blu on the Avenue Ratings and Reviews
-If you do not smoke, get ready to start. The restaurant has an outside sitting area that allows smokers to light one up. The massive sliding doors will allow a gentle warm breeze from that will also drag in all the smoke.
- The food was cold
- Too much salt in everything.
- The tables are so close to each other you can join the conversation of other customers.
This past week, I've been to Blu twice, accompanied by three different people. This is an excellent place for a casual meal, with good, creative, cuisine and an excellent location. The restaurant is comfortable and has a great location. The staff is excellent. The sushi is excellent, and happy hour is a bargain. The prices are reasonable. Since my daughter goes to school in the area, I expect to be back on multiple occasions, and I look forward to repeat visits.
Great food. Server was extremely slow. It took 15 minutes just to get water. Another 30 after that to get our order. The waitress came 2 different times to our table and said that our dessert is on the way, but the funny thing is we never told her what we wanted for dessert yet. And then it took another 30 minutes to pay the check (only after I sadi something.) We were there a total of three hours. We will not be returning.
The food was terrific- we were there to try out the Magical Dining menu- which did not disappoint. I had the beet salad & salmon. Both were nice portion sizes and so delicious. The dessert wasn't as impressive- we chose the Oreo brownie. It was too chewy... but that didn't stop us from enjoying our night.
Highly recommend this place
We dined here during Magical Dining. The best part of the evening was our service. John Henry was excellent and proved that being kind and welcoming new diners during magical dining month will bring customers back. Our dinners were prepared beautiful, we had the salmon and beef tips. Looking forward to the next visit... already know what I'm going to choose next!
Very enjoyable late lunch experience from beginning to end. Blu has an active bar section with tables while also providing another dining area behind a partial wall for those seeking a bit more privacy. The service was impeccable - warm and highly competent. My wife and I had a green salad and a Caesar salad and both were very fresh as well as quite large. We both had the Norwegian salmon with blueberry-horseradish topping (the topping seems an odd combination but the taste was unique and very pleasing) and it was cooked perfectly. A wonderful indulgence. The chocolate and the key lime pie truffles desserts topped off the meal in fine fashion. We highly recommend Blu as an excellent choice if you are looking for terrific food and service in an establishment suited for the casual and special occasion diner alike.
I was meeting friends who were in town for business and we were able to sit and visit before and after our meal without feeling rushed but Sammy was attentive and very helpful!
The food was excellent! I chose the restaurant for the summer Prix Fixe menu but we all chose entrees for less food and a appetizer. We had the outstanding smoked fish spread with naan.
Blu is a great spot, the food is always consistently delicious, and service is friendly and welcoming! The bar is filled with great bartenders who make you smile and those drinks are so yummy. It is truly a favorite place to enjoy a night out... Love that Lobster grilled cheese!!!
One great thing about Blu in the Avenue is you can still get a dozen Oyster is for under $20. It's one of those great restaurants where you can get a great cheeseburger or a filet mignon anytime of the day. If you like your cocktails more than wine, they've got a great back bar. If you like a great bottle of wine, they've got that also.
Although I have dined at blu on the Avenue numerous times, last evening has to be the best! The service was exceptional and all the food was delicious. The beet salad is outstanding! And the grouper was perfect. The brownie dessert was the icing on the cake! Definitely will return....may order the same meal again!
I brought my mom and wife here for Mother's Day and we had a great time. It wasn't super crowded and our waiter Michael was very good. The food was excellent and even a picky eater like my dad was satisfied. I look forward to coming back for my second visit!
First time to have dinner but will return. Attentive server, Jose, provided gracious , unobtrusive service. Interesting cocktails on the menu but had favorite Campari and soda. Norwegian Salmon was artfully presented and tasted delicious with accompaniments of mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Finished off with a Grand Marnier and coffee for a perfect dinner before a concert. Interesting waterfall at the bar area. Highly recommended.
