Celebration dinner for my wife's birthday and a place we often treat for special moments. Have stayed here in the past for overnight's, including New Years Eve, which also happens to coincide with our wedding anniversary. Highly recommend this place and will return again in the near future for another celebration!

I ordered Buttermilk Griddle Cakes on March 14, 2019. It appeared that the kitchen did not have real buttermilk, so they made their own using regular milk, and vinegar. The pancakes tasted like they had way too much vinegar! In addition, the restaurant did not have any fresh fruit options. My plate was "decorated" with 1/4 strawberry, and a half of an orange slice very thinly sliced. Such a disappointment.

We came for the Chef’s 3-Course dinner special last Wednesday and were delighted with the experience. It’s a great value as the food was delicious and the service outstanding. We will definitely be back.

The Blue Boar has always been a fabulous restaurant but this visit was disappointing. Our meals for a party of 6 in a restaurant with 4 other patrons came 2 at a time with a delay between each delivery. Our guests wanted to treat us so when my entree came cold I did not want to embarrass them by sending it back. I had the duck breast and the pumpkin spaetzel was cold and chewy. The onion soup as a starter was wonderful. The server repeatedly interrupted our conversation. The reason we come to the Blue Boar is the ability to have a quiet conversation. I don’t know what the problem was in the kitchen Tuesday night and hopefully this was a exception to their usual wonderful experience.

Celebrated our anniversary dinner at Blue Boar. It was a quiet Sunday evening and the dinner and service met all our expectations. Everything we ordered was exquisitely prepared and seasoned to perfection. We could not have made a better choice for our celebratory night out.

We were warmly greeted by Claudia and she took great pride in telling us about the restaurant, the menu, and the inn. The food was excellent and served exactly as ordered. The wine list is amply stocked and reasonably priced. Overall a great evening and a definite repeat.

It turned out to be Prix Fixe Menu night which we hadn't expected when booking, but the selections offered were more than adequate, and sometimes it's easier not to have too many choices. The food was excellent and table service friendly and efficient. I would have given 5 stars for service and overall experience but for the unsmiling, dare I say peremptory, hostess who was impatient with the fact that we couldn't find a parking space when we didn't realize there was a parking lot across the street. Her "welcome" when we arrived set the tone for the evening which was fortunately saved by the wait staff.
We did find the lighting a bit subdued - a table light or candle would have cheered up the ambience.

The prix fixe menu was great value, although we would have liked to see more choice in wines by the glass. Regardless we will be back on an evening when the full menu is available.

The fondue appetizer was excellent and a great start to the meal. It was quite filling and we ended up splitting a main course, which was plenty of food. The schnitzel was also excellent.

We took our children for Sunday Brunch this past Sunday. The waiter was kind, but the other waitress was rude and unhelpful. My boys would say "please" and "thank you" and she would just walk away! Trying to teach manners is difficult when adults don't use their manners. The muffins and bread were extremely dry and crumbly. No refills were offered for our juice and decaf coffee. We took our dessert home and opened the container to find that each eclair was cut in half!? For the price, I'm pretty sure we could each have our own eclair. Overall, disappointing and will likely not return

Food was good service was better then most would have expected better for the type of restaurant.
Low score on atmospher however.
They need to turn the lights down a few notches and light some candles I felt like I was sitting in a cafeteria with ALL of the lights turned up to full
Food was good portion sizes were exactly what you would expect at any Utah restaurant HUGE.
Salmon was good but clearly not fresh.
Overall I would recommend this place to friends for a unique dining experience and a good date night

The Blue is a special treat and on our must do list with each trip to the Wasatch. Ambiance is unique, but the chef is as good as it gets in the region. It’s always a special occasion, but this trip exceeded our high expectations.

My wife and I drove up for an anniversary dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and food. Our service was a bit off and we had to ask for things a couple of times, but that wasn’t the experience we noticed for other tables. The fondue was outstanding. The salads were likewise amazing. The fillet and salmon were perfectly cooked. And the mac and cheese was the best I’ve ever, ever had.

Fondue is always excellent. Every course we choose has exceeded taste and presentation expectations. Only problem we had is our server forgot to put in a dish order, then disappeared right before the end of our meal. Not our first visit and will not be our last.

The ham and bean soup was delicious, and the entres were good, though they lacked some flavor. I was pleased, but not overly impressed with those. The service was great and so was the ambiance. Overall a good experience.

This is a great option for people living around Midway area, for us did not worth the drive from south salt lake city.
The service was very good, everyone smiling and being nice (except the host)
We had a "fix menu":
- The starter was soup, very tasty and full strong flavours.
- The entrees were meat and chicken, nothing that we will remember tomorrow.
- The dessert was cheesecake, very good.
