We were celebrating our anniversary and mentioned in our reservation and they made us feel special. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Definitely a go to place.
Truly thought this would be an awesome place based on the name. It turns out to be an average hotel restaurant. Food was overcooked across the board. My soda wa syrupy. Service was great and ambience, but food quality and prep was sad.
Food ok, not impressive. Wine poured from small decanter but waitress didn’t pour all of it and left with the decanter.
Service was outstanding. They worked as a team. Was there for restaurant week
Forget the fact that this place is in a hotel. The food was outstanding. I had Prime Rib. Perfect. The service was great and the people so friendly. They left us all the time we needed to catch up with old friends.
Come for the food, but abandon any hope of fun — the good ambience is ruined by the terse service. In fairness, dinner was OK (bonus points for Hess Select & other Napa wines).
DO *NOT* COME HERE IF YOU ARE EVEN A LITTLE CASUALLY DRESSED. YOU WILL *NOT* BE WELCOME. THIS PLACE IS A PARODY OF BOURGEOIS ARROGANCE.
Get real, BCH. You aren't in Davos. You're in Bloomington (less than five miles from the airport).
Bloomington Chop House is a three-star alternative to the obnoxious chain restaurant options. You must calculate the value of the aloofness of the staff against the OK culinary offerings here. You may likely receive hostile glares from the silver staff here if you are wearing anything less than a dinner jacket.
Perhaps this place is upscale for Minneapolis, but I’ve had *much* better meals at excellent gastro-pubs for $25 / plate + drinks.
My red flags here ranged from being asked for reservations in an empty dining room, to scowls from other servers. The final straws were the audacious prices for meager portions of admittedly OK (not great) food. I don’t mind paying a premium for excellent quality; but the service was cold and the food was only a little warmer (and yet still a terrible value).
If you want selfies in a stylish dining room, this is your place. Otherwise, I would avoid. I’ll never eat here again, even though the food was OK.
Bloomington Chop House staff needs a lesson about the difference between wealth and class. They may serve wealthy customers, but they have no class. Excellence is about commitment to outstanding experiences.
The snide attitudes from the servers were quite hilarious, given the hotel-lobby settings. If you want to cosplay as a patron of an upscale restaurant, put on your Sunday best and come here. I don't think the menu justifies the attitude, however. BCH has mistaken high-shelf for good taste. I didn't see either when I went there.
I’ll look elsewhere next time I'm in the Twin Cities.
Our server Nicolle was wonderful! Food is always solid here and it’s a restaurant that has a low sound level, allowing you to have a good conversation. Great for business meals as well!
Recommend only on food quality and ambience but total value was over the top. Basically entree's have no extras such as vegetables or salads....pay extra for each.
Exceptional food! Great cocktails!
My group of seniors with dementia came in for a visit yesterday, and your staff were so accommodating, understanding, and kind!
My residents felt so special! It is not often that they get to go somewhere so fancy. They all came back home with HUGE smiles.
Thank you so much. I knew from what Andy said that it is a great place to work, but now having experienced it myself I can see why he likes it so much :)
We went to Bloomington Chop House for their Mother's Day brunch and were pleasantly surprised on so many levels. First, the noise level was extremely tolerable--which hasn't been our experience at other restaurants on holiday brunches--and the ambiance was pleasant. The server was prompt, and we were pleased to discover juices, soft drinks, and coffee were included with the buffet. The variety and volume of food available at the buffet were overwhelming, and they seemed to do a great job of keeping the dishes filled and refilled with fresh food. I loved how well spaced the tables were so that many people could be filling plates without bumping into each other. My only disappointment was that they ran out of fresh pineapple, but I can only imagine how hard it is to anticipate demand for any particular item, as well as to attain properly ripened fruits for a holiday buffet like this. I think this will definitely be on our short list of places to eat holiday meals at in the future.
My time at Bloomington Chop House was very enjoyable. The ribeye that I ordered was the best ever.
We had the chopped salad which was something I had never seen or eaten before. It tasted OK
but not something we would order again. Due to the cost we can't dine with you that often but the
steak was outstanding.
The Easter buffet was excellent! I never liked Mac n cheese but their lobster Mac n cheese was really good. The only downside was the dessert. They didn’t have an excellent choice for dessert but the appetizers and entrees were amazing!
Wonderful Easter brunch, the food was 5 stars, we loved everything.
Easter Buffett. First seating, ten tables filled, host set my daughter and I in a dark table in the corner. Open booths, tables by windows everywhere, I requested a better table when waiter showed up and was informed that they had 600 to be seated for the day. We couldn’t have a different table. Had to wait/ask for beverage menu and drinks. We where done dining and the area was half full. Would they have done that to two men? Nope. My 120.00 is the same as their 120.00. Perhaps even more.
Great service, nice quiet ambiance and amazing food
I had the Wagya Flat Iron Steak & it was simply just ok. My friend had the pork chop & it was delightful. All the sides were amazing.
I did recommend to a friend by bringing them with for lunch yesterday!
I love the quiet and romantic atmosphere of the Bloomington Chop House. The food is consistently good, and the service is great. Our waitress, Gail, was so friendly and helpful. We ended up splitting two meals since we couldn't decide what to get. The scallops and the steak were excellent, and we even had leftovers, because we were so full. The only thing I wasn't crazy about were the mushrooms. They were way too salty for my taste. The complimentary dessert for our anniversary was excellent. Thank you.
the filets were good we had the 6 oz and the 8oz.
hash browns were good
Bread was good.
apple tart wasn't the best ever but coffee was wonderful
wines were good picked the least expensive merlot and cab sab.
decor was good
Had a beverage in the bar before hand, nice.
The service was very good and the staff friendly. I liked the Yukon mashed potatoes. My NY steak was overcooked and my dates Walleye filet was bland. For the price they should have been exceptional.
The food, phenomenal. Service, impeccable. The entire experience was absolutely wonderful! Dennis, our server was the right amount of dry, knowledgeable and attentive.
Food was good and service was great. Comfortable and not super expensive
Great place to dine. Was easy to converse in meeting with colleague.
The food was not good. It was so that I could get at any restaurant with lower expectations.
My husband and I had the 5 course Valentine special. He had a filet and I had salmon. Both were scrumptious. Our sides were tasty too. Desserts were out of this world, I ate mine the next day. Our server (Dennis) was perfect, as usual. We come to the Hilton and Chop House for special events. We appreciate your courtesy and friendliness. We will see you again - maybe on our anniversary!
I was a little disappointed that we had made a reservation and while we saw couples in huge booths and spacious tables we got stuck in a tiny corner next to a wall squeezed next to another couple. It was hard to even have a conversation so we left after the second course.
Good service and food. The cuisine variety and flavor can be improved
This was a repeat visit and we've had a great experience each time. It is a little expensive, but the service, food, and staff are worth it. It was a totally relaxing night. We'll be back.
Overall the food and quantity is very good. My steak was a bit tuff and my husbands prime rib lacked seasoning. A little over priced. Atmosphere was wonderful, great staff. We sat in the dining room, and happy we did, the bar area was very loud. But we would definitely try it again.
Everything was great up until desert we were told after the waitress put the order in out of Creme Brûlée. A First for us at a higher end steak house which we eat at regularly
Our server Dennis was exceptional! Thank you!
Excellent option for business lunch. Staff is wonderful and timely.
My husband and I ate at the Bloomington Chophouse during a short weekend getaway at the Hilton where the restaurant is located.
We loved the decor and ambiance, and the service staff was wonderful.
We enjoyed the menu selections but were both disappointed with the quality of our entrees. For us, the prices of the entree weren't justified by the execution of them.
Overall, we were disappointed and left wishing we'd enjoyed the food more than we did.
Janet was very attentive and helpful. Great breakfast place.
Food is outstanding pricey but worth it. Staff is very accommodating.
Food was okay. My wife's salad only had three apples slippers in it. The service was extremely slow. And condescending. Was way overpriced for what you got.
Food is delicious and I've never been disappointed with service. Might recommend sitting in booth versus table if you are wanting to have conversation. Tables a little close along windows if next to loud talkers.
Some of the food was cool. The manager did come over and explain how the heat underneath had burned out. We had to hunt for the gravy, thought it should be by the mashed potatoes. Too pricey!
