Blue Adobe Grille Ratings and Reviews
We had eaten at Blue Adobe several years ago while in town on business. The meal was memorable and the food delicious. We are vacationing in Phoenix this week and wanted to visit Blue Adobe again. We were not disappointed! The Santa Fe Bay and Kabobs were excellent. The service was attentive. We enjoyed eating again at Blue Adobe and highly recommend this restaurant.
Not traditional Mexican....but better!!!
Every dish ordered, by 6 of us, was delicious!
Only request would be to have more dishes without hot spice (allergic to 🌶).
Outdoor dining was perfect and the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly!
We’ll definitely go there again, on our next visit to AZ.
We recently moved here and are still discovering restaurants - this was a great find that we will definitely go back to. The owner, Michael, introduced himself which put a great personal touch on the evening. Yummy food and friendly place. Thanks! from Beth and Gordon, formerly of Seattle.
We go to BAG at least every other week, the food is consistent, tasty and fresh. The service is great and we always asks for DANA who is an outstanding server, knows customer service, and provides great restaurant recommendations!! The prices are reasonable, and there is plenty of parking for now... while the snow birds are still out of town. So, if you have not tried this place, it's a gotta try...
This was just what we were looking for on a Sarurday evening. Great food, drunks, and staff. There was a three piece band (fantastic) that were very interactive with the crowd, not intrusive, just right. Our group LOVES live music and good food. Could not ask for more. Fantastic!
I was very disappointed. We read the reviews, which were good so we decided to take my cousin from Chicago to get some good Mexican food. We were seated and ignored for at least 15 minutes before I asked someone where our waitress was. The person I asked took our drink order and 5 to 10 minutes later our waitress showed up to take our order but still no drinks or chips. We finally got our drinks and chips and waited at least 30 minutes, never once did our waitress check on us and finally I asked where our food was and she checked and said there had been a mix up but she would get it soon. The food came not long after but was subpar at the best. I was embarrassed that I had recommended this restaurant to my cousin. Needless to say I would never eat there again and would definitely not recommend this place to anyone I liked.
We went in search of NM cuisine and Blue Adobe boasted that was their niche. Patio is lovely. Bar scene at 530 on a Thursday night was very vibrant. Restaurant was decorated very simply with a few NM style items. Service was prompt and friendly. As the restaurant got busier service slowed a bit, but was still solid and good during our dinner. Chips and salsa were tasty, but to us not really comparable with NM salsas. Green chili corn chowder was our starting point. Lots of large pieces of chicken and green chili. Very sweet taste to the chowder from the sweet corn used. It overwhelmed the heat of the chili and became the main attraction in the chowder. We dined on various enchiladas, carne adovada ( rarely found outside of NM and favorite amongst us), tamales and rice and beans. The enchiladas were all topped with their red chili sauce. It was darker than NM chili and has a very profound sweetness. Almost like BBQ sauce and red chili mixed together. Sadly not our favorite. The tamales were traditional and tasty, the rice and beans were good and the carne adovada missed the mark because of the immense sweetness in the red chili sauce. We finished with sopapillas which had a fine bubbly texture on the outside. We've never seen this before. They were okay. We like traditional sopapillas. Overall this was an average to good experience. Mostly we were looking for a true NM dining experience and felt this missed the mark for that. However, it still had some solid choices and flavors!
Met friends there for dinner. The service was average. The presentation of the food was superb, but lacked in taste. Very bland. I ordered the chorizo stuffed chicken breast...tasted like ground beef. The chips and salsa were good. $114 for 4 of us...no one ordered cocktails. The appetizer was better than the main course. Wouldn't recommend it or go back. Wasn't a bad experience, just not what I expected.
Always consistent. Always great food.
We were there for lunch after a round of golf, and my only negative (at this time of day) was that all the blinds were closed so it made it really dark inside. It was an overcast afternoon due to our monsoon weather right now, so not like all the blinds were needing to be closed for the heat of the sun. Other than that it was great. Even got sent away with a 'to go cup' of iced tea. Very thoughtful.
