Wonderful dinner! The food was fantastic and the service incredible!
Always a lovely breakfast or lunch with friends at the Blue Boar. You feel like you have been a a quick European vacation. Dinner is also great. A regular favorite spot for years.
Pork Chop was great; Chicken breast portion was small. Would have liked bread served with meal (apparently only served if salad was ordered?)
The experience was as expected….near perfect! This place deserves the accolades it regularly receives.
I was very disappointed in the food. My friends had the schnitzel and it did not have any flavor and seemed like it was frozen. We are not sure if it were potatoes or pasta served with it. My filet was good but the French Onion Soup was awful. We sent it back and they took that off of my bill which I appreciated. Another table near us had complained about the soup as well. Servers were nice. The restaurant decor is very dated and needs a facelift. It seems that the Blue Boar has seen better days.
We dined at the Blue Boar for my husband's birthday Sunday brunch, after staying in Midway at the Zermatt for the weekend. The building and decorations are really cool! There's lots of boars, European accessories, and photos and medals from Special Olympics athletes. Bring your appetite! They serve five courses, including the main course you order. Our meal started with a basket of danishes and baked goods, then a honey and lavender panna cotta, then a traditional crepes suzette, then our main entrée, and lastly strawberry shortcake. Everything is made fresh on the premises and all the food was delicious. I ordered scotch eggs (with boar sausage and panko crust) for my main and my husband ordered the smoked salmon omelet - both were cooked to perfection! The service was fine and I loved taking pictures of all the decorations around the building.
Joyce helped us find an ideal table for 2 and we even enjoyed watching about 30 wild turkeys as we ate.
Elizabeth is a great server. She made frequent stops by our table for coffee refills and to see if we had any requests.
We had breakfast (eggs, fried potatoes, yummy bacon, pancakes, sourdough toast and delectable jam!).
My girlfriend and I loved the food and ambiance at Blue Boar for New Years! We loved the meatballs, salads, and filet! Great desserts and really intimate space. Only area of improvement would be cocktail selection but that is only a small blip.
My wife and I love the Blue Boar inn. It is truly amazing!! We come here every year for our anniversary. A very special place!!
Blue Boar Inn continues to be one of our favorite romantic destinations. There food is excellent, the service always friendly and the ambiance romantic. For a special treat you should plan a night there as well. It is my favorite bed and breakfast experience.
Great value and a good place I will go back to for more lunches.
The food was very good and the atmosphere was lovely… My pasta was cold… Which was disappointing but otherwise very flavorful
I will simply say the Blue Boar Inn is our favorite place to eat.
What a wonderful little place tucked away in Midway! We celebrated my wife’s birthday here for the weekend, food was great, loved our room and location was beautiful. Would definitely recommend.
Average service. Average food. Above average prices. The fondue cheese is delicious. And served room temperature. The caesar salad needs to be cut down and assembled. No pepper offered. The schnitzel was hot and delicious. Nothing else was hot - everything was room temperature. The lamb chops were on the tough side, had an unrendered fat cap and got an end cut for medium rare. So it wasn’t. The sorbet didn’t melt. Frozen solid.
This place is special. We celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary here for dinner and it was spectacular. The ambiance is so unique and quaint. Elegant, cozy, and comfortable. The service was excellent and the food was superb. We can’t wait to go again and plan to stay at the inn next time.
We had a great lunch without breaking the bank of
We were the only diners there and it was quiet and slow.
Absolutely charming…great food, service and ambiance!
My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant several times during our stay at the inn. It was some of the best food we have ever had and the service was excellent! We would recommend this to anyone. Wonderful, memorable experience!
Excellent service serving excellent food. Prepared properly from fist course to dessert.
Blue Boar is a fantastic restaurant. The food is always excellent. The service is exceptional. It is a great restaurant for a romantic meal or for friends to catch up. I highly recommend it.
The staff was very attentive and the food was amazing!
So wonderful and romantic! Our service was great!!
The whole experience was delightful. The lamb and filet came recommended and it exceeded our expectations. The creme brulee topped off the experience.
Everything from hostess, to server, to chef is extraordinary. Spectacular—even after 25 years.
The food and service were very good. The restaurant could use a little music though a you can hear a pin drop.
There is no better environment and seldom a better meal than at the Blue Boar.
Best restaurant in region for quality and ambiance
Great!!! Love the Blue Boar!!
What a treat! My parents gave us a gift certificate for our birthdays and this place is just wonderful. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was bliss (can't wait to go back and try the other plates), and the ambience, the cosiness, and the decor made for such a lovely evening. We absolutely loved it there! Thanks for such a great night!
Great place all the way around. Beautiful building and great food.
We had Sunday brunch here and loved all the food we got. The restaurant was very quiet since we were there in the off season and the service was friendly and responsive.
As good as its always been. Best atmosphere in Midway. Great food.
The ham and bean soup wad so delicious. Breads on at le were delicious, served with soft butter. Very good wine and beer list. My friend enjoyed her salmon dish.
French dip sandwich was good too.
Great service!! Very nice waitress.
I highly recommend the french dip sandwich for lunch. The older ladies working there don’t like being troubled with disinfecting the menus, however. So if you pick one up at the entrance be ready to be announced in front of everyone that you put your germs on the menus. I’d expect a little more tact from a place like this but I guess it’s their way of showing their due diligence in protecting their customers from Covid. If I were them, I’d keep the menus out of reach and spare the customers from humiliation.
Very interesting restaurant, lots of old country German paraphernalia. The food was excellent, tasty and well prepared and the service was equally good.
This is our go-to each year for honeymoon and anniversary. It was fabulous as always!
Great food and great service. The restaurant is a little off the beaten path from Park City and we had trouble booking a ride back to our hotel. Even still, it was worth the trip. Fondue and dippers was fantastic. I had the shrimp and grits which were very flavorful and my husband enjoyed his filet. The Nordic/alpine theme is well executed throughout and adds to the charm of the experience.
Great service and value for Wednesday fixed price dinner. Recommend for any day.
