pappardelle and the noodles were good and sauce great. Not much seafood two mussels, 2 tiny clams, 2 med size scallops and a trace of calamari. Not impressed. My husband chose the sable fish, tiniest piece of fish ever served to us. The two options for desserts tasted really "premade" not enjoyable. Perhaps food other that that offered with set menu would be better. I can't leave my review at that because the service was wonderful!
First time at this restaurant for dine out as my friend recommended. Food is great especially the seafood chowder. Will go again!
Enjoyed the view, the friendly service and delicious lunch. We were enjoying our outing as a novelty getaway experience from the everyday Vancouver routine.
Visited during Dine out 2021. The $39 menu has great value and the food was great. The sable fish is grilled to perfection and chowder is excellent.
We sat at the patio and got a great view of the water.
Definitely will be back again!
Excellent food and service. Our go to restaurant .
Good service with nice food and fantastic view
Food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Ambience was very beautiful with views of waterfront
Very nice servers. Excellent food and value for Dine Out.
Nice waterfront setting. Good food and very good service. We sat at the terrace (enclosed) with overhead heater. It was a bit hot and we asked to turn it off and they did.
Small portions for the price
Love this restaurant for special occasions. The view is amazing and the service and care during these times has been perfect.
This is one of my go to places. Always great.
