Blue Agave Grill - Fort Collins

We've been coming here sine they opened and usually order one of the same two things. It wasn't quite as good this last time - the fish on my Blue Agave fish tacos seemed old (it had that smelly fish taste) and the marinated tomatoes were extremely salty. Other than that, the margaritas were excellent as usual and others in my party liked their meals. We'll keep coming - maybe the chef just had a bad day.

Guacamole was tasteless & not worth the money. The entrees were a mixed bag. Blue corn enchiladas were not appetizing whereas the top shelf enchiladas were quite tasty. Overall, the quality of food has dropped over the past 2-3 years.

Service was super slow throughout the meal. We asked our waitress to get our check because we needed to get to a show and the Lincoln center and it still took a half hr to get out.

Food was excellent however our service was not. I specifically noted on the reservation that we were celebrating my husband’s 40th birthday. We were rushed through our meal and the bill came 50 minutes after we sat down and before we Even finished our food. We were planning on ordering more drinks and dessert. The waitress never once wished him a happy birthday or acknowledged that we were not wanting to be rushed! It was such a special birthday and we felt extremely disappointed. We felt so unwelcome that we paid the bill and went out for more drinks and dessert someplace else.

Our overall experience was great - our waitress was very attentive, efficient and friendly. All of our food tasted great and we will definitely be back.

For a first time visitor, the long essay on Open Table which guests must agree to is very off-putting. I'd suggest having someone with a strong customer service background rewrite that portion to sound like you do care about your guests rather than just yourselves.

When we arrived, our reservation was ready but we were never asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. It was November 15th - and we should have had the option. They sat us outside. Our server was really slow. It took 20 minutes to get our first round of drinks and we never got our last. We had to go into the restaurant and request our bill and had request that they remove the drinks we never received. The food was very tasty but I would recommend telling them where you want to sit if you make a reservation.

The food was good, but overpriced for what you actually get. Our waiter was super nice, but the service was so slow. Getting drinks, then dinner took forever. It was considerably noisy, we couldn't really carry on a conversation. We even had kids with us and they were the quiet ones :)

Glad I made reservations 2 days earlier, the place was crowded but for a good reason. The food was very good, not traditional Mexican or Southwestern, made with a little flair. Service was very good and the waiter was knowledgable about the menu choices. Also a fair amount of good tequilas to choose from. It is a bit noisy but people were all having a good time in the joint so that's to be expected. I'll be back to try more from the menu.

The food is just ok, but on Friday night this place is incredibly popular. It's probably the location but it is also terribly loud. Drinks are good, and the server was too.

We have been to Blue Agave several times and it is one our favorite places to eat in Fort Collins. This past visit was probably the worst experience we have had at the restaurant. The service was very slow and the worst part was the Black and White Nachos. We order them every time we come to Blue Agave and this time we noticed the serving size and as significantly smaller and yet the price was higher than in past visits. The nachos themselves were very disappointing as we have been accustomed to how they have been every other time we have had them. The chips in the nachos were completely soggy and floppy and made it almost impossible to eat without a fork and knife. The cheese tasted like they had been sitting there for a while. The rest of the food was as good as usual, especially the Chorizo Corn Dip.

Blue Agave Grill is always a great place to go for delicious and different Mexican food. Love trying various Margaritas offered! Service was great! Looking forward to next time!

We had a party of 9, celebrating three birthdays, so we made a reservation for 6:15pm. We weren’t seated until just after 6:45pm, after waiting in the tight entrance of the restaurant. Food was fantastic, as always, and drinks were fresh and delicious. Our server was very good, but food came out at different times, so we were sharing bites with one another while we waited. May not go back here again soon due to the long wait to get our table, with the reservation. Disappointing we weren’t offered drinks or apps or anything else while we waited. And after the long wait, we forgot to tell the server we were there for birthdays, so no special dessert or anything. Overall, a delicious, but disappointing night at Blue Agave. We ended the night at another establishment that gave us dessert:)

Overall experience was nice! Would definitely go back again. Only downfall I experienced was waiting 30 mins past my reservation time.

We have visited Blue Agave a few times. So far we have yet to be disappointed by the food. The service again was outstanding as well. We don’t live near the area and didn’t really understand there was a big Christmas lighting event. We were seated at the front area of the restaurant. Many people that were waiting were standing over our table. My date kept getting bumped into by a group that was standing right behind us on her side. So the ambience side kind of failed this time. Had we lived closer and knew about this event we would have requested a particular area. We generally request a booth anyway. That is likely the way to go if you visit during the winter given that it is away from standing areas and the bar top area. Otherwise we definitely will return again! They have a great team. Very hospitable.

Coconut shrimp taco's are terrific!
The broccoli cheese jalapeño soup on a chilly night is amazing.

My family came into town and I wanted to take them somewhere special and decent. They loved it and the food. Blue agave grill is by far one of the best restaurants in Fort Collins.

The yellowfin tuna dish I ordered was delicious and cooked perfectly! We'll be back very soon!

Great time all around! Wonderful food and drinks! We were seated next to a college birthday party which was very loud. Our server was excellent, but $36 for 4 scallops seemed a bit pricy. Still one of our favorites!

Waited almost 30 minutes after our reservation for a table, service was good but the food was incredibly mediocre and very overpriced.

Undoubtedly the best food in town for its price point. Dependably outstanding food, service, and experience. I have eaten there many times; never had anything to complain about.

Slow service, overpriced food. Would not return.

The floor was absolutely filthy with shrapnel of chips and who knows what on the floor. Also it was really loud although I also realize this is appealing to younger crowd in a college setting so that’s probably not really an issue.

Very good meal for the 3rd time I’ve been there. El Capitan margarita was the fav of the 4 types ordered. Server suggested substituting out the chipotle cream sauce for the regular crema on several dishes and it was a big hit. Watch out for the upsell

Always wanted to join the crowd at Blue Agave Grill to dine when in Fort Collins! Finally got our chance when in for the CSU game. Food was delicious and the jalapeno margarita was terrific! Would absolutely eat here again! The Stuffed Relleno was incredible!

Fantastic! Elevated Mexican food. Perfect cook on the meat and excellent seasoning. Their house Margarita is IMHO the best anywhere.

We frequent blue agave often and always love our time there and the food is always so good! But the prices have increased a significant amount on things, beyond basic “inflation” so definitely something to consider. Still always enjoy our time there and the best margs around!

Beautiful evening on the patio. Great specialty margaritas and excellent, generous food. Warm, friendly service. Couldn’t have been more enjoyable.
