Waiter was not attentive. Did not replace forks after appetizer and did not refill water glasses. Kitchen was super slow and this we had to skip dessert.
Interesting option for restaurant week, but the setting within a gym was just not for me. The restaurant (and view!!) itself are lovely, but you can hear the buzz of gymgoers in the distance and there's lots of coming and going in gym clothes. Bartender was great .
The place was wonderful and the service outstanding. The staff was very polite and served all our needs in a timely manner. Very good food and atmosphere, would recommend 100%!
The ambiance and food was fantastic. I don't usually like cod, but this was a happy exception. And the dessert with a creme brulee inside a chocolate cake was lovely. We came to Blu from the south and loved the easy access to the 93. And parking was easy and cheap when validated.
Overall we had a great experience. Or server Val was truly excellent and we had a lovely table. They accommodated an unexpected extra guest with grace and overall we had a great time. The drinks were excellent. The one area that was hit or miss was the food. Overall it was very good but the Caesar salad was poorly done and the truffle fries were only so so. On the other hand the chicken and shrimp scampi entrees were excellent as was the calamari app. Dessert was also very good.
Our 41 st anniversary
Why ask us that?
Your waiter acknowledged it was our anniversary and said his boss does nothing to acknowledge it
In fact last June when we came the waiter brought my husband cake with candle
I have the picture
We couldn’t order a drink just wine.
We couldn’t pay an up charge and order a steak. It was only 1.00 more!
We won’t be back.
Anyone with a special occasion is treated royally at Capital Grille.
They are fabulous, from the minute you walk in till you leave
To blame Travelzoo was ridiculous
The manager should have come over and made things right
Don’t bother asking if it’s a special occasion when you have no intention on doing anything. So disappointed
great spot for a business lunch. Stunning location/visuals - very quiet - plus excellent service and food.
Awesome view! Awesome Lamb!
The food was good (artichoke risotto in particular was memorable), and quick to arrive after we placed our orders. However, the service was not good. Though I did most of the ordering, the waiter only looked at and replied to my husband. When the check came, he gave it to my husband and then, after processing the payment, handed the check back to my husband even though I had very visibly been the one to pull out my card. He was also extremely inattentive - did not check in once to see if we needed anything throughout the course of the meal.
The waiter was young and I hope he was just having a bad day, but the poor service was noted. There are several other restaurants in the area with equal-to-better food and significantly better service - it's unlikely we'll be back to Blu.
I went with a friend - first time there for her - she could not stop raving about the food, the view and the excellent service that we received - and yes she and I will be returning in the very near future
We have been here before, and were looking forward to a nice meal pre-theatre, and for a birthday. Greeted and sat promptly. Waiter seemed good but got progressively worse, to point of disappearing after leaving dessert menus. Shared split salads, too small to share, 1 brie crouton ea, with brie highlighted in salad description. Vegetable sides, very small, and I am not a big eater. Entree delicious otherwise. Finally, given dessert menu, waiter never to be seen again. Finally we flagged down hostess, as we needed to leave. Hostess got a dessert to go for friend who had birthday. Waiter still MIA.
Great food and a great view.
The view was outstanding!! The food and service were good as well. I thought pricing was a little high especially when you come out into the lobby of equinox and Blu is sort of hidden in a corner of that Lobby. But overall is a great spot to enjoy dinner and a view!!!
Delightful dinner, great table, wonderful wait service by DANIEL!
We arrived early for our reservation but weee seated right away. Our server was pleasant, helpful and considerate of our slower pace to order. The food was delicious, fresh and prepared wonderfully. The ambiance was beautiful as we looked out the floor to ceiling windows onto the street as the lights of the city came alive. Definitely a recommended spot
Excellent service, good food, and nice ambiance. It was quiet the day we were there for lunch due to a big Nor'easter but that just added to the charm. The view down Washington St. is pretty cool.
Dinner before the theatre. Had reservation for 2 and when we saw friends, the hostess was very kind and moved us where our friends were located. Val was our waiter and he was great. Dinners (ravioli's and strip steak) were very good. Good wine choices too!
Great ambiance. Ask for a window seat overlooking theaters, it has a little NYC feel to the view. Excellent food!
Good location, great view, nice ambiance and good service, but the quality of the food was very uneven. Salads very limp and fish and meat overcooked.
The service was very slow and impersonal, and the food was only mediocre. The most disappointing part is that in the middle of our meal we saw a mouse scurry across the dining room and back into the kitchen. This made our stomachs churn and we basically just wanted to get out of there. Really disappointing experience and will never return here.
Food was very good and service was great. Only complaint was that I had mentioned in my reservation that it was an anniversary celebration (27 years) and nothing was mentioned.
So, my Hubby and I haven't dined there in quite a while and thought we would revisit the restaurant. The Bad: Well, that was just about everything from the minute we were seated - the service was non-existent. First, I noted my allergies on my reservation before hand. Second, Waiter had approximately 12 - 15 tables, no other Waiters available - on a Saturday night - terrible. Third - Even though I discussed my allergies and even though they were noted - bread came with the ingredient I'm allergic to. When I discussed this with the Waiter, he said he forgot - I requested a Manager, Danyiella came over to the table. I explained all issues we were having thus far, She seemed surprised and said she would take care of everything. So, our entrees were served - again had to request ground black pepper. No one ever checked with us seeing if everything was okay, even though Danyiella assured us she would be handling everything earlier when she was at the table. Not sure what that meant as she did very little After finishing our entrée, we waited with dishes piled on the table for at least 10-15 minutes - I finally walked over to the hostess area and explained what was going on - Danyiella again seemed surprised our Server didn't check on us, but said he was overwhelmed - really?? - that was the best she could do. But what really surprised my Hubby and I is we received the check and was told the desserts were being taken care of - honestly, they should have done better than that, however the desserts were on the bill. I went over again to the hostess stand and Danyiella once again came over to our table - she seemed to know nothing about the desserts being complimentary and said she would have to check and than came back and told us, the kitchen staff sent these out to us. As a Manager, you would think Danyiella would have had the common courtesy to do much better based on everything I reported to her multiple times during the night.
While our overall experience at Blu was fine, I WAS surprised that when the 5 of us arrived at 5:00, as the very first guests, they had NO knowledge of our reservation that I had made several weeks before with Open Table. Thank God I had the confirmation # and email on my phone and we were seated at a table in the corner. We all enjoyed our meals of salmon and swordfish. Several hours later, however, I was quite perplexed when I received an email from Open Table saying that we never showed up for our reservation! Of course, I responded that we had INDEED eaten at the restaurant at 5:00, as was our reservation. It was ALL a bit confusing and I don't know why!
Blu is our "go to" restaurant for pre-theater at the Opera House. It's convenient and the food is consistently good.
I took my adult daughter here before we attended a 7:00 show down the street. We were seated right next to the glass windows right over the street - our view was wonderful! We both had fish dishes which were delicious. We had an early dinner on a Wed. night, so it was not crowded. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed our meal. I will go back. The only thing that's a little strange is going in via Equinox and, when I first exited the elevator, being momentarily confused that the club's cafe was the restaurant.
I happened been here in a long time and it was nice and relaxing vs the busy scenes at seaport area. Service was great and would go back!
Been here several times before theater performances. Love the view and location. However, this time I ordered short ribs that were mostly bone and fat. Very little meat. Was extremely disappointing. Not sure if I would go back.
A truly terrific restaurant. Great food, fast courteous service, amazing view, kind of on the pricey side but if you can afford it, well worth it.
Extremely happy we chose Blu while in the area to see a play. The Brie empanada appetizer was incredibly rich, imaginative and fun. The scallop m pork belly appetizer, though small, was thoroughly satisfying, and the rack of lamb entree was exactly how meat always wants to taste, but doesn’t always achieve. Tender, melt in your mouth, savory perfection. The waitstaff was more than accommodating of our relaxed schedule and never rushed us while we enjoyed wine and the view.
We celebrated my birthday. Good was just ok... nothing special, it sounds more delicious on the menu description then actual taste. My duck had no flavor.
Best part of all dinner was the view!
Nice atmosphere. Great view of the city. Delicious food.
We had a delightful dinner celebrating my wife's birthday. Seating was very comfortable (we had a table for 5) and we were not rushed at all. Would recommend to anyone celebrating an event or just for a night out.
Food and ambience were excellent. Highly recommended. The floor could have used one more waiter to make timeliness and efficiency stronger.
Great service and beautiful views! The meal was delicious.
Came for the view, stayed for the view. Food was good as well.
one of the best places in Boston for a quiet business lunch in a spectacular urban setting.
The butternut squash should and Vegan feats was very well prepared. My boyfriend tried the scallops with lobster risotto and was very pleased as well! The service was very good and the view was fantastic!
Great food and view our Waiter didn't pay much attention to us though, maybe because it was a busy night
Great service, nice ambiance. The food was just okay. For the cost I would have expected a little better quality and flavors
We love this restaurant. Spectacular food, wonderful service. Great atmosphere and views. Real gem.
