Blue Agave Club
Some of the most popular entrees at Blue Agave Club are the grilled salmon and rice, vegetarian enchiladas and enjococado, which comes from a 100-year-old family recipe. Many recipes are vegetarian or can be made that way, including the Blue Agave Bowl with vegetables, rice, beans and ardiente sauce.
We also have Happy Hour in our Bar, Monday - Thursday 5:30 - 7pm!

Very nice outdoor setting.
Live musician tried her best but should have mixed instrumental pieces in with her vocal playlist.
Food good, drinks good. Wait staff prompt and courteous.
Enjoyed the opportunity to be “out”!
We missed going to this restaurant during the lockdown. It was very nice to go back and eat great food in a casual setting.
Food was great. Mango margaritas were also delicious. Enjoyed the performance entertainment while we ate. First time there and will definitely come back when in town.
Overall nice place. Live music, friendly staff and food was a 4 out of 5.
Great food; very friendly and attentive service ; highly recommended
Blue Agave is great. Sitting outside on a nice day recently was great, even though they are open for indoor dining now. Great food, great service, and great margaritas!
Service was non-existent almost. Food was good. Should get better.
It was fun and enjoyable!
Awesome food and ambiance as usual!
I wrote in notes it was a special occasion and no acknowledgement also I asked for hot sauce to put on my meal like Tabasco or chulua and they brought me a very extreme devils salsa that you cannot eat because it’s deadly hot! Waiter did not tell me a $3 charge for it and was on my bill. Over priced food and my chicken mole sauce was so grossly sweet. Never going back and that was my first and last time there.
AWFUL!
The patio is just okay, not very inviting. The service was horrible. We had to “catch” someone in order to get anything we needed. We didn’t seem to have a waitperson assigned to our table, just different people running by... the restaurant was not even busy, not sure where they were all running to.
Food was bland, meager portions and WAY overpriced. For a bowl $26 we got a little pile of veggies some black beans a tiny bit of slaw (sweet, did not make sense with the rest of the dish) and some very rubbery chicken that was supposedly grilled. $21 for two petite flavorless cheese enchiladas with embarrassing amounts of rice and beans.
Just a terrible experience in every way. Don’t waste your money and time!
We had a good time!
Really good food really great outdoor seating. A little pricey for Mexican food but it was delish and margaritas are on point.
Food was bland and wasn't hot, poor customer service...
I love this place but on this day not so much. My husband both order the specialty margarita that night, it was water down and you could hardly taste the tequila. I should taste some tequila for the price we paid. Nobody came over to ask if we wanted additional drinks. But i’m going to chalk it up to a bad day or whatever. Definitely will be back.
The food was very good as always. The low service score is because our server was asked to split the the check (2 groups of 3) and said he would do it later. LATER, he presented one check for six and when questioned by one of our guests (in Spanish), told her he was too busy. Eventually she went to a manger and got the bill sorted out.
Yeah it was busy but I've seen much bigger crowds. He could have avoided the problem by taking the original order in two parts. this was just lunch, not a banquet.
They were able to accommodate entire family for a bday dinner. Wait staff was amazing and the food was delicious.
Good food. Great location.
has become a lot more expensive. food is good and consistent as always
Amazing staff, gorgeous outdoor dining area. Food was great, drink were strong. Loved it!
Best gourmet Mexican cuisine along the 680 corridor
I want to start this review with the understanding that I believe a good selection of tequila is necessary for a Mexican restaurant to be considered worthy of a high rating, and The Blue Agave Club has got that more than covered. Do yourself a favor if you are in the Pleasanton CA area and give it a try! The downtown area is quaint, the food is fabulous, and the tequila selection is second to none. One of my all time favorites, and visiting on business once a year from New Jersey, where we seriously lack Mexican restaurants of this caliber, I never miss the opportunity to dine here.
My wife's meal was cold and had to be taken back to the kitchen. Mine was semi warm so I decided to just eat it. Eventually the staff brought a plate to the table next to us that was exactly what my wife had ordered and they hadn't so we asked for it from them realizing they made an error giving it to the wrong table, which by the way they also had been missing parts of their orders.
The food really wasn't very good at all. The restaurant was so cold, this was inside where it should have been cozy warm, so we kept our winter coats on the entire time we were there. Not pleasant at all.
Summing it up, sub-par quality food, poor service, over priced and cold uninviting atmosphere. Won't be going back.
I have been coming to Blue Agave for over 10 years. Since David was a bartender, and now he helps run the place. Wonderful food, excellent selection of tequila and service that is a 10-plus. Perhaps we are treated like family here, but we love the food, consistency, and atmosphere. The absolute BEST outdoor seating in Pleasanton! Highly recommend, and will be back again soon!
Always a terrific spot. In summer, you have the garden. In the winter, the carefully decorated inside, with cool chairs and a feeling of being in a friend's house. The sopa de tortilla is the best in the world. Everything else is a wonderful taste of being in the Yucatan. The service is amazing. This is just the best place and worth the drive, even if you're not close. We make a point of coming here when we can because it is just great. This time was for lunch, but in the evening, we enjoy their terrific drink menu, comparing different tequilas in margaritas.
Music outside with the guitarist Sedlak was a nice surprise. Ended up eating outside so we could hear him. Heat lamps kept up toasty warm. Food and drinks were better than I remember. Was a magical night.
Greta Margarita, friends, and good!
We were really disappointed in our first visit here. Ordered the calamari which came out barely warm, really dried out and completely underwhelming. Drinks were okay but didn't taste like there was much tequila in them at $11 each. Hubby's burrito was pretty good but twice the price of most other places. Overall we were disappointed. Mentioned there was a birthday, they didn't recognize it.

First off, the restaurant was not seating anyone inside. Only on the patio. Second, The waiter that waited on us was not very professional and very curt when taking the order and the runner was close to just throwing the plates of food on the table. Third, my 16 year old ordered the steak from the menu and they brought out the steak with a shot of tequila. What kind of place does this with a 16 year old sitting there.
We have been coming to this restaurant for awhile, but no more.
Great lunch with friends who have never been to the Blue Agave. Glad I recommended the restaurant. Most accommodating staff and good food.
Waiter - meh.
Chips- meh
Chicken soup - awful
Great food and an imaginative drink menu make this a wonderful place to dine in either a well decorated indoor dining area, or outdoors on the abundantly grand patio. The beautiful trees and umbrellas offer ample shade in the summer months, and outdoor heaters make it very comfortable in cooler weather. The food is unusual, concentrating more on Mexican regional dishes and there are several items on the menu that are unique and delicious. There are also traditional items to choose from. The service is very friendly and expedient.
It's always been a fun place, but I'd say the food has improved noticeably.
Huge portions and a solid tequila selection. Food was a bit on the pricier side, but it was good quality.
Disappointed. This is a long-time favorite restaurant in Pleasanton but this visit did not meet expectations. The higher end (read priced) margaritas we got (3 different kinds) were just okay. The service was unattentive. Out of the 3 dishes - including the "special" only the cevice we'd rate as "good" The outdoor patio remained very nice and the live musician was the right volume which added to the evening.
A beautiful evening out with our very good friends, all celebrating our October birthdays. Everyone enjoyed their meals along with our waiter David, making sure we had all we needed.
Service was wonderful. We sat outside on the patio. Lovely ambiance. Our waiter even brought us a flan for dessert because he heard it was my birthday. Very delicious food. We’ll definitely come back.
A nice place if you want to sit outside and hear great music. Food was pricey and service a little slow, we never got water refills. We also got charged for a little hot sauce since the salsas were too mild.
Love the outside dining at Blue Agave
A beautiful place to eat outside, the service was good, but the food is just fair and overpriced.
