Lobster Cobb was excellent. Kitchen was slow. Waited an hour after ordering.
I have to say the service was outstanding! Very rare to find waiters that actually know how to serve. I loved the food and I will go again!
Delicious two years ago, and still delicious! Fresh seafood and a fresh approach to flavor pairings. Wish I lived closer.
Unfortunately, this once awesome restaurant has been on the decline for service and ambiance. We have been a group of 6-12pp monthly for brunch and sometimes HH. Servers are not so attentive and and while some waiting is reasonable, 30 minutes drinks and 45minutes for food is asking us to go someplace else. The sounds level makes it difficult to hear the person across the table. Opening the glass door to the street helps but when they are closed and it is busy, all bets off.
Unless I am totally craving a Lobster Cobb salad, we will be putting this restaurant on hold indefinably.
We have been to Blu many times, on our visits to visit our Daughter at Rollins.
We have never been disappointed..
Food was outstanding. Service not so good - we waited 45 minutes for our orders to arrive, only to discover that our waitress forget one of the people's french toast order. We waited another ten minutes for that to come. It was awkward and waitress was just not on top of things. Also, even though we made a reservation a month in advance, our party of four was seated at a table that was essentially in the hallway with a 3/4 wall pushed up next to one side separating us from the bar. Not good ambiance because of that. Restaurant would do well to remove that 3/4 wall and open up the restaurant space so that it is bright and inviting for all tables. If people are seated in the front area, that looked pretty good, but side and back are dark and not fun areas to enjoy the dining experience.
Always a great meal!
Great food! Even better atmosphere! Good service!
It was a decent dinner but enjoyed the table which faced Park Ave.
Wonderful service, fantastic burger, excellent shrimp, grouper, etc. Brunch outside, with wonderful drink specials , is our favorite. Happy hours are wonderful! Service is always great! Will be back soon!
We were looking for a nice seafood restaurant in Winter Park but we're not sushi fans. Our reservations for 6 were promptly honored. The winter weather was worm and the front doors were open which provided plenty of seating and lots of noise. The service was knowledgeable , friendly and efficient. Other than sangaria there was no wine. I order an traditional beer which was served in the bottle. One of us ordered the seasonal draft and it had a nice citrus flavor and was nicely sized. Our Crab Flatbread had a fine lump crab sauce with cheese and tomato and was liked all around. I asked the servers opinion between the swordfish and the Filet Oscar and he highly recommended the more expensive fillet. I later remembered Rollins has a outstanding school of business, but the fillet was a nice treat with a moderate sized juicy seared angus and a good crab and tabasco hollandaise sauce. Our meat and potatoes diner ordered the hanger steak but was put of by the grana padano side. Other diners went with shrimp pappardelle and chicken gnocchi which came with lots of vegetables and were rated 4 out of 5's.
The deserts were servings of cake which were moist with good icing and were sharable.
We might go back again if I want a nice meal served in a collegiate subway setting.
We enjoyed our evening out, but our experience at blu was just OK. Park Ave in Winter Park is a very competitive market - you have to be GREAT to even compete. I am a regular on the avenue, so will leave blu to the tourists.
My fiancée and I went to blu for date night. We had the oyster, shrimp, and crab plateau, the Maitland roll, and burrata salad to start. Then the hanger steak frites and scallop risotto for dinner. Everything was delicious, from the cucumber water to the risotto. The drinks were on the strong side, but still very tasty and you certainly get a good amount of alcohol for your money! Nico was our server and was friendly and attentive. Waterfall behind the bar was beautiful too! We took dessert trifles to go and those were excellent as well. Overall a perfect date, we will be returning!
Everything was amazing (including our server Hilary)! We had the oysters, burratta, and Oscar filets. It was our first visit and we were trying to have a romantic intimate dinner so the fact that all the tables are pretty much communal would be my only complaint, regardless will be back!
We were in town visiting our son and decided to try Blu. We were not disappointed and had a very nice experience. The food, service, and ambience were top notch.
The reason we went was they open after 10pm. However, it turned out to be a very good experience, good food, not noisy and relaxed atimosphere. It was perfect for after-concert friends get together.
Dinner with family while on vacation
Great Happy Hour, food and service. This is a beautiful venue with a really great staff!
A wonderful place for lunch and dinner. We had the lobster cobb salad for lunch and it was so good! The dressing they make is wonderful, and Robin is such a super server! She is always so nice and professional, but fun. We will be back.
Blu is a great location with a quiet atmosphere appropriate for any special occasion.
We loved the service, food quality and the neighborhood. I was expecting more options on the menu. I felt the space was tight.
Sushi order was delivered to the table wrong, rice was mushy, will not go back
It was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised. The server was patient (our friends were late) and did not push. The food was fresh and all the flavors were spot on. The menu is very creative, with a reliance on Asian fusion. Definitely a return visit in the future.
We lone Blu but unfortunately this time service was poor. We’ve never expected this before. Food was great.
Always consistent. Great place, service is good and the food is so good
We love Blu, every time we visit the restaurant it is always great and the service excellent.
We sat outside so there was noise from the traffic, to expected. The service was very prompt our server Nicolletta (sp) was very attentive.
All the food was exceptional
Salmon chips, scallop risotto, grouper schnitzel were all terrific
Loved it!! The food was amazing and the service was outstanding.
As always, Blu is a great choice for dinner on the Avenue. Food and service is always top notch!
Sat outside smoke from another diner was annoying. Service was excellent. My Caesar salad was very fresh
Great meal with Happy Hour drinks on Park Avenue with our Portuguese Water Dogs
Great food! We will go back.
Food was very good as was the service. Great restaurant for casual dinner or special occasion.
Great Restaurant. Waitress was friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. Delicious food and drinks.
Great food and service. Frequent visits to dine here after a Rollins College program. Menu includes same choices each time but they are well prepared and interesting.
-If you do not smoke, get ready to start. The restaurant has an outside sitting area that allows smokers to light one up. The massive sliding doors will allow a gentle warm breeze from that will also drag in all the smoke.
- The food was cold
- Too much salt in everything.
- The tables are so close to each other you can join the conversation of other customers.
Blu always delivers excellent service and wonderful food.
This past week, I've been to Blu twice, accompanied by three different people. This is an excellent place for a casual meal, with good, creative, cuisine and an excellent location. The restaurant is comfortable and has a great location. The staff is excellent. The sushi is excellent, and happy hour is a bargain. The prices are reasonable. Since my daughter goes to school in the area, I expect to be back on multiple occasions, and I look forward to repeat visits.
