Dined on a Friday night to entertain an out-of-town guest. Made the mistake of parking in the lot next door which required deciphering a nearly incomprehensible payment kiosk. Ended up costing $11 for two hours of parking. Fortunately, our guest found street parking for free within 50 ft of the restaurant. Everything gets better after that.

We had reservations and were promptly seated. Our server, Cooper, quickly appeared, providing water and making an excellent wine recommendation. I was tempted by the crab ravioli but Cooper recommended the Catfish which was grilled with pimento cheese and served over shrimp and grits accompanied by fried green tomatoes. Both I and my guest ordered the catfish while my spouse ordered the crab ravioli. Cooper checked on us to top off wine glasses and provide status of our meals which arrived fast and hot. The catfish was amazing. A great entree to introduce an out-of-towner to lowcountry cuisine. My spouse said the crab ravioli was good, but perhaps lacked both the visual and taste appeal of our catfish.

Overall, a very good dining experience. Our guest, who was from West Virginia, commented that everything was simply outstanding and "just a bit cheaper than what one might find at Red Lobster." (Hooray for lowcountry cuisine raising the bar for West Virginia standards!) Kudos Blossom!

Ordered Mahi Mahi tacos and there was only one teensy pea-sized piece of fish in both tacos. Pineapple salsa was very bland. Wasn't happy with my choice. My friend had shrimp with a side of very cold mashed potatoes. I certainly was surprised as this restaurant was recommended as one of the top notch places in Charleston. Also, the restaurant was so loud I could barely hear our conversation.

The waiter was very cordial and asked me if I wanted something else and I did have mussels in cocoanut sauce. That was good.

A good choice for convenience to downtown and Charleston night life. The food is reasonably good, very typical for many restaurants in the area but doesn't approach the high-end, while table cloth cuisine and atmosphere you can get elsewhere. Seating tends to be closer together and the ambiance is a bit louder than you would expect. Ask to make sure you don't get the 4-top tables in the front hall...when the doors open you'll get quite a breeze, and everyone who comes in/out gets to see you eat.

This was a solo dinner for me while in business travel. I ate early since it was a travel day, and I was pleased with my decision to eat at Blossom. Service was snappy and my food was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to see butterbeans on the specials list, and it turns out they were fresh, local, and delicious - not what I expected for November. Food and drink were solid across the board, though the cherry-basil Manhattan was a bit sweeter than what I prefer.

Restaurant noise level was an issue for our party. We could barely hear the conversation at our table. Table linens, curtains, etc. would do a lot to quiet the restaurant. I ordered the scallops and they were delicious as was the lobster butter, however the grits were uninspired and the shrimp looked like they were frozen - not seared or seasoned at all. If the entire plate had been as delicious as the scallops, I would have rated it much higher. The fried green tomato appetizer was delicious as well but the bacon overpowered the dish. My companion ordered the fall salad with salmon. It was a disassembled salad which didn’t allow the flavors to blend. This was definitely a miss. We really enjoyed the other restaurants we tried and Charleston and won’t include Blossom as one of our favorites.

The food at Blossom is always very good and we had a very friendly and attentive server. My only concern is that it was a bit noisy where we were sitting, so it was a little hard for us to have a conversation with our table of 4.

l knew this was owned by Magnolia's and thought the menu looked interesting so we decided to go there but it wasn't as good as we were hoping. The fried green tomatoes had wonderful toppings on them but they seemed like they were prepared and not hand dipped as l thought they should have been. My friend had the She Crab Soup but it was mediocre and my husband had the lamb pizza that he said was ok but not as good as he had hoped. Our other friend had the mahi-mahi and he said his was good.

We had a very nice dinner on a busy Saturday night. The grilled sea scallops were cooked perfectly and the grits were creamy and well seasoned. The tomato butter sauce was delicious. My companion had grilled shrimp, asparagus, and grits. Her Asparagus was almost cold, but she said it was good anyway and didn’t want to send them back. The cocktails were very well made. We also shared a key lime cake that was great, light and airy, as well as a PeanutButter chocolate triffle served in a little jar. The PeanutButter mousse part was great, however the chocolate cake/cookie layer underneath was quite dry and not as sweet or flavorful as I expected of the only chocolate dessert on the menu. Perhaps a chocolate fudge or sauce layer would have moistened it, but I didn’t locate it if there was one. The waiter was very good and attentive even though they were very busy. We were seated near the open kitchen area which was busy and the dining room was full and quite loud. I would go again and have the scallops or shrimp and key lime cake as it was reasonable for the price. I would recommend it for casual dining with friends or family. For a quieter and cozier atmosphere or date night, I would recommend their sister restaurant, Magnolia.

Our meals were delicious - two different salads, the scallops and stuffed grouper. Pretty good selection of wines by the glass. We sat outside in the courtyard which sounded better than it actually was. They could do a little more to make it attractive rather than vinyl coated metal tables and chairs - perhaps cloths on the tables and a candle or little flower vase. The front indoor room looked more inviting as we left and we should have asked for a table there.

I was disappointed in the appetizer. We ordered shrimp cocktail. They were smaller and soggy. The grouper was stuffed with a crab stuffing with some crab meat. It was flavorful and prepared well.

I had that hot chicken sandwich with the brussel sprout slaw! Amazing! He was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out places that we shouldn't miss while in Charleston.

We visit Charleston once or twice a year and almost always have one dinner at Blossom. A little more casual than SNOB but still "nice enough" to count as a special meal. Was disappointed because we both wanted the swordfish and at 7:45 PM it was GONE. My blue crab ravioli was very tasty but crab wasn't very evident. Still, we'll be there next year. Restaurant changes from year to year but almost always a positive experience.

We were there for date night before heading to the theater just down the street. The atmosphere was great. They have a beautiful open truss ceiling so even with a full house of people talking it was easy to carry on a quiet conversation. The service was excellent and friendly and of course the food was delicious. Highly recommended

This was our second visit to Blossom, having had a good meal the first time several years ago. Again, the food (fried artichokes, arugula/beet salad, sea scallops) was excellent. The server was friendly and attentive. The noise level was very high, due to a lack of sound-absorbing materials in the dining area. Parking was convenient (and free) several blocks away. Given the pricey (and excellent) restaurants in Charleston, Blossom is one that rates highly, especially one with a good seafood menu.
