This is the 4th time I have been there. The first 2 were exciting but since then it has been down hill. Ordered the Veal steak on the bone. It was very small for the price, over cooked the first time and under cooked the second. Everyone elses was so so. I hope they do better the next time or we won't return.
We celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary with you. Wonderful food and service. We will be back soon.
First time at the restaurant, and we went for my birthday. We both enjoyed it, we sat outside with a lovely view. A family was sitting behind us with a pretty noisy toddler, so it wasn't quiet. However, the food was good and service was prompt. I ordered a watermelon white sangria, which was a bit too sweet, but the mussel and artichoke appetizer and caesar salad were delicious, as were the duck and short rib dishes. The waitress kindly offered me two sauces for my duck, the brandy peppercorn and apple fennel since I couldn't decide. I preferred the brandy peppercorn, as the apple fennel was too sweet. Good value, as we couldn't finish our dishes and had to take home leftovers. At any rate, we enjoyed our visit, and though it wasn't the fanciest restaurant we've visited, it was a good, family restaurant with interesting selections. We plan to return at some point.
The service was horrible. Noelle was our waitress and she clearly was discriminating against us because We were two women on a date. It was a Friday night and I was just coming off a 60 hour work week and just wanted to have a nice dinner with my wife. She did know how spicy a particular dish was and did not want to find out. She came over once to see how our meal was. Another waitress was clearing our table of the empty appetizer plates as we were halfway through our meal. Never refilled drinks once. She didn’t even want to deliver us our check. The woman behind bar brought it to the back and made Noelle bring our change. All the other tables Noelle was very attentive. I have never left a 10% tip before, until that night. If I could have left her less I would have. She was not polite and clearly didn’t want to serve us.
First timers and definitely will be regulars
We had a party of 11 for a graduation ceremony. Food and service was excellent. I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was very good. Reservations were confirmed and we were seated on arrival. Great dinner
This was my first time here. I went with colleagues for lunch. The service was great and the food was very good. The menu had plenty of options, but was not overwhelming. I'm looking forward to going back for dinner.
Our server, Taylor, was excellent. Dined outside on a beautiful spring day!
We decided to have dinner outside made a quick reservation and ventured over. The food was delicious, the cocktails we had were tasty , there was even a great single guitar player playing some really chill and great Tunes. Pricings were good they had some comfort food but also some dishes that were out of the norm which was great. We had a great relaxing evening and definitely will be going back.
Return visit for lunch and food was delicious. Cocktail selection was excellent with my guest ordering Coconut Mai Tai and I ordered Watermelon Sangria. Weather did not cooperate for outdoor dining however the ambiance / outdoor tables are perfect for this.... will try next time. We went after lunchtime so it was relatively quiet and nice. Good food selection and Worth the visit.
We’re looking to eat outside on our wedding anniversary and came here! I would highly recommend the rack of lamb, seasoned and prepared to the way I like it! Highly recommend coming for dinner!
Lovely place! Food was well priced and very healthy portions. It was a cozy and warm setting. Will definitely be back again.
The food was excellent however my scallop dish was spicy though that was not indicated on the menu. My husband and I went on a much needed date night leaving the children at home. The lighting was bright reminding me of a dining hall rather than an intimate restaurant and the acoustics were very echoey. We could clearly hear the conversations of the people sitting at the bar. There were two couples in the restaurant when we arrived sitting in tables next to each other in the same corner. The Host sat us in close proximity to them. The rest of the restaurant remained empty. One couple were talking to each other very loudly and we could hear every detail of their conversation as well. They then answered a FaceTime call and proceeded to FaceTime with the caller. The staff did nothing to stop this rude selfish behaviour. There was nothing romantic or intimate about our dining experience. The service was pleasant and but not overly friendly or welcoming and our entrees came out immediately after our appetizer dishes were cleared. I felt on edge and rushed through our time in the restaurant. We were so disappointed as we wanted to love this restaurant. We will try again in the summer when we can sit outside as their dining verandah looks nicely decorated with outside lighting.
As usual, the food at this place is incredible. I had the braised short ribs again and they were amazing. The service is great, and while the decor is a little country chic for me, the fireplaces make it cozy. But for me the food keeps me coming back, dessert was fantastic as well.
Our fourth time and still great food and service!
Food was excellent. Mussels app was incredible with about 3 dozen. Duck done perfectly! Definitely a place that should be in anyone’s dining out rotation for a nice meal.
Food was excellent and service too. One small thing - not enough time in between courses.
Great duck With wild rice. Real wild rice from Minnesota, not a smidgen of wild rice mixed with white rice. Wonderful meatball appetizer. Great service and wonderful desserts. Live music also.
The Grilled Portabella appetizer is a good argument for "more isn't necessarily better" Was the mushroom actually grilled, was the sausage piled on top cooked thoroughly enough???? Pass up on it.
The 'Surf and Turf Fra Diavolo',entrée, was a mishmash of ill-prepared chicken cutlet, frozen shrimp , less than great grade sausage and there was supposed to be some crab meat. Hmmmm! And there was no heat to the dish as there should have been.
My guest had and adequate meatball appetizer and vodka rigatoni entrée.
Drinks OK. Service was superb. Atmosphere with music was inviting.
Since our last visit some months ago, something has gone awry in the kitchen!
Go there often. My favorite restaurant in the area.
What a pleasant evening and meal. The service was great. Our server has worked there for years and is very good. The food was excellent. The cabbage salad was really good and held up the next day for lunch. The Guinness filet tips were a great dish. Overall a great meal and exceptional service.
food was well prepared. Your standard continental menu. Was a bit noisy but not unbearable. The waiter was very attentive and made zero mistakes.
Ordered Their Charred Duck dish and it tasted old..
My wife ordered the veal chop and it did not look like the picture in the menu..
It was just OK..
The Wine was very good.
Food was good. Got dessert to go. The banana cream pie was not as good as it used to be. I was a little disappointed.
Great job on Valentine's day. Our server Hope was very prompt and professional. My date and I both very much enjoyed everything we had from wine to entrees.
Always have had a great meal in my 5 visits, However, this past Tue. 2/13, I ordered a Steak and it was not up to par with other menu items. I was very disappointed in the quality of the meat. My wife's scallops were excellent. All other aspects of the meal were good.
Always the best.
A great place to meet up with friends or have a romantic meal with your sweetheart. Celebrated Valentine's day a few days early with the hubby and we LOVED it! We'll be back very soon. The ambiance, the staff, AND the food are to die for.
Great food and service. Nice atmosphere and great drinks.
Of all my visits here, this was the worst! I noted in my reservation that I was vegan, which was not transmitted to the chef, yet the server came back twice to ask what I wanted to have for dinner. Since they do not have any vegan friendly items on the menu, it was expected that they could indicate what the chef could prepare on 'short notice' as it were. Unfortunately, they could not and sent over the dining room manager to take my order.
Training appeared to be lacking with this order taker... then billed for items not delivered at all, this I can forgive, but not knowing or asking what the chef can prepare, I cannot.
I will try B's again in the spring to see if there have been any improvements, if not then we will go up or across the river to eateries which are just as good in terms of food prep but better in terms of staff understanding of dietary preferences.
This was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the dinner was. The service was great as well. It was very crowded and we had to wait a bit after we ordered so we received two free glasses of wine to compensate for the wait. All in all we were very impressed so we will definitely be back.
The food was excellent- servers very pleasant- but we waited 30 minutes for our drinks ( wine) and an hour and a half for our meals to be served.
Ordered Seafood Fettucini it was terrible nothing wss fresh
Crabmeat was imitation the rest was obviously frozen
We were highly disappointed but it explained why we were the only ones having dinner there on Friday night
Also I ordered a popular drink from.the bar and was told we do.not have a blender
Very expensive for seafood that was not fresh
Dinner was ok; nothing special & over priced .
My wife and I had a great meal. The Carmelized Apple Goat Cheese Bruschetta was unique and wonderful. I enjoyed the Mocha Merlin Coffee Stout that was on tap. We will be back.
Our visit on this occasion was to celebrate the birthdays of dear friends. We ALWAYS enjoy the food, loved the live performer who added to the ambiance but the service on this occasion was both lacking and shocking. Our initial waitress was polite, and not pushy, waited while took time to order and chat. BUT sadly the young serving staff were lacking in both experience and manners. Plates were taken whilst members of our group were still eating, including being swept out from under our friend as he took his last bite. They cleared the table as we ate, interrupting our meal, our flow of conversation and enjoyment. We met other friends who had been eating on the other side of the room and the same had happened to them. As we talked to this group of friends, who are very regular patrons of the restaurant, SOMEONE flicked the lights on and off, I can only assume to advise patrons that they should be leaving. How rude, inappropriate and frankly giving me reason to ever consider returning to the Blooming Grove Inn or recommending to friends.
My Husband said it was the best Rack of Lamb he ever had
Absolutely incredible service, as always! My friends and I usually enjoy a happy hour about once a month during the summer when you can sit outside at this beautiful setting. This past week, of course, we were inside with the fire lit, the excellent service and super food. The ONLY thing I would like to see improve is more vegan and vegetarian menu choices.
This was our second time at Blooming Grove Inn. Everyone was completely satisfied with their food. The couple we came with had never been and they said they would definitely come back. The menu has a good variety without being overwhelming. I had the scallops which were amazing and my boyfriend had the short ribs which he loved. They have an extensive wine and drink list as well. It is perfect for date night.
