Salads were great.
Burgers were undercooked and not seared. With all the condiments, bun should have been toasted, as it absorbed the condiments and cooked onions. Lettuce on the burgers was very wet...should have been washed per procedure and dried prior to service on the burger.
Need more choices besides coffee and tea, big let down.

Blu Café is a unique and wonderful experience. The décor is high class, even though it is located in a high school. The food is a gourmet experience with outstanding presentation and flavor. The service is wonderful, friendly and courteous. It is a favorite spot for us. The only drawback is the limited time it is open -- based on the school calendar.

A restaurant run by teenagers might scare some but this was a great experience. The food was very good and the service was spectacular. Everyone was so polite and very eager to help. Really enjoyed the experience and will come back here regularly during the school year when it is open.

We really enjoy dining at Blu'. The food is great, people are very nice and friendly, and we appreciate the students having a high quality program such as this to learn in!

Anytime someone can feature or citizens of tomorrow engaged to make a difference, that is my first choice. New Friend, old friend; business or pleasure. The food is amazing; not amazing for youth; just flat amazing! The menu changes frequently and is innovative; never disappointing in quality or quantity! Tuesday - Friday during a semester, except the first and last months of a semester.

Blu is one of our favorite lunchtime treats for small groups or just a table for two to catch up on the latest news. The restaurant is busy but quiet enough to hear everyone at the table.The table service is spot-on. The butternut squash soup was heavenly! Although I am NOT a fan of Brussels sprouts, the crispy Brussels sprouts dish made me rethink that opinion! Highly recommended!

I love the fact that this high school program exists. The food was good, an excellent value, and the kids did a great job taking care of us.

The staff- students were very nice, however when questioned about the food our waitress could not answer questions, like what kind of bread sandwich was on- simple things. Also the food was good tasting , however had to send soup back to be reheated because it was cold- room temp, and the fries were cold and soggy also- not even warm. The sandwich was quite good. My friends chicken fried steak was hot.

Four of us came to Blu on a Friday. The food was really quite bad....no taste and poorly done. Kale salad truly not edible. Chicken fried steak was just so-so. Crème Brule was not finished properly and the taste very thick, more like pudding than it should have been. Nothing special about the meals at all.
Last year, you couldn't get in this restaurant, especially on a Friday. This year, we brought our friends thinking we would again have a good experience. Very few people were even there during lunch. Almost all tables empty.
Looks to us like Blu has a new head Chef and things are not like they were. Blu was a true gem of a place....it's diner-like now.

First if all, kudos to Allen High School for the support and inception of such a concept. The culinary program is incredible at this school. The skill and dedication show in their product. It's easy to forget that this is not a regular restaurant, but instead a training program ran by students who are learning! The dishes the students produce are restaurant quality and then some. Our salads, sandwiches, burgers, entrees and desserts were so delicious. Kale salad was about as perfect as they come. Chocolate cake was delectable as well. The coordination, prebussing and delivery of our meal was executed so well. We can't wait to go back!

We ate at Blu on Friday when they had a chicken fried steak buffet. While the buffet was great, I was looking forward to having a full menu to choose from. I guess we will just have to make a return visit!

This was my first time at Blu and I really enjoyed it. The food is prepared by students who did a fabulous job balancing flavors and the kids who were our servers were very professional. The country fried steak was delicious! Can't wait to go back and try something new!

Blu was very clean, the server was friendly and efficient, the food was attractively presented and delicious!! We will definitely return and also recommend Blu to our friends.

This is a place to see young high school students learn and apply the skills taught to them during the school year. Great food and lots of good service. Thank you Allen ISD.

Having been curious for a while, a friend and I decided to try Blu for lunch. It is the "lab restuarant/ kitchen" for Allen ISD's food service training program. It was wonderful! The salads were perfect, fresh and large. The parmesean crusted chicken was juicy, crispy and yummy! The place itself is very pretty and clean. The service was prompt, polite and cheerful. I will be returning for the special dinner service in May with a larger group.

Give Blu a try; you are in for a treat! This program is something for Allen ISD to be commended for; these students are getting excellent training for careers in food service and hospitality.

The lunch was pleasant and the staff was very nice. Celebrating a 79th birthday they sang and made guest welcome. The background noise was a bit more than I had hoped for but not sure how that can be helped in its location. Thanks!

Great lunch from the students at AHS

Waiter was extremely nervous. Ordered food and was brought something else entirely. When I told waiter, I just told him I would eat it anyway, and he seemed relieved. Other person ordered extra crispy bacon-had to send it back because it did not come out that way. When sent back, the bread was cold. I have had more pleasant experiences there.

Thank you for your wonderful service. This was the first time my husband has been to Blu. He was amazed. Keep up the great work everyone. We'll be back. Great menu.

Because this is a learning restaurant, I made a comment to the waitress that my steak ordered medium was actually quite rare. I kept it and enjoyed it. The chef sent word back that he appreciated the critique. The waitress brought my wife and I a free dessert for the critique. I appreciated it but felt badly then for commenting.

I have eaten at Blu two times and have thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Very reasonably priced and the wait staff (students) are always on top of everything. Will definitely come back!

A wonderful experience for the students and community.

The service, food & atmosphere were all great. I love being part of the students working and learning.

We are 8 ladies who reside at Heritage Ranch and in 2012 heard about Blu Restaurant. We held our Holiday Luncheon there and enjoyed it so much it was decided to try it again this year. Butternut squash soup was had by all: it was not ice cold but cooler then room temp and needed salt. The main course was the tenderloin pork which was tender and tasty but like the vegetables was cooler than room temperature. I would hope the restaurant gets heat lamps to keep the food, especially in winter warm if not hot. The wait staff and greeters were all very pleasant and obviously trying to learn proper serving techniques. We all left tips because of the staff. Do not know if we will try it again. Great entergetic kids work in this restaurant and out to please.

we have eaten here 3 times & like the well-prepared meals. the prices are reasonable so its a good opportunity to try some different items. the decor is great & we like the enthusiasm of the young people. we plan to return & take friends who have never been.

We took my parents to Blu the week after Thanksgiving. The menu was limited but had wonderful entrees for the holidays. We all ordered different items and each one was outstanding! The sides and desserts were delicious. The students servers were attentive and pleasant. We'll be back and have recommended Blu to friends!!

I've been here twice and both times I've been super impressed with the service provided and the food! Highly recommended.

This was my first visit to the Allen High School Blu cafe. I found the students and advisors who run the restaurant to be enthusiastic about the restaurant and highly capable of running the restaurant. The food was cooked well and presented nicely. I hope to return again soon to try other items on the menu.

We were a party of 5 and everyone was very pleased with the food, service and facilities. The waiters were helpfull and the cost was reasonable. We tried soup, salads, main meals and deserts. All were excelent and we WILL BE BACK AGAIN.

This was the fifth time I have eaten here and the third time for my sister from out of town. And as in previous visits, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed exceptional food!

Blu is a beautiful restaurant located in Allen High School. It is run by the seniors who cook the food, host and serve the food. The food is so delicious every time I have eaten there! And the service couldn't be better. I have highly recommended it to several friends!

Very pleasantly surprised - the ambiance was nothing like I expected - very tastefully decorated and very clean. Food was prepared and presented extremely well. Can't wait to go back.
