bloom. Ratings and Reviews
An excellent lunch once again at Bloom. The cauliflower veloute was silky smooth and delicious, served in a heated bowl. The beef tenderloin was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. I ended the meal with a lovely gateau St. Honore. Great service and excellent quality and value.
Food was very good and really enjoy the variety offered. A great opportunity to try new things. Servers were very nice but very shy and soft spoken without a lot of interaction and conversation. ( also realize it is new and they will do great once a comfort level is reached) they were all very attentive keeping a watchful eye on the tables and clearing empty plates. I look forward to your dinners beginning in January and will certainly return. Are gift certificates available?
I have been to Bloom about 6 or 7 times, each time was enjoyable, it is sweet to observe and provide positive feedback to the aspiring students. But this Oct 2017 visit we were very delighted that the late session students were preparing our lunch. The food taste and presentation was second to none. IT WAS DELICIOUS, beyond expectations.
My boyfriend and I are both Conestoga alumni and have wanted to try Bloom for some time. We like that it was inside of the school. Service was friendly, though we did have to wait a bit long for the entrees. Any issues we had with the food were minor. Tart shells could have been flakier. The soup bowl was a bit large for the serving size. Overall a fantastic experience. The price is beyond reasonable for the quality of food and service. We have recommended Bloom to our friends and we will definitely be back!
Food was great but it was a little unappetizing to be served cheese and nuts with the server's fingers. The buffet was a bit confusing as they put the appetizers and main dishes out all at once so we weren't sure if we were supposed to take both courses at the same time. Would have been nice if our server had let us know.
My husband and I ate at Bloom on Thursday March 9, 6PM seating. We were greeted in the hallway which was nice, as we were a bit lost. We were welcomed warmly and our coats were promptly checked. We were shown to our table, and given the menu. The ambiance was lovely - considering we are in a school, we felt the staging was well done. Perhaps sitting closer to the kitchen and bar we’d have had a better sense of restaurant though. The service was prompt and courteous. There were people who served water, brought bread, etc. Overall impression was that they worked well as a team and were learning how to work in the industry, so our expectations were adjusted.
The food was very good, the leek soup was delicious and perfect temperature. My husband ordered the pork and really enjoyed it, I had the fish which was overcooked but edible. Everything else was delicious. The lemon meringue pie for dessert has a thin, crispy crust, which was not my preference, but it was still very good.
Our expectations were lowered as this is a school and all members are there to learn.
We ordered the special cocktail and beer to drink. The drink prices were very reasonable and tasty too.
Overall, we were very pleased with the experience and we would go back, both for a nice dining experience at a reasonable price and to support the local college students. Well done Bloom!
Servers were pleasant but could have benefited from some supervision. e.g. butter was placed in front of one customer looking like it was being served to her only. It would be courteous to inform customers that there is an extra change for sparkling water and coffee. Overall the food was excellent and it was a very good experience!
I've been to Conestoga Bloom at least a dozen times and have loved every minute! I also send teams and groups for lunches and they all come back amazed. The students work hard to impress and do an excellent job. It's just as good as any other 5 star restaurant in Kitchener Waterloo.
I had a very enjoyable evening with friends. Lovely setting and atmosphere. Service a little slow but not terrible. Beet salad was a hit and I enjoyed the salmon. We all had the beef wellington which was cooked to order, side garnish just a little meagre. Lovely tasting tarte; pastry was wonderful. Dessert almost too big. Nice bottle of affordable wine. Overall a great night out, great meal, nice atmosphere, would definitely go again.
Food was delicious! The beef tenderloin was outstandingly tender and flavourful. The bread was the best I have ever had in a restaurant. One of us ordered the ravioli. While it was delicious, there were only 5 ravioli in the lunch serving, much too little for an entree, more of an appetizer. That truly was the only negative thing I could say about our lunch experience.
I would definitely recommend Bloom to others for something a little bit different.
We had lunch at Bloom. The food was absolutely fabulous, however, the portion size for the ravioli was very small. The French onion soup was amazing. My spouse had the beef tenderloin medallions which was cooked perfectly. Finally, the dessert (creme brule and chocolate mousse) was delicious. Great meal overall!!!
Bloom offers high end food prepared exquisitely for mid range prices. The restaurant area is very nicely lit and decorated. The students/staff are attentive and alert. What would be a rather formal experience has the edge taken off of it by the friendliness, awkwardness, and genuine attitude of the students, and my date and I were very much at ease.
Thank you Bloom for a wonderful dining experience. The four of us really enjoyed our meal. And we loved the full service, it reminded me of our recent trip to Italy. Our lead server Mandy quickly established a friendly but polished rapport which set the tone for our time with you. See you soon XO
I have been patrons of bloom for many years. I and one or more friends come for a meal several times a year. I can honestly say that I have never not enjoyed my meal. Occasionally the service is a little awkward, but on the whole the service is excellent. The servers are courteous and show some personality as well as friendliness if an overture is made to toward her/him. The bloom menu is always interesting. Meals feature well balanced portions and flavours that compliment one another.
It is nice to have a sit down meal with table clothes and interesting menu items. The servers were attentive and friendly. All courses were tasty and generous in size. The meat was very tender and their vegetables still had a nice crunch due to their cooking method. Excellent value for the money. Something beyond the ordinary!
Great lunch with thoughtful alternatives. Best pork medallion I've ever eaten!
Enjoyed the music and trying different food combinations.
Carmelized Granny SMith salad was unique as was the ice cream with berry compote.
Great value for the three course meal. We'll do it again for sure!
