The food is excellent, the service was outstanding (even at pre-pandemic expectation levels) and we enjoyed our meal a lot. We chose to eat outside, and they did the best they could in setting up seating. However, it is tables in the parking lot. I am sure the ambiance inside is superior. We will definitely be back.
The food here was quite good, if overpriced--and taking nearly an hour after we were seated to deliver our entrees was distressing. The service would best be described as indifferent. This was our second visit and a marked contrast to the first. Overall a disappointing experience and we're in no hurry to return.
Delicious scallops! The salad with cantaloupe was a great combo. We shared the profiteroles and they were divine-thank goodness for the spoons! Never disappointed at the Blue Bottle!
Great food and service. Second time eating there. Will definitely go back again.
Food is always outstanding. The service is always good, but you could tell they were a little short staff.
The food was excellent. Will definitely be back again when the menu changes.
Thank you for your favorable review, the menu will change gradually as the farmers run out of peppers, squash, and tomatoes... We expect a full transition to the fall dishes within the next 2 weeks, but Mother Nature is our guide, and the weather is holding, so we won't leave them behind after the disastrous year that we all experienced due to covid. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
We were seated right on time and had our choice of dining rooms. Our waitress was the best! Very efficient, friendly and informative.Food was spectacular, especially all the yummy flavors and sauces! Our green salads were huge and had an assortment of delicious additions. Mine had a creamy onion sauce which was really good. Our main dishes- veal and steak -5 stars!
Thank you. The veal chop was an OTT (over the top) special that I am so glad to here EVERYONE enjoyed. Stay tuned for more awesome and creative combinations to tantalize your palate... The new menu rolls out over the next two weeks and from what he's told me thus far, you won't be disappointed.
This place is the best restaurant in the area! Go to that place as soon as you can and can still sit outside and enjoy dinner there. (They have heaters by the tables.). The food is delicious!
We always have a lovely, thoughtful meal at The Blue Bottle Cafe and this time was no exception. The menu changes seasonally and we were able to get the tail end of the summer menu with octopus apps, a pork loin with clams and a chicken dish prepared with spaetzle fondue. The service is always excellent and one of the owners usually checks on every table and will remember you for your next visit. The passion clearly shows. We always wish we could lick our plates and sometimes do. It is also BYOB which is always a plus.
Great local spot. On our go to list. BYOB is nice too! Thank you!
Always excellent food and service in a series of small connected rooms. Simple desserts and great bread service. Highly recommended. Neighborhood Gem!
Wonderful food. Highly recommend.
Outstanding Norwegian Salmon!
Even more outstanding dessert (pastry chef in-house).
We really enjoy Blue Bottle. I made a mistake and showed up 30 minutes early, they were totally accomodating and gave us a great table. The food never disappoints.
First time back since the pandemic started and it was amazing! The Summer bruschetta appetizer was delicious as was the salmon entree and chocolate pot du creme for dessert. Can’t wait to go back. Forgot how fantastic their fresh bread is as well!!
Chef Aaron's food is outstanding. Just a slendor of flavors, textures, and eye appeal. Great service and attention from the service staff.
We LOVE Blue Bottle Cafe!!!!
The food met its usual very high standards. The portions are good and the service was very good indeed. It is always very good value with the chef choosing many unusual flavors in the main dishes.
Hands down, the best restaurant in NJ. Cuisine is off the charts. Service is consistently great. Run, don’t walk.
We dined outside and the food and service were excellent. Tables outside are limited. The Octopus appetizer was excellent. We had the chicken and steak for our main course and both were excellent
Food was delicious. Interesting ingredients and menu was very interesting. Because no liquor license bill was very reasonable. Only downside was ambiance (eating in parking lot). Service was adequate, though not helpful in describing some of the ingredients in meal.
Overall would highly recommend
Always a fabulous meal with friendly service.
Can’t wait to go back!
The food was excellent! Would highly recommend this restaurant. The owner is very friendly as well.
I've been very lucky in life to have been able to to eat at many of the finest restaurants not only in the US but in Europe, e.g. Per Se, Jean George, The French Laundry and Tailevent (Paris). And others of that ilk. And the meal four of us had last night at Blue Bottle compares very well in terms of the food (fortunately not the price). I was so impressed that I asked if I could meet the chef (Aaron) and was taken back to the kitchen so that I could express my compliments. That's something I had never done before in my life. In particular, three of the four of us had the scallop entree and it was outstanding, And the fact that it's BYOB makes it even better in terms of overall value. So don't walk, run to Blue Bottle for a great meal.
We enjoyed a delicious meal and definitely will go back.
The Griggstown chicken and the spaetzle pilsner-raclette is an amazing entrée. There are wonderful contrasts of tastes and textures that make this a very creative dish. My starter was the poached shrimp and local heirloom tomatoes. All told, this was an awesome combination, especially with my white Bordeaux that accompanied both courses.
One of the best all around especially in food and service. This is our umpteenth visit with the same results. Not Ritz Carleton, no foo foo attitude but prompt and friendly service and steady and occasionally spectacular cooking. Enjoyed the appetizers, main courses and simple but tasty desserts. Bring your own makes the wine pairing entirely up to you. We chose a zesty cremant and an astonishing Brunello from the cellar. Short story: hidden gem, great value. Please go!
We haven’t been to Blue Bottle Cafe since pre-covid times and were thrilled to find it hospitable and the food delicious. Dined outside in the front patio area which was fine and this was the day after the horrendous hurricane Ida! Great server, I’m sorry can’t recall her name. From complimentary bread, to their famous salad, to entrees all were terrific! And you cannot beat BYOB! Alas, no room for dessert. Portions are generous. We shall be back!
Our dinner was excellent the owner and hostess both acknowledged our wedding anniversary. We had the octopus appetizer which was out of this world and also had the lamb kebab it was superb. My wife had the salmon entrée and I had the pork entrée both home runs. We finished out the wonderful evening with the peach cake dessert it was incredible.
Outstanding service and excellent cuisine--my salmon was amongst the best that I have ever had anywhere. Especially laudable was that the ambience and service remained solid and of very high quality through some of the worst weather conditions that constantly threatened (endless warnings of severe floods and tornadoes). Had a great time (my wife's birthday) with all of the other diners who dared to come out in what can only be described as terribly inclement conditions.
The food never ever disappoints! I have come here for years and never had a bad meal! I love this place and will always come back here!
Food was unique and delicious. Scallop entree featured yellow squash fritters (yummy), pickled peaches and baby beets (an unusual and perfect combination)!
Hard decision when ordering dessert. Try the profiteroles filled with sea salt caramel ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. Outstanding!
The food and the service are always outstanding at the blue bottle cafe. It’s a must visit if in the area. Definitely make reservations to ensure a table.
Food was very good; service spotty--never quite sure who was waiting on us.
Two words: PHENOMENAL food!!!
Tons of flavor, fresh, cooked with care and passion. A must try place regardless the distance.
Everything was amazing start to finish. The most delicious food with interesting flavor profiles that you can’t get just anywhere. Fresh food. Wonderful service. Busy but not noisy. Cool location. Can’t say enough good things. Definitely will go back!
Had a wonderful dinner to celebrate our daughter’s first home. The food delicious, the service outstanding and the ambiance perfect. Every dish that came to our table was perfectly prepared and beautifully plated. Very creative cuisine with fresh ingredients. Their desserts are award worthy! Don’t miss this gem.
This is a stand-out in terms of inventive entrees in the area The scallops and flatiron steak were the best we've ever had. What a marvelous chef! The waitstaff is attentive, and the ambiance is quaint and lovely.
The food is fantastic - it's so good that you could go for a fun evening with a group of friends, or a special romantic evening - the food is both creative and elegant. Order the octopus!
