Had a great time. My wife had the lobster roll, which was very good, I had the fish tacos, also very good.
Out waitress was excellent. Very attentive and informative.
Excellent table looking out towards Park Ave.
Must go here again.
The food was creative and delicious, the service was attentive and friendly, and we had a great time celebrating my wife's birthday. I can't wait to return.
We ate at blu on the Avenue in downtown Winter Park for the first time ever on 1/15/19 and had a WONDERFUL lunch. Choosing what to have from the menu was NOT easy because so many of the options presented sounded so unique and inviting. The service was excellent, albeit a bit slow. In defense of the kitchen and waiting staff, we were there during the business lunch hour and there were a fair number of other patrons. As a retired person on a "budget" income a sandwich lunch bumping the $25-30/person level is a bit rich for my blood on a regular basis. I will, however, be back. The food is just too good to not return!
Great burgers, seafood, Old Fashions, & outdoor dining. Great brunch, happy hour, Mimosas,etc...
We had lunch at 12:15 on a weekday and the restaurant was out of four different items we attempted to order from the menu. Food was very good but didn’t seem quite up to their usual excellent standard. Perhaps we hit them on an off day.
Four of us had dinner. Initially the service was deadly, thought they went to a local liquor store to get my
Scotch. Service did pickup after that, Food was excellent , two of us had swordfish which was excellent cooked moist not overdone. Would repeat and recommend.
A relaxing lunch with great food food including some nice sushi rolls. Bloody Mary there is always great. Nice place to meet friends to chat and relax.
Change of menu since last visit. More limited. Food was ok.
This was our first time at blu and we were very pleasantly surprised. We had the crab flatbread for our appetizer. It was tasty but a little short on the crab. My wife had the lobster roll which she thought was very good. It had a fair amount of lobster meat and was prepared well. I had the swordfish which was a good portion nice and moist served with grilled brussels sprouts that were excellent. We has the chocolate brownie with ice cream for desert. It was OK, but I would try a different one next time. We will definitely
eat there again.
Went to a concert and headed here after. Ambiance is good, service was great and food was also great. Would def go back again. My fav were the oysters!
I celebrated my birthday with friends. We were seated at a high top in the bar, although I had requested a quiet table with additional space for gifts. Not a problem since it was a weeknight and it wasn’t too crowed. Our server was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered several appetizers and salads followed by sushi rolls. All dishes were fresh and flavorful. I especially enjoyed the Creme brûlée dessert!
Our new favorite place. That is all.
Thanksgiving dinner was fantastic. Loved the Brussels sprouts. The regular menu looks great. Will go back soon.
The food, service and ambience were perfect. I highly recommend.
I was pleased with the food. However there is no real effort in the design or hospitality of the restaurant. The bare table, the uncomfortable chairs does not make you want to spend there any time.
I had an important business partner for dinner and since he likes seafood we went there. I would have rather go to Luma on the Park again, than going back to blu.
The waitress was friendly.
Birthday! Fantastic waitress! Love sitting outside & love their Old Fashions!
My friend and I went to Blu on Saturday and it was so good that I brought a group of friends back the next day for Sunday brunch. It was a delicious meal with great drinks. The service is good, too! I love how you can people watch.. haha sounds weird but it's a really good spot for it :p
Great little place in the heart of Winter Park. Good seafood and sushi, good for people watching I’m sure but we were there on a Sunday night so it was nice quiet evening just with my wife. Loved the Carrot Cake!
The food was very good and our waitress very attentive. I had the grouper which was done just right and my husband had the lobster carbonara also very good. The drinks were good and not skimpy. Would definitely return and recommend.
This was brunch for 14 with out of town family the day after a big event. Table was in the perfect location within the restaurant- we almost felt like we had a private room. Our server was fantastic & the drink and food pacing was perfect. Best Bloody Marys, too. My only negative was that the Monte Cristo was very dry and a little bland. Everyone else seemed to very much enjoy their food, though, and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Thank you.
My husband and I chose this restaurant for Sunday brunch based on the menu and location. We were not disappointed. We sat facing the avenue for great people watching. Nico, our server, was amazing and attentive. And the food... yum! The salmon chip appetizer was absolutely delicious. We followed that with entrees (my hubby the lobster Cobb, me lobster grilled cheese) that did not skimp on the good stuff! We liked it so much we are making the long drive this weekend to have dinner!
The food was overall great. I was not impressed with our waitress hence the 4 stars instead of 5. The food was a 5
Nice evening and good service! Mains were good as well! Casual environment, good drinks and decent wine list!
I could not get a reservation for Garp and Fuss (sic), so I opted for Blu based on the 4.5 rating on Open Table. Sorry, but I was a little disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high. Walking into Blu, it has the WP Park Ave. vibe, casual but smart. The bar looked like it was doing a decent Friday night business. I think Blu might be a great place for cocktails. I started with a Napa Red blend which was not the best, but that also may be my personal taste.
The wine list is pretty good. My wife enjoyed one of her 'go-to' Pinot Grigios. We started with edamame. It was ok but average, prepared with salt. There is so much more that can be dome with edamame. I had one of the specials Tilefish with a shrimp risotto accompanied with a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc (I love NZ Sauvignon Blanc). I was enjoying the dish until I had a piece with the skin still attached to the fish...ugh. The rest of the fish had a fishy taste. Not sure how fresh the fish was but the fish skin was a deal breaker for me. My wife had a steak filet which she enjoyed. Blu seems like a great place for cocktails/drinks and probably a good place for lunch when on Park Ave. For dinner, it appears ok but don't expect to be bowled over with a gastronomical delight.
Blu is always fun! Great Old Fashions, happy hour, fabulous burgers! Love the outdoor seating !
Great food and atmosphere!
Delicious food, friendly service, great customer service. We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday brunch experience.
Friday evening we had a lovely time sitting outside of Blu, our food was excellent but the service was superb!
Our entrees were perfect! I had the Shrimp and Grits and my husband had the Norwegian Salmon. Both were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The atmosphere outside on Park Ave. was great for a date night! Would definitely recommend and plan on returning again soon.
I took my girlfriend out for dinner and we chose Blu. We made reservations, arrived early and were immediately seated and taken care of. Great food, great service and a great atmosphere. I recommend it to anyone who wants a nice date night out.
Blue never disappoints! We love dining at the restaurant and even have friends from out of town request to go back once we've taken them there once! PS- They have the best Old Fashioned!
This was our first time at BLU. We had the most spectacular service by our waiter Joe.
Great drinks, modern atmosphere, outdoor dining, great looking bar. Food was great, She-Crab mac and cheese was incredible. No one was disappointed in there meal...salmon, shrimp noodles, filet.
Good desserts too!
1st visit. Pleasantly surprised with food and service. Will return soon.
Great dining experience at Soco. Loved the menu for magical dining month! Cocktails were great as well.
Service was very good considering we had a group of 18. The server was attentive and efficient with the exception that bread was not given until
We requested for it. The menu has a big selection of imaginative creations but the actual food served came short
of gourmet quality for the price. The lobster rolls are tiny, the lobster carbonara is very salty and the pancetta are hard and chewy. Only the Norwegian salmon hit the perfect note. The restaurant has good ambiance . All in all a good place to spend time with friends.
Birthday celebration! Everything was perfect, service and food were excellent.
Horrible service. Food wasn’t bad but the lack of attention ruins the experience. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
Dinner was ok. The fries accompanying all meals were overly salted. Truth be told, informed server too late into meal fir her to repair.
Not Good, the food was not prepared right, I ordered my steak med, it was raw (almost) waited to tell my server, but after about 10 minutes, I gave up, and try to eat it ..( ugh ) the place was VERY loud , I could not hear the person across from me ... Not Fine Dining .... it was table to table, no room between tables ..... not what I expected ...... Will not be back ....
