Food great, service was meh
I used opentable dining cheque here and waitress said “make sure you tip on the full amount not the deducted amount”. did so and they didn’t say thank you. food is just okay for the price.
The food and service at Katana is always outstanding!
Was fairly noisy outside - really good meal though!
Came for summerlicious. Really enjoyed the jalapeño appetizer but the portions for the mains were alright. Satisfactory experience overall
Attended Summerlicious lunch - food was superb. Was very noisy, though.
Food was as good as previous visits, but our server was rude, forgot items, spilled water on one of our phones and not pleasant or helpful. Have had better service here before, but probably won’t be coming back after today. Can find better Japanese food with proper service elsewhere.
The server acted like she knew it all, but said vegetarians eat meat. I didn't like her attitude. The udon was very sour, tasted like lime only. The garden salad was great, and so was the cheesecake. I loved the decor and ambiance. It's not worth it if you're vegetarian though.
Delicious food with amazing service.
Good Summerlicious lunch experience. While nothing really wowed us, the food was tasty and the service was good. The chicken karaage was better than expected, and while everything else was good, I remembered the sake cheesecake being much better during a previous visit (seemed like they toned down on the amount of sake used). Looking forward to their next Winterlicious menu.
The food was very mediocre and overpriced. We arrived at the table first but out neighbours got their food earlier.
Really great summerlicious menu! Good menu, service and nice (but small) patio.
Came here for Summerlicious. Food was ok, have had better Japanese food. Miso cod was not strong with miso. Assorted tempura was good- nice batter. Sake cheesecake- strong sake flavour and smooth
Excellent Nigiri. Very friendly staff!
The food is fantastic. Fresh sashimi with great new fusion of sauces and flavours. Outdoor patio is very loud due to construction happening across the street. Interior is nice but why eat inside when the weather is sunny. Can't wait to go back.
We had an amazing experience at Katana for our 4th anniversary celebration. My husband and I enjoyed the quick and courteous service by all staff. We chose an assortment of dishes from the spicy salmon makimono to the beef short ribs and found them all to be super flavourful and delightful to the eye. Definitely will return again! The ambiance was also very elegant and relaxing at the same time.
Amazing service! The server was so helpful with gluten free options and brought us amazing drinks. I want to go back right now. So good.
Great service team serving high quality food and drink. Price was high even considering premium food , drink and downtown location.
The sushi quality was excellent and our non-sushi group member really enjoyed the boneless rib.
Beverages led the way on the high side.
The food was very lovely and well presented and very tasty. Very unique items on the menu which were a delight to choose from!
Visit Toronto for a weekend. Reserve this place base on open table recommendation.
Great service, very good recommended dish by the waitress but more important: nice and worm and friendly smile!
You guys seem afraid of flavour. The tuna tartar had none. We had to put mayonnaise on it. The jalepeno on the roll was non-existent.
Food was excellent and server was friendly and made some good recommendations. Very happy with the experience.
The food doesn’t meet the expectation set by this location and price range. The sushi isn’t bad, but it’s definitely not great. Service was excellent though.
In short: I’m surprised such a mediocre Japanese restaurant can survive in Toronto. Aren’t we supposed to have the best Asian food selection in North America??
Great ambiance in a sophisticated, yet FUN setting. Keep up the GREAT job.
So so noisy our server was friendly but service so slow, and there was only 5 tables in the restaurant, majority of customers at the bar and other servers and bar staff all talking with customers/friends leaving our server running round, the screeching and over the top laughing was super annoying, waited 25 minutes after finishing our main for our server to come back, so decided to just pay and leave.
Food amazing, the service not so good
This place is ridiculously overpriced for the food and the potion is small. I must say that the food is delicious but will not go back because it’s over price.
Excellent food quality. Great atmosphere. Our waitress was very polite and helpful.
It was great food but pricey.
Decent spot - pricey for the portions you receive. However, service was fantastic and will go back just for that!
This was my first visit at this restaurant and will be my last.
My experience with Winterlicious has been hit & miss lately and this one was definitely a huge miss.
Food was less than mediocre, and service was slow and inattentive. If anyone is looking for a decent Japanese food, walk over a few blocks on Adelaide and go to Nami. Way better experience for the same price.
The torched salmon is a must-try!
Went for Winterlicious on Friday. I had the jalapeno bites for the appetizer, the braised short ribs for the main, Cinnamon Donut Bites for dessert. All were excellent. I had the braised short ribs at The Bymark the week before, and the ones here were better than the Bymark (although a smaller portion here). I will definitely be coming back.
Potatoes with wasabi had none we could taste and “spicy” appetizer bland. Noodles ordered were over sweet. Appetizers small. Couldn’t talk without yelling. Best part of meal was ice cream ( some cool flavours), beef nicely done. Clean, decor ok, service good but nothing special. Overpriced.
Last year winterlicious is really good. But this year I am so disappointed. Food was too salty, environment too noisy. Not worth it.
Food is only OK. Nothing special. I think the best part of my meal was the Sake Cheesecake.
Servers are always with their fake facial motions, especially the one in the reception area, food is horrible, my sushi even not come together, rice was fallen apart when ate. The cheesecake plate was actually warm. NOT Recommend, there are thousands of other sushi places around dt, do go there.
Great food, great service.
Definitely top 3 Japanese and sushi restaurant in the Toronto. An absolute must try for anyone enjoys finest Japanese cuisine and a modern atmosphere.
The really loud nightclub music was so loud and obnoxious-not what I expect or want at a sushi place. Food was okay but will never go back.
