Great pre theater food and service. Always an excellent choice.
Fabulous views, great service and consistently delicious food!!
Highly recommend Blu.
We had an amazing meal before Hamilton. The food and scenery where spectacular. It's kind of hard to find. Go to the door that says Equinox. Blu is on the 4th floor. I'd call it a hidden jem.
Went to restaurant before Hamilton. Wanted to make it a nice evening. The ambiance and location was perfect for the occasion. I had the swordfish dish. Very good. Have already recommended to a friend.
I dine out a lot. Blu proved yet again to be in my top ten downtown destinations.
Stopped for dinner before a show. Awesome scenery, great food, good service. Worth the stop.
The view was incredible, service was great, food was very good. A great place to go before a Show!
Food was delicious!! Our waiter was excellent. Look forward to returning.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service, having been disappointed a few years ago. We definitely will return for pre-theater dining.
My father came to town and wanted the full boston experience, so i had to take him to my favorite place in Boston ! Blu always has the absolute best service, food, and atmosphere — it was the perfect place for him to meet my boyfriend for the first time !
Dramatic ambiance for a celebratory dinner, view and lighting. Attentive service and good food. Easy validated parking in Millennium Place garage.
Went because it was close to theater and we were able to get a reservation. Nice find as we knew nothing about it. Waiter was superb and the food was very good.
Great place to grab dinner before a show. Interesting menu, good food and great ambience. Prices do not break the bank for Boston.
Thoughtfully prepared food, especially the shared tapas appetizer. Great service - attentive but not overly so. Scallops were fresh but a little gritty on top of only lukewarm risotto. I would have preferred a plain grilled fresh fish with fresh vegetables ( like the swordfish on offer) but not over rich lobster mashed potatoes as the swordfish was. Menu a little too rich for my taste.
Great place to go before theater. The food was delicious and the view is terrific! I was a little surprised when I got off the elevator and walk through the Jim part but the restaurant is really nice and the waiter was terrific. We were late and I didn’t think we would have enough time to eat since fine dining can sometimes take a while. The food came out quickly and it was still beautiful and delicious
perfect for dinner before going to Broadway Boston at the Opera House. Flow of service allowed us plenty of time to get to the show yet still felt relaxed and unhurried. Food was delicious. Will plan to go here more times during our season subscription
Great menu. Service was good. A perfect spot for pre-theatre.
Early dinner before the theater, gorgeous view, served quickly with a kind funny server, delicious food prepared beautifully. I would return
Pre-theater, very nice place, recommended by a friend.
A lovely birthday dinner among friends--great cocktails and wine list for celebrating. Menu could use more vegetarian options, otherwise delicious. Fantastic views of downtown Boston and theater marquees.
Great view. Nice place. Average food with no taste 2nd time in a row. We will not be back
I went to Blu for a Pre-theater dinner with friends. The food and service were excellent!!!
The food was incredible, the view was fantastic, and the service was superb.
We came for dinner with our German friends. They aren't so easily impressed with restaurants, but both said they enjoyed their meals and liked the atmosphere. We could hear one-another, which is what we came for. My husband and I also had excellent choices. Hats off to the chefs.
We were there for an anniversary dinner along with pre-theatre dinner. The ambiance was wonderful. The feel of the evening was relaxing and felt like we were at home. Our waiter was young and a good conversationist. The view was interesting looking over the architecture in the theatre district. The food was exceptional with a great twist of accompaniments with each meal The sea scallops with lobster risotto was outstanding. The cod with spaghetti squash was just as good and delicious. We would recommend Blu to anyone who is looking for a great meal.
The view was terrific - looking right out to the theatres before the show. Our waiter could have been a little more attentive. Drinks were left empty and dinner order was taken once we were done with appetizer.
Fish was over cooked. Appetizer lamb lollipops over cooked. It felt like the food was precooked and reheated or finished. Very dry.
We went to Blu before seeing Hamilton. Our waiter was amazing. It was so busy in there, yet he was able to get us fed and out in time for the show!
The food was good and the view was great, but I couldn’t get past the shared space with the fitness club. You have to walk through the lobby of a gym and then a cafe (with smoothies and such- owned by Blu) to have this nice dinner. The workout music is loud and the whole experience is a cross between funny and annoying. There are just too many restaurants out there with similar food and much better ambiance to ever return.
We took our 7 year old grandson to Blu for dinner before seeing HAMILTON at the Opera House. We didn't know that there was an actual children's menu but figured we would share our meals with him because kids eat so little. He still ate little - but loved being able to select his own meal and the kitchen made him chocolate milk, his favorite! Taking younger kids to dinner in something better than fast food can be problematic, but he loved the grown up atmosphere combined with the ability to have kid friendly food. Thank you to Blu!
Good for pre theater dinner
One block from Boston Opera House
Wonderful place for pre theater dinner. The service was great, without the usual "are we going to get in/out in time" feeling. Lobster risotto is to die for, along with the scallops and swordfish entrees, and the watermelon feta salad. Will definitely go back.
We reserved for 5:30, arrived a bit early and were seated immediately. Our server was very attentive and was able to answer most of our questions. The food was beyond fabulous. I recommend the prosciutto and fig flatbread and the fusilli. The view from the restaurant offered a great look down Washington St. I went with my parents and will absolutely take a special someone here one day.
Beautiful view out the floor to ceiling windows, but dirty.
Food was quite good
Server VERY sweet but not knowledgeable about the wine list.
Would try again in the future
Great food, service, and value. A “goto” place if you are in Boston. M
Reservation was made for 11:30 - there was no one to greet us/ show us to table by 11:37. We had to ask if restaurant was opened. Poor start to dink g experience clouded the pretty good food and service.
It is usually quieter, but there was a private function at the bar. Scenic view I mean one can look down Washington Street and see all what is going on.
We have eaten at Blu several times with pleasure. Varied seafood choices and many other fine choices, too.
There was a giant happy bday party in a nearby room so the noise level was higher than usual.
Nevertheless, we ate v tasty starters- beef carpaccio, a mushroom soup and caprese salad. Entrees just great- Bolognese sauce over spaghetti squash and the striped bass with egg
Just too full for dessert.
Wanted to recognize our server but we hadn't caught his name. Our meals served promptly so we could head over to the ballet without having to rush. Hooray Blu!!
The valet parking is $40.00!!
Underwhelming experience. We started out with a great app (tapas) however the rest of the meal was not good. Both my wife and I had issues with our meals. I got the rack of lamb which was under cooked and my wife had the lobster sandwich. The bread on her sandwich was burnt and tasted like Charcoal. The waiter could not have cared less. I will say it’s a cool spot and has great views. It’s also close to the theatre however it’s not worth th price to have dinner here.
