Food is delicious and I've never been disappointed with service. Might recommend sitting in booth versus table if you are wanting to have conversation. Tables a little close along windows if next to loud talkers.
Some of the food was cool. The manager did come over and explain how the heat underneath had burned out. We had to hunt for the gravy, thought it should be by the mashed potatoes. Too pricey!
The occasion was Thanksgiving. Overall, the food was delicious and tastefully prepared. The prime rib was excellent especially for a buffet. However, I was deeply disappointed that there was no dark meat turkey available, only the turkey breast. My ratings would have been higher had their been a choice of white or dark meat. Maybe next year???
Our second Thanksgiving at the "Bloomington Chophouse"- Enjoyed it even more than last year!
Suggestions- Have available dark Meat with the white Meat Turkey? You would have to roast your Turkeys, than just roast a Breast.
More Side Dishes? Green Bean Casserole.
Thanksgiving Brunch was spectacular! Turkey and all the accompaniments, Prime Rib, Salmon, Oysters, and Dessert options galore...a wonderful mix of food choices for the family!
Great service in a very nice setting with not too much noise for our business conversation but not so quiet that you were concerned about someone listening in. Food is good for breakfast. Stell cut oatmeal with berries is tasty and was cooked just right.
We got a last minute res for restaurant week. I liked the menu for restaurant week. Our salads were great. Our entrees were okay. The smoked salmon is more suited for a brunch buffet. The brisket was fine. The desserts were fantastic, and I ate too much!
Service was okay. It took a long time to be greeted, and our waitress forgot a couple of things, and some things took a long time after we requested them. Our waitress was very nice, great personality, but not super on top of the service. It was okay - but since you asked for a review, I'm giving it to you.
I would recommend the restaurant for the location, but other than that, it wasn't special.
Salmon was really tasty. Went for restaurant week. Found that other restaurants offered a better value than Chop House. Used to love this place. It was okay, nothing that wowed us.
Sauce on beef brisket entree was very salty.
Server was indifferent. Refills were not timely. My food was overall ok - mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box. My friend's risotto was inedible. The store did a nice job of coming over and getting her something different, but still felt an overall sense of indifference from the staff.
My husband and I visited during Restaurant Week. We ordered two different appetizers, two main courses and two desserts. The Chop House salad is always a favorite of mine, but the cider salad my husband had was fantastic! My husband had the pork chop. It was very nicely cooked - very moist and juicy. The apple chutney was a nice finishing touch. I had the maple-glazed salmon and, honestly, it was one of the best pieces of salmon I've ever enjoyed. There was a nice smoke on the salmon and the glaze was a perfect complement. For dessert, my husband had the apple crisp and I had the pecan pie. Both were served with cinnamon ice cream. The apple cobbler was good, but the pecan pie was delicious! The very cinnamon-y ice cream was the perfect complement to both. Our server Dennis, and the server assistant Sam were both top-notch! At $30, a fabulous meal for the price!

We hosted clients for a business dinner. Service was okay, not as good as previously experienced. We all ordered steaks for the most part. The fillet was a bit on the dry side in my opinion. Sides were pretty good but nothing amazing. The lobster mac and cheese was very lacking in lobster and seemed bland. The person sitting next to me got the prime rib and it looked really good. This is a good spot if you're staying at the hotel though and don't want to go out.
I would add that the bar for the restaurant has a very grumpy old man as a bartender. Didn't set the tone very well for this visit.
When I pay $38 for a steak at lunch, I expect it to be tender. My strip steak was chewy and had a ton of gristle. It was tasty, but nearly inedible due to the chewy texture. They wait staff was perfectly attentive and the room was bright and lively. If I hadn’t been on a business lunch and pressed for time, I’d have sent my meal back.
We had not tried the Chophouse before and were very pleased with the food and service. Annette was an excellent server. Not too attentive--just right amount of customer awareness.
Food was ok, not spectacular. Meat was cooked more than requested and the server just did not return to check! The solution was to buy a desert, which I really did not care for. I really like my meal to be cooked to order! I came to enjoy that not usually desert! Was not even busy, and it was a Monday night, so maybe the real chef was off!
A little overpriced for a suburn steakhouse. Restaurant almost completely empty on a Saturday night at 7pm. Food was high quality and tasty.
Food was average. Not anything special for price paid. This place is located in Hilton. I try to avoid hotel restaurants and was misled based on ratings and descriptions. I think here’s better places for money paid to eat in hotel restaurant.
Food was better than good but the service was a bit slow.
The noise got to be a bit load as the evening progressed.

We tried it at Resteraunt Week. Ribs were very tender and the rub was not overbearingly spicy. Service was great.
Great service and Foods
This was a nice, quiet restaurant where we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. The food was very good, not particularly 'gourmet', but delicious none the less. Almost a little bit of an old fashioned supper club feel, although the bar area is very modern. If you are looking for a good meal, probably including meat, and a good, basic cocktail, this would be a nice place. I could see it being good for business meals also. The servers were great. Not obtrusive, but helpful and pleasant, and there when you needed them.
We picked the Chop House as one of our restaurants to go to during restaurant week. I would say that the menu didn't have much of a variety (we knew that prior to going in but still wanted to give it a try). The other thing is that online it stated they had complimentary cornbread, but when we actually went into the restaurant they weren't serving anything like that. They actually didn't even know about it. The ribs were dry, the brisket was ok. The only thing saving the rating is the chicken. The chicken was one of the better things on the menu we tried. I don't think we will be back because they were also overpriced (just on the regular menu). Nice to try something different, but we most likely will not be back.
Was not busy. Had full attention of staff. Food was excellent. However no sides. Everything was ala cart.
Hamburger although excellent $19 was quite expensive.

Arrived at 6:00 for dinner with my wife, our third time eating here, the place was almost empty and they sat us next to a very loud 2 year old that made noise anytime he had to sit at the table. That made the dinner very unpleasant. My wife ordered a new salad they were trying out that had about a bushel of raw asparagus in it, she left the plate with half a bushel on it for the server to pick up. The manager asked what we thought about the salad and we were honest, this didn't result in the salad being removed from our bill which seemed odd.
Our other two experiences were good.

Steak was the best that we have had in Minnesota! The apps were awesome as well. The bread and Caesar salads were a disappointment compared to the rest of the meal. A great steak place should have a great Caesar salad and fresh rolls.
The rest we really enjoyed and would come back at some point.
Always a good experience, which is why I continue to go back. The service is top-shelf. Food quality is good and the prices are fair.
The ambiance left a little to be desired, but the food was great. We (4 of us) all had beef and for the most part you can have a good steak anywhere, but all of our different varieties of beef were different and were prepared very well and the taste was superb. On the menu it stated that the sides were family style, some of the sides were more than adequate i.e. the mushrooms were fresh not canned and a very nice serving, the asparagus was very good but not as generous, the potatoes were well prepared and a nice serving. Their whiskey/scotch menu was over priced. I would recommend this restaurant to any one who appreciates a good piece of meat. Yes Minneapolis has its share of good steak houses and this one rates with them.
We like to try new restaurants and find the hidden gem amongst them - unfortunately, the Chop House was not one of them.
Birthday dinner - did not even get a nod from our waiter until the hostess of two days (Toni) came by to see how our dinner celebration was. The hostess offered us a free dessert -
Food was okay - for such a sparse menu, you would think the kitchen would be a perfectionist
in preparation - everything was overcooked - the best, in a derogative way, was the med rare NY strip that was suppose to be blue cheese crusted and came out instead med well with blue cheese dressing poured and cooked on top. As much as I wanted to send it all back - my husband does not like to complain and ate it despite all of the gristle in a $40 steak.
Staff was attentive, despite the lack of birthday wishes or offering a dessert - drinks were good and to our specifications, I just can't get past the overcooked food and high prices.
Of and by the way, don't get upset if your signed receipt is actually higher on your bank account the next day. Apparently, the restaurant adds, without telling you, 20% more on your bill until the credit card company pays the actual bill. Then the 20% is removed. This is not common practice in the industry and and when questioned, was made to feel stupid for even asking.
I could go on - but I will choose to just not come back -
Good, no major complaints. Food was excellent, service was low key (in a good way) and efficient. My one bug-a-boo was when I left my dirty appetizer knife on the plate when I was done, but it was removed and placed back on the table for the entree course. Minor detail and training issue. But stuck with me.
Outstanding service. Annette was the best server we have had in awhile. Excellent. Steaks were done just right! Will definitely come back.

The Mother’s Day brunch had everyone packed into the banquet room like a wedding. The tables were huge so impossible to have a conversation with anyone. The servers were scarce. The food was good but the overall experience made it extremely over priced. I would not recommend making a reservation at this restaurant for a special occasion.
