Extremely happy we chose Blu while in the area to see a play. The Brie empanada appetizer was incredibly rich, imaginative and fun. The scallop m pork belly appetizer, though small, was thoroughly satisfying, and the rack of lamb entree was exactly how meat always wants to taste, but doesn’t always achieve. Tender, melt in your mouth, savory perfection. The waitstaff was more than accommodating of our relaxed schedule and never rushed us while we enjoyed wine and the view.
We celebrated my birthday. Good was just ok... nothing special, it sounds more delicious on the menu description then actual taste. My duck had no flavor.
Best part of all dinner was the view!
Nice atmosphere. Great view of the city. Delicious food.
We had a delightful dinner celebrating my wife's birthday. Seating was very comfortable (we had a table for 5) and we were not rushed at all. Would recommend to anyone celebrating an event or just for a night out.
Food and ambience were excellent. Highly recommended. The floor could have used one more waiter to make timeliness and efficiency stronger.
Great service and beautiful views! The meal was delicious.
Came for the view, stayed for the view. Food was good as well.
one of the best places in Boston for a quiet business lunch in a spectacular urban setting.
The butternut squash should and Vegan feats was very well prepared. My boyfriend tried the scallops with lobster risotto and was very pleased as well! The service was very good and the view was fantastic!
Great food and view our Waiter didn't pay much attention to us though, maybe because it was a busy night
Great service, nice ambiance. The food was just okay. For the cost I would have expected a little better quality and flavors
We love this restaurant. Spectacular food, wonderful service. Great atmosphere and views. Real gem.
Food: I can appreciate clean and simple cuisine, however, I found all the dishes to lack much needed seasoning.
We ordered the scallop/pork belly dish and lobster salad appetizer. Scallops were gritty but cooked appropriately and served on top of the pork belly which took away the crunch factor. The salad was my favorite dish. Perfectly dressed and lobster was prepared well. Our entrees included an over-cooked ribeye steak and a bolognese that was oddly reminiscent of chef Boyardee. The ribeye had a nice crust but was medium to medium well in some parts and it was ordered medium rare. Those who are fans of a sweeter, tomato purée-like sauce may enjoy it. Needless to say, we didn’t stay for dessert.
Service: it’s hard to say service is horrible if there isn’t any. I appreciated that our waiter was a straight to the point kind of guy. He took our order once and served us food. No small talk, perfect. We waited 10-15 mins with empty cocktail glasses until he came by to collect the empty glasses without asking if we’d like another beverage. We patiently waited for him to collect our other used dishes before interrupting his race to the finish line. He was clearly busy because he didn’t stop moving for a minute but I wasn’t there to time his speed. I just wanted a drink. We told him about the steak when he collected the plates, as a suggestion to the chef so no one else would have the same problem, but he inspected the half I cut up (to show the uneven over-cooking) in the light and nodded in agreement followed by an “okay”. Good talk.
Overall: This would be great for the bar area.
Was an amazing valentines dinner !!! We loved our sever and the food was outstanding . We were seated right on time and were happy to get great seats and the view is amazing !!! Can’t wait to go back
Went there for Valentine's Day and the atmosphere and views were great. Very little noise, good waitstaff and food was good, not the best, but then again the price was a good value for an upscale setting.
Came here for lunch on Valentine’s Day for lunch and had a lovely experience! Food was great, but the view was better! We will definitely be coming back. We had Will as a server and he was incredibly helpful with the menu and made good suggestions. Thanks for a great meal Blu!
The staff were very helpful and accommodating, the food was delicious and the view was terrific. We had an overall wonderful experience.
Great view of theater district, interesting building architecture in restaurant area. Food was excellent all around - appetizers, salmon entree, lamb entree, and dessert. Wines were outstanding as was the coffee. The entry through a cafe and adjacent to a health club is a little odd but once you're in the restaurant you forget about that and the atmosphere is very nice. We'll be back!
We were bummed out because they would not honor our Travelzoo voucher, and didn't make us any offer to stay, but instead suggested we move to the bar for a drink.
We decided to stay and eat at full price anyway.
We came to blu before the theater. We were promptly seated at a lovely table with an view of Washington st. Our waiter was very professional , he didn’t t rush us but was there when needed . The kale salad was excellent , wine and beer list presented good choices. We enjoyed fusilli and fig and goat cheese flat bread , both well prepared and very tasty . Good place , nice view , not too pricey , we will return .
