Blooms @ 1/4
Great place lovely furniture and good food 3rd visit to folkestone and like to have a meal on a Saturday during the weekend
had lunch with daughter, was very nice atmosphere and lunch was big and plentiful couldn't finish it, staff polite and friendly.
Had dinner with my wife on Friday night. What can I say !? Two bottles of borolo were excellent, stake was very grisly. I don't think we will be coming back for a while.
Service was good and we got 10% discount from the bill.
But the whole experience spoiled our night out which we don't get very often.
Had lovely meal with friends. We were late arriving and this was no trouble at all for the staff. Service was good and prompt and the food lovely. We particularity like the scotch egg starter and cocktails.
Too long waiting for the food. Pizza not good for me. Seafood was ok.
Chose this restaurant via Trip Advisor to take my brother for a birthday meal. Had a really enjoyable evening. The service was so friendly and relaxed, the choice of food excellent and the food perfect. They had a special on cocktails and brother had both as I had to drive home; he lives just a few 100 yes away; but my glass of wine was very pleasant. To make a very enjoyable evening even better out waitress bought him a special glass of fizz on a birthday platter . Lovely evening, five stars across the board, thank you.
I'm a veggie and somehow always find fault when I eat out, but all three courses (and that of my friends) were incredible. Bit pricey for a Sunday lunch considering we didn't drink alcohol at £125 - but still - inspired, well thought out, well built, well presented food.
We both went for the fish pie again which was delicious , but there is somuch more to choose from! The service was excellent frim our waitress , sadly we did not get her name. Decent choice of beers for a restaurant , plus cockyails and a decent wine selection
We enjoyed our meal at Blooms but there were several niggles which detracted from the excellent food. We were among the first to arrive for lunch but already they'd run out of bacon and the cherry tart was also 'off'. Things do run out but it's not a long menu so it was disappointing to have choice restricted like this. The drinks menu was stained and dog eared, the doors to the toilets and washroom floors could do with a thorough clean and the roses in the vase on our table were dying. The antipasto starter was delicious as was the fish pie.
Food upto usual high standard. Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Recommend highly
Eaten at Blooms many times, it always delivers a good meal, good size portions and overall value for money. I'll certainly use again, thank you
We were very well looked after and they made the birthday girl feel very special
First visit to Blooms and not disappointed. Certainly not the cheapest restaurant in town but high-quality food and worth the price. Cocktails were superb and reasonably priced. Food couldn't be faulted.
Trying hard to think of any niggles and the best I can come up with are:
No harbour/sea view.
Very brightly lit inside.
Fairly loud 'buzzy' atmosphere.
But very minor points and didn't detract from an excellent evening. Will definitely return.
We visited Blooms with friends because we had always enjoyed eating there. It did not disappoint - it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, with delicious food and great service. Thank you Blooms!
Lovely food, helpful with gluten and dairy free options, slightly slow bringing drinks
found on open table recommended by sister it met all our expectations. Had to alter booking - no problem. Straight to our table on arrival, waitress helpful and cheery. Menu to accommodate every taste standard of food excellent service excellent. Prices not overly expensive. Will be back on our next visit. Thanks to everyone.
The food was well presented and very good. I would prefer more choice for vegetarian diners. The only criticism I have is that the service was slow although the waiting staff were extremely busy. We came on a Saturday evening and definitely the restaurant needed more staff. We had to ask for a dessert menu and the coffee showed up before the dessert, which is always a problem.
Just booked on off chance very friendly service spot on food excellent . Unfortunately a table near us had drunk a little too much and became very loud other than that great place to eat.
Food was amazing, so was our blonde waitress didn't get her name but lovely girl! #punching!
Restaurant was good overall. We were seated next to a large party celebrating a Birthday and so that always means you get a slightly skewed view of things as you deal with the impact of the larger party"s behaviour. Food was good, well presented. My son ordered a salad that Included watermelon but was disappointed that it had been chargrilled and was slightly warm! My only negative point about my food was that the lemon posset I had for pudding was very well set, making it quite cloying; I had hoped for a softer textured version. Otherwise we had a lovely meal.
A lovely evening for my daughters 16th. Although there were only 2 waiting staff - at one point they were behind the bar too- service was excellent. Thank you for a lovely evening. Oh and compliments to the chef!
This is a Great Restaurant, and this is the Third Time I have been here to eat.
the menu has changed a little and there is only one chicken dish that is marinated in Chile and
No Fish Opt for Main meal other than a Fish Pie, the staff were a bit slow with the orders and on bringing our drinks after taking the order, had to ask for our drinks.
its a shame that I have to write this negative feedback, we booked our table for 08:45 and last orders for food was 21:30, seemed a bit rushed towards the end where we declined the Desert or Coffee as it seemed they were in a rush to get everything cleared.
Don't let the good work that you have prided yourselves on start to slip.
Hope that this a one off.
Lovely food and great service. Cocktails were amazing. Would definitely go back.
Excellent as always . Staff always cheerful and polite. Excellent service and food
First visit and would definitely return! Food was excellent and good selection even on the Sunday menu. Food was a little slow coming out but staff very attentive and apologised for delay! Was worth waiting for though!
Pleasant location and surroundings, staff excellent attentive and courteous, clean well presented food, good value for mobey
Lovely food. We had a lovely time and would definitely go again.
Great friendly service and well presented tasty food in fresh light and airy surroundings
Arrived and were welcomed with a smile, they accommodated our push chair fine.
The waitress didn’t ask us for drinks, we had to mention them to her.
We choose our food and it came in good time.
Then it went downhill, my wife’s food was ok, but my food was bland and tasteless, we didn’t stay for dessert or coffee, shame as we have liked it there before.
Booked a table for 8 at 2.30pm for my mum's 50th Birthday. It was between blooms and rock salt. Decided on blooms as a couple of the ladies are vegetarian. All I can say is I was totally disappointed. There was very limited food. For example only one risotto, no gnocc (was then told that the kitchen could do two gnocc but with peas instead but no sauce which made it very dry) only one cheesecake. The table service was shocking so we all ended up having to go to the bar to get our drinks as we wasn't asked. They done absolutely nothing to make this occasion special for my mum. I was utterly disappointed.
Good food, good service a definite recommend! We went on a Thursday so was reasonably quiet but no change in quality of service from busy periods, great restaurant with amazing food
great locally produced food, freshly cooked . Good fast service .
Excellent food as always. My only criticism is the chairs, really don't like them. They are too heavy and difficult to move.
Wouldn't stop me going back though!!
very enjoyable evening. good atmosphere and service.
Lovely Father's Day meal. Great food and service. Love this place! :)
Always lovely here-especially the cocktails! And the staff are fantastic, really friendly and great service even though they were clearly very busy on a hot Saturday night. Highly reccomended.
I wrote a review about a year ago that was not entirely flattering due to service. This time around there is 100% improvement on the service, to the point that they went out of their way to make our evening special. Lovely smiling waitresses, who were attentive and friendly. The food, as last time, was fantastic! A major addition to the foodie scene in Folkestone and fully deserves 5 stars....
The only thing we didn't enjoy was rock hard veg, and a cocktail that would work well as paint stripper, although staff were very understanding and brought my husband another one, this wasn't taken off the bill so we did have to query it and it was taken off.
Lovely restaurant, service and good food. Family friendly. Near the creative quarter
It was lovely last time i came but Wasn't to impressed this time with the food was okay a bit blaned and the chef didn't want to make some onion rings up for me as I got told the was only two chef but when I look there was more, just being lazy. I hinted to the waitress it was my birthday and all i got was a happy birthday , I didn't get anything until my mum said something when we were leaving , as it was a treat as never come back to Folkestone just a disappointing meal.
