Apps were tasty and hot. Salads were fresh and crisp. Both dinners were cold. Waitress offered to return to kitchen to heat ( but we refused (we were already half thru). Comped us a round of drinks, but $25-30 entrees can't be cold under any circumstance.

Enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. We enjoyed the guitar player/singer but had trouble hearing him although he was right next to us while we dined. Would’ve enjoyed hearing him if we could. He had a great repertoire and a pleasing voice.

The food and ambiance was excellent! Service was great but could have been just a bit more attentive, especially at the end, as I had to give my check to another server, as I didn’t see ours for a while. We will return and recommend to friends.

Blooming Grove did not disappoint. Consistently excellent food and atmosphere. I ordered the sautéed scallops and they were great. This is my favorite area restaurant.

My lunch date & I ordered coffee after our meal. However; when we wanted a second cup of coffee, we were told we would be charged for it! Would not pay for a second cup.

As always the food was superb and the service was not as good as usual . However, in defense of wait staff it was a very busy night. I’ve been here many times and know that this was out of the ordinary.

We used to go to Paulie's Anna Rose before it became the Blooming Grove Inn and loved it. It was even good as the Blooming Grove Inn for a little while. We went several times and still enjoyed everything, but this last visit wasn't very good. They changed their menu and don't have specials anymore. The staff seems to be all new. I understand new ownership means changes, new staff, new food, etc., but It just seems like all food is limited and even trying to substitute isn't easy. It's not the same at all. No baked potatoes that night. Only whipped, etc. They didn't have an actual bartender. The girl who was making the drinks was doing that in between other things. She even had to look up the ingredients of a drink to try to make it for my mother. Kudos for trying to make it, but no real bartender on staff puts a damper on paying for a drink that you want but aren't really getting. Also, my father had a steak and it was grisly (sp?) and only ate half of it. Just a disappointing dinner after so many wonderful dinners. I feel like it's going down hill and it's such a shame. I don't feel we got what we paid for.....

We were a party of 12 and the restaurant wasn’t busy. It took forever first to get the waiter to come and get our drink and entree order. Then it took sometime to get our food. 2 1/2 hours later all was good. Most of us were retired but some needed to get back to work.

Very pricey but food no more than ordinary. Noise level high due to energetic bar scene. Live entertainment good but speakers turned up too high. Definitely not a place for a quiet relaxing dinner. Partner's steak and my snapper cooked very nicely, but partner's side of broccoli rabe was inedible.

Service was slow. We waited a long time between our salads and our dinner. When dinner was finally brought to the table, only 3 out of 4 meals were brought to our table. Everyone was more then half way through their meals before the final dinner arrived. There was no effort by our server nor the owner to make amends. We were all disappointed.

Very good food. Had the scallops and tasty with a good helping of scallops but not much of anything else. No salad. For $32 I expected a little better presentation. Dining room adjacent to bar making dining VERY noisy. Had a guitar player but never heard anything he played. Tables very close, another table actually started a conversation with us after overhearing our conversation.

Server greeted us but then didn't come back for a over 15 mins. Host circled our table a few times and didn't notice our menus were sitting on the table ready to order. We had to ask another server to have her stop by our table. Once our meal was served we never saw her again. She finally surfaced and was ready to give us the check until we asked about dessert.

Food very good, expensive, service poor and ambiance lacking

We enjoyed our meal as always. Have been here many times and have always been happy with the meals. Only down side is they removed veal from the menu. I would guess that it will show up on specials but we very surprised as a couple of us often choose veal for dinner.

This is an unusual restaurant/bar that has a charming location and ambiance but has grossly inconsistent and ultimately disappointing food. My wife and I were very favorably impressed by the Civil War era building that housed the restaurant in a scenic location and easy, relaxed atmosphere inside. We loved our appetizer of "Home Made Meat Balls" but from that point the meal quickly declined. My arugula salad was fine; however my wife's Caprese Salad was overwhelmed with balsamic dressing which smothered the Jersey tomatoes and mozzarella. Our main courses were the biggest disappointment of all. My wife's "Charred Half Roasted Duck" was almost inedible. The duck was dry and tasteless and the polenta was also tasteless. My Chicken Aglia was mediocre at best. We shared a piece of banana creme pie for desert which was ok but did not make amends for our disappointment with the main courses.

When we arrived the bartender was very friendly and the service at the bar was very quick. When we moved into the dining room we were greeted by a waitress who look like she was coming to clean our house rather than wait on us. She had yoga pants plus a sloppy shirt. Her service was average and friendly. However her support staff the food Runner and the person that bought a spread were very friendly and very attentive. The noise level in the room though was fairly difficult because there was a party of 12 sitting next to us that were enjoying themselves however it was very difficult for the two of us to have a conversation. The food was absolutely delicious served hot exactly as the menu described and we thoroughly enjoyed the salad as well. Will definitely go back again hope that there's not a large crowd in the same room were sitting in

Loved the Blooming Grove salad, but the gazpacho wasn't very good- tasted like the tomatoes were turning (vinegary).
The seafood diablo was delicious and plentiful. The Chilean Sea Bass was a beautiful, perfectly cooked piece served with a lobster risotto and topped with fresh spinach. We chose a white, Torrontes wine from the $25 per bottle selections which was very refreshing and a perfect accompaniment to our main courses. The service was good, but we had to ask (and wait) for bread, and pour our own wine (fine if a byob, but not when you buy the bottle). Are outside and got pretty chewed up by bugs, but we forgot to spray ourselves before leaving home, so...

We were accommodated with an outside table. For appetizers we ordered the portabello stuffed with Italian sausage and goat cheese with cartelized onions - both were plentiful and delicious. For entrees three of us ordered the scallops, which were perfectly grilled and large. This dish came with lobster mashed potatoes - disappointed - very little lobster and no taste. One guest ordered the grilled filet that was very good. The cappuccino tartufo was good but smothered in chocolate sauce. Others had a chocolate dessert which Arctic ice cream, which was a hit. Overall a good dinner experience in a lovely setting.
