Blu Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
When making our reservation we noted, that we were celebrating two Birthdays, and had requested a nice table to celebrate.
The evening was ruined upon arrival when we were seated at the rear of the restaurant, facing the washroom, signs, while having patrons heading to, and returning from the restaurant squeezeing past our table, not to mention every stafff member on route to the service area.
We were offered a table in the bar area, however this to would not have been conducive to our celebration.
In the end we ignored the wine list, and dined on a single course, with the intent of leaving as quickly is posdible.
We did enjoy the food and table service, we simply would have appreciated a call saying, that we could not honour the request for a table befitting the occasion.
Fabulous restaurant. I loved the piano music, it added a nice ambiance. We were celebrating our 25th Anniversary which I called ahead. They brought us a piece of cake at end but I do recommend that perhaps rather than cake they could have given us a complimentary glass of champagne since I told them it was our 25 Th Anniversary. That’s my only constructive criticism. Loved it otherwise!
-Food was very salty and the seafood lobster fettuccine was way over cooked making the lobster rubbery and not edible.
- Veal was very salty; had to leave the food
- Had told them about birthday celebration and the message to write on the plate however nothing was written but only a small candle placed on the tiramisu.
- overall very disappointed in the food because I was expecting his to be at a level of Buca or Canoe.
- would not recommend not would I go back. Not worth the money at all.
Restaurant was punctual and friendly. Food arrived quite hurriedly literally as the cocktails did. Antipasti and salad wine and cocktails all at once. I spoke to the servers and advised we did not want to feel time pressured. Things ok after that. Quite busy, quite loud. Staff and food very good though
I came here with a friend on a week day. We had the soup du jour, zucchini fritters, and the veal saltimbocca.
Right after we ordered, we received some bread (about 2 slices) with some olive oil, I believe. The bread was very soft, but not warm. It was more like room temperature, which was fine.
I enjoyed the leek soup, but the fritters were a bit bland for my taste. My friend enjoyed the veal, not so much the sauteed cabbage that came with the dish.
The service was very good. The waiting staff were all very attentive to both my friend and I.
Overall, it was a good 'special-occasion' restaurant to go to.
Great setting here for dinner. (only small complaint is it's too dark & hard to read menu) Service is super attentive even when it started getting dinner hour busy...Food is amazing! Red beet risotto was perfect. I had the Saffron risotto with grilled calamari...Both dishes were plentiful & full of flavor.. Well & properly cooked risotto made this a great meal for us both (Sorry another small complaint that the saffron risotto itself was pretty salty & not because of the calamari) Extensive wine list of just about everything anyone could want for a perfect meal....Tiramisu with expresso for dessert was a perfect ending to this meal...Overall was excellent dinner here & well worth the price for everything...Yes, a little expensive but well worth it all...Saw other meals being presented to others & all dishes looked amazing & plentiful...Great job Blu Ristorante, was our first time & will not be our last now that we've tried!
Fantastic meal in a very nice ambience. It's easy to actually talk because the background music is very subtle. The menu has a wonderful variety - it was hard to make a choice. So we ordered a few things and shared them. Our waiter Brian was a real pro. We had so much fun and he kept things nice and relaxed. He really knows what he's doing. Thanks for a great birthday evening!
The staff, ambiance the food and music was amazing. Our special occasion was very well accommodated. The whole thing was perfect from the minute we got there to the end when I proposed. (And she said yes!) Thanks to Tanya and the whole Blu staff again. Hope to see you soon again. Cheers!!!
When my veal dish arrived I was disappointed at the presentation ( a indistinct pile of food covered in brown sauce). The sauce, although very good, overpowered everything on the plate. None of the side dishes could be distinguished or give the palette relief from the sauce. Appetizers were exceptional and other diners with me enjoyed their meals.
Blu does an outstanding meal service in a lovely venue. The wait staff is informative, polite and professional. The meal presentation is attractive and delicious.
The added bonus is the generous space between tables, permitting a rare sense of privacy in restaurants today.
"Bravo" & thank you.
From the moment I walked in, I knew I made the right decision in booking my reservation at Blu Ristorante for my aunt's birthday. The Hostess, Tristan, was super helpful and very welcoming. Right away, he asked me if I required anything special for the evening or had any requests and showed me to my table. Service was impeccable. Heidi made our experience so wonderful. Constantly making sure we were okay and well taken care of, Heidi went above and beyond for us. Between the ambiance, excellent service, live entertainment and delicious food, it was truly a night to remember.
I would certainly recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and family, and it won't be long until I return to this restaurant. It was my first time on Yorkville and it certainly will not be my last!
A special thank you to Tristan, Heidi, Chef, and the kitchen staff at Blu Ristorante for making my aunt's birthday a special one!
The service was good. Location is nice, but the food was all a bit off. The pasta was undercooked, the octopus was overly salty, the lamb was good as was the ceasar salad but portions were small.
Overall not bad but too pricey relative to quality and portion size.
