I’ve been here before and the food and service is always great.
our server was super! Olivia was engaging, good service and in particular, explained how she was trying to not be a bother, and do what we wanted, so if we wanted/needed anything place a salt shaker at the end of the table. She mentioned she had just learned that from another server - brilliant! especially since she took the time and was sincere in wanting to service us, but not unnecessarily be a bother and interrupt our meal. Kudos to Olvia
Waiter was rude and the food was mediocre.
We were very disappointed to see the restaurant closed on a Friday night, even so the open table allows us to do the reservation
We’ve dined and celebrated at this location many times over the last 5 years & the last 2 visits were HORRIBLE. This visit was our Wedding Party Brunch. Our table of 13 was reserved in advance, there was 1 server for the entire restaurant therefore service was slow and inconsistent. Most of our party’s meals were served in parts (example: I ordered French Toast & Bacon and the bacon wasn’t served when the French Toast was, the server told me it would be out momentarily instead it was 15 minutes later). The server seemed very inexperienced with large groups, didn’t know the menu well, difficult to effectively communicate with and was extremely rude to several members of our party. The other young woman who appeared to be overseeing the restaurant (maybe a shift manager- as I’ve seen her there at past visits) didn’t help our server at all & when one of our party complained to her about the service- she appeared very unconcerned. We’ll NEVER RETURN & WILL NOT recommend this restaurant anyone we know.
The food was alright. They did give large portions, and the quality was good, but nothing mind-blowing. Margaritas were not that great, to be honest. I like the margaritas at Mercadito more.
Great margs and good food!!
All blue agave’s in the city are so awesome! Really large, typically 2 story restaurants with the main attraction being the massively oversized bar. The waiters are all incredible and check up consistently throughout the meal, without being overbearing. The happy hour deals could suffice for an entire meal!! Really good drink and food options for very reasonable prices.
Mario and Company do an excellent job in running a very well-managed ship. Great mastery of Mexican cuisine with a flair. JMS
Entertaining our in-laws on a rainy afternoon; Blue Agave seemed perfect. And it was.
The service was great, drinks flowed, food was good and plentiful.
I'm sorry that I don't remember our server's name - but she stopped by often and helped us sort out a coupon from Open Table. We will be back.
The place is dirty, tables were sticky and gross. Waitress was new, didn’t know the menu to help with selection. We ordered the special quac based on what she told us it was like and it came out completely different. Food was not tasteful. One and done kind of place, for us anyway.
Food and service was great. I will definitely be back
Terrible food and even worse service. Margaritas are pre mixed and over priced. Way better options in the city then this place.
Food was good. Drinks were really small. Ordered a Cabernet and was brought a glass of white, so had to educate the waitress. Oh well....I did get a cab!
Wait service was very attentive. Food was awesome. Very reasonable prices.
We always have the best service here!! We love it so much!
Good vibrant environment with good food and good drinks. Be sure to find out about happy hour. The drinks pack a nice punch and the tacos are delightful!
The service and food were great. The drinks were awesome.
While dining outside, one of the residents in the building apparently dumped a liquid from their balcony. This led to several drops of water (???) landing on us and fellow patrons. The servers promptly moved our party indoors.
I imagine that this was an isolated incident. So we will definitely be returning in the future.
Food was fantastic! But thats about all. We ordered quesadillas, tilapia tacos, al pastor taco, steak taco, Mexican corn guac and chips. Everything was delicious
Great food & margs but took them at least 20 minutes to come over to our table when the place wasn’t that busy. My guy had to flag someone down to get waited on. The service was the only issue though. The food was incredible.
Waiter and waitress were not attentive ordered a 13 dollar drink for them to bring the wrong beer with the drink. Took forever to get service.
Our Server took about 20 minutes to get to our table to introduce herself and take down our drinks . It took another 10 minutes to get our drinks and another 25 min for our food and we never saw our waitress after she took down our food order. Our order came out by a person that cleans tables and we waited and waited for our check and she never came. We had to leave our table and go to wear the hostess is to ask for our check. They blamed it on our waitress having a big section by herself and that wasn’t the case. I waitressed before and it was dead inside. It wasn’t packed to where she was all over the place. I will never go back again
I don’t know where to start....
The food was absolutely terrible. It took over 45 min for our food to come out, and when it did, the food was cold. I ordered a virgin daiquiri, and it taste like ice with strawberries. My husband ordered a fajita skillet, the didn’t bring the tortilla shells for another 10 minutes. Overall I was highly disappointed with dinner. Our waiter was extremely kind and apologetic. I genuinely believe he did the best he could. I highly suggest the management team to review their staff to assure they have enough people to accommodate the volume of guests.
Food was pretty lackluster. Recommend the skirt steak taco but would say to stay away from the chocolate chile mole sauce/the enchiladas that come with it. Service was super slow/inattentive which is disappointing since otherwise there was a good vibe in the place. Maybe it’s better for drinks and quesadillas on a super slow Tuesday than a fun Friday night dinner, but don’t expect too much.
I believe our server was drunk. We asked SEVERAL times for items that we should have and still didn’t get. She forgot food we ordered brought us food we didn’t order. It was a mess. I normally enjoy my time there but not this time.
Very poor service. I took my wife there for her bday with 6 other people. We had an 8pm reservation, our table wasnt ready until nearly 9pm. We had 1 server that got 75% of the food orders wrong and hardly checked on us. We waited so long for food I forgot we had ordered any. Food was mediocre. She wouldn't split our check. Go there for casual drinks and nothing more but be warned everything is over priced. Great selection of tequilas. Cocktails, and some mezcals.
The drinks were great! I ordered the veggie tacos which were ok (they needed a little seasoning). The rest of the party were satisfied with their choice of food/drinks! Overall experience was good.
My husband & I always go here when we are in the mood for Mexican food on date night! The food & margaritas are delicious! Best margaritas in Chicago!!!
Food and drinks were excellent. vibe was good
The Strawberry Pineapple Margarita was DELICIOUS!. the guancamole could have used more lime juice and salt. But it was so chunky and delicious. The street corn was cut off the cob, I truly enjoyed it.
Decent food and drinks. For a Saturday night, It was not very busy.
We keep coming back for special occasions and for the fantastic food. Also, the house margarita is one if the best in the city!
Fantastic food and service!
The service and food were great. I just wish the music was a bit better and little louder.
Food, service and ambiance were great! Would have liked to try more of the specialty tequila cocktails but they were a bit too strong to finish even one.
We got seated at about 8:50pm and had not been helped even once by 9:15pm. My boyfriend asked 2 bus people to send a waiter over and no one ever came. At 9:15pm he talked to the host and she sent someone over. This server was very short with us so we decided to leave. Terrible service.
Everything was pretty good, however our food could of been alot more hotter and our waitress could have been a little more attentive.
Great fajitas and margaritas
Ate here with colleagues when in town on business. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Great selection of tequila. Guacamole was good- we had the three variety appetizer and each was unique. Salsa had nice heat. Ceviche was fresh and tasty; generous portion that was more “brothy” than others I’ve had but I liked it very much. Only disappointing thing was their tres leches cake. More like corn bread muffin consistency and not sitting in any leches sauce.
The food was good, service was great. Drinks were watered down.
