Blossom on Columbus Ratings and Reviews
Possibly the best Vegan restaurant in New York. Everything was delicious. I had the Seitan steak which was very good, but there was also a Seitan special that night cooked in port wine that was outstanding.
Appetizers were delicious as well! Alas, no room left for dessert though--next time!
The food was okay - some dishes were a hit (seitan steak and blossom burger) and some were a fail (risotto and ravioli). Most of us left hungry despite a $500 bill. The waiter couldn't have cared less to be waiting on us; with a 20% tip built into our bill (we were a large group) I am guessing he didn't feel the need to work harder to earn anything extra. No need to go back as there are other veggie places worth our money.
My friend recommended Blossom for our girls' night out dinner because we wanted to find a place that had vegan options, and it was perfect! The food was delicious, portions were just right, and the prices were reasonable. The omnivores were also satisfied, even though they didn't get any animal products!
Blossom has become one of my favourite vegetarian restaurants. Saturday night was no exception. The was beautiful presented and delicious (main: root vegetable phyllo roll; dessert: pumpkin pie). In the past I found the service to be friendly without being ingratiating. On this visit I found the server to be nothing more than barely civil - did not explain the seasonal menu to me, but did to the couple dining next to me. Rating slightly off due to the service.
we were gathered to celebrate the holidays and a friend's birthday. we enjoyed the atmosphere, the quietness (was commented upon), the service ... and the food! a good time -- and vegan meal -- was had by all! i hadn't been there in a while, want to return soon, so many interesting sounding food choices!
Friendly place, not overcrowded on that Friday. The dishes were creative yet remained on this side of sophisticated. I lament the fact that the restaurant staff does not know enough about wine, and served our red wine much too warm, at 75 F when it should be at no more than 55 F, cellared.
Service is attentive and straightforward.
Tried Blossom for the first time. The mushroom pizza was great. The polenta dish was OK. Felt like it would have been better with less ingredients and just feature the polenta. The seitan burger was great. Had the fig bruschetta for an appetizer and it was wonderful!
We were blown away by how great Blossom was. Being from Boston, we've never really seen a fancy vegan restaurant, so it was nice to be able to go out somewhere with my boyfriend that he could actually eat at. The food was amazing, I highly recommend the buffalo risotto appetizer! We will absolutely be back
Food was very good, if a little pricey (though on par with most nice places in Manhattan). However, the service was good but not great. And, annoyingly, I had written on my Open Table reservation that the meal was for a birthday and to bring the dessert with a candle in it. However, our waiter did not do so. And when I asked about it he said the request must have gotten lost in the shuffle. Not the end of the world but still disappointing. What's the point of asking for special requests or comments if they're not honored or paid attention to?
Food had good flavor but everything came across as not having much effort put into it. Food came out fast and server was a little overly eager, which made everything seem hurried rather than a pleasant experience. We liked the taste of the food but it almost seemed reheated rather than made to order. The floor desperately needed sweeping- dirt and leaves had obviously blown in halfway across the dining room but no one seemed to care. The restaurant was fairly quiet overall but the sound of crashing and banging of dishes too frequently interrupted what was supposed to be a romantic dinner. I hate to disparage a vegan restaurant but I don't like being made to feel like I'm imposing on the restaurant with a $100+ check for 2 people.
This used to be my favorite restaurant but the prices have gone up and the service is really not that great. It’s okay and I would hope that at a place as nice and as expensive as blossom the service would be supberb. I went her for my birthday and it didn’t really feel special at all.
My boyfriend brought his mother and I here and even though we’d been late for our reservation, we were seated immediately and the service was amazing. The food as perfect as always. That Chocolate ganache dessert will forever be my favorite! Never take it off the menu.
Had a good meal but was dissatisfied overall. Picked this because offered vegan thanksgiving and menu but only had special menu at 72 per person when we got there. Nothing for my 2 non-vegans/vegetarians to do so we ended up at 2 different places for thanksgiving dinner.
Waiter made us feel like -as my daughter put it "peasants". Asked us if we wanted water then rather than just water brought an $8 bottle of water. Jeez.
As I said food WAS good but NO WHERE NEAR worth that even knowing vegan is pricier than others. (I fed 3 the night before for half this and more food).
Beautiful place but not sure I'd give the regular menu a chance after this.
Being a vegan in New York City is not that hard, except on Thanksgiving!! It is easy to find fusion cuisines, especially those featuring Chinese, Japanese and Indian fare. If you want a traditionally-based meal that includes some of the fixings that go with the Thanksgiving meal, then there are only a few options. Blossom is our "go to" holiday spot. The food is first rate, service is excellent and there are even fun autumn cocktails. Blossom is great for the rest of the year too!!
My boyfriend and I had our Thanksgiving day meal at this restaurant while we were in vacation in NYC. We were very excited and spent a lot of money on the meal. Unfortunately, the food was subpar, and the service was very poor. When we gave feedback on the meal to our server he genuinely made us feel uncomfortable. Overall, we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially considering how dissapointing it was for our special Thanksgiving day meal.
This is a kosher-friendly vegan restaurant with a variety of meal options. Prices are somewhat high for what you get, but not terrible for this neighborhood. I had a tomato soup that was good and a quinoa salad that was pretty tasteless. Others in my party thought their choices were OK. Service was attentive.
