Blu Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
We had a fabulous meal at Blu. As soon as we walked into this elegant but comfortable space, we were greeted warmly. The maitre d' took our coats (no hanging/checking them ourselves) and showed us to a lovely corner table. The service was discreet but attentive. Our water glasses were kept filled, without having to ask. Very nice menu, with something for everyone. We started with the grilled calamari and the beef carpaccio. Both absolutely delicious. The carpaccio was melt in your mouth. I have never been a caper fan, but I am now converted to roasted capers. Our mains were the saltimbocca and the rack of lamb. Again, both excellent, and served together at the proper temperature. The lamb is one of the pricier items on the menu but it was a very generous portion and well worth the cost. Desserts were to die for, particularly the lime, coconut cannoli. Overall, an excellent meal - this will be our new go-to restaurant.
Great ambiance and good service. Food tasted good, however the portions were quite small for what you pay.
We chose the calamari for appetizers to share, for me and my husband, each one of us got one peice of squid.
The drinks were quite expensive too.
My husband had the lamb chops which he said was very good, portion wasn’t too bad.
I had the seafood pasta which was nothing special and the pasta was too little, again quite pricey for the amount of food you get.
The food was delicious. They had freshly baked focaccia and were generous when we asked for more. The servers were friendly and gave excellent recommendations. The dishes are expensive but worth the amount you spend. Portion sizes are just right. This was a Sunday evening so the ambience was quiet and mellow. Overall great experience. Highly recommended for a delicious dining experience.
Love, Love, Love! In our opinion, Toronto’s best restaurant! Gorgeous cuisine , spectacular service, amazing atmosphere, it’s absolutely phenomenal! We drive in an hour away to dine here.
My husband’s veal chop and my Ahi Tuna was off the chart DELICIOUS!!!
Great ambiance, and friendly service. Came on a Saturday night and did feel a little rushed by the staff, as there is probably quick turnover for weekend dinners. Would’ve enjoyed more time with the menu, and more time to enjoy the wine. I ordered the saffron risotto with grilled calamari, which was flavourful and delicious. My partner ordered the seafood linguine, which was lacking. The sauce was essentially a bland and watery garlic broth, which didn’t hold to the pasta or seafood, and didn’t have any flavour. Disappointing for the price, and our expectation of a restaurant with Italian cuisine. Aside from that dish, it was a good experience.
When making our reservation we noted, that we were celebrating two Birthdays, and had requested a nice table to celebrate.
The evening was ruined upon arrival when we were seated at the rear of the restaurant, facing the washroom, signs, while having patrons heading to, and returning from the restaurant squeezeing past our table, not to mention every stafff member on route to the service area.
We were offered a table in the bar area, however this to would not have been conducive to our celebration.
In the end we ignored the wine list, and dined on a single course, with the intent of leaving as quickly is posdible.
We did enjoy the food and table service, we simply would have appreciated a call saying, that we could not honour the request for a table befitting the occasion.
Fabulous restaurant. I loved the piano music, it added a nice ambiance. We were celebrating our 25th Anniversary which I called ahead. They brought us a piece of cake at end but I do recommend that perhaps rather than cake they could have given us a complimentary glass of champagne since I told them it was our 25 Th Anniversary. That’s my only constructive criticism. Loved it otherwise!
-Food was very salty and the seafood lobster fettuccine was way over cooked making the lobster rubbery and not edible.
- Veal was very salty; had to leave the food
- Had told them about birthday celebration and the message to write on the plate however nothing was written but only a small candle placed on the tiramisu.
- overall very disappointed in the food because I was expecting his to be at a level of Buca or Canoe.
- would not recommend not would I go back. Not worth the money at all.
Restaurant was punctual and friendly. Food arrived quite hurriedly literally as the cocktails did. Antipasti and salad wine and cocktails all at once. I spoke to the servers and advised we did not want to feel time pressured. Things ok after that. Quite busy, quite loud. Staff and food very good though
