   There had to have been passion and vision at one point but it's not there now. It just felt incomplete and undone, from the food to the table setting, ambience, and overall experience.

   I would have given Blood and Sand five stars except for the noise level. My husband and I had great difficulty carrying on a conversation due to the music and noise of other diners. I asked our server to see if the volume could be lowered but it didn’t seem to help. My husband found the manager and asked again. He said it wouldn’t go lower. The very high ceilings, wood floors and lack of sound-deadening materials is a challenge. But perhaps a better choice of music-smooth jazz, light classical or other genres that won’t overwhelm guest conversation. The Association for Consumer Research found that the right background music can cause customers to stay longer, order more food and increase their bar tab. So we get a better experience and the restaurant makes more money!

   Reduced down to one word: Experience. The word gets religiously thrown around far too much, but Blood and Sand is truly one of the few restaurants in the St. Louis area that delivers you with a true cuisine experience, rather than simply serving you food. From when we were seated, we were each served a single spoon of house made Tomato Confit with a dollop of goat cheese, in order to prepare our pallets for the upcoming meal. We were then graced by our host for the evening, Chris. In his own words, “I am not an order taker.” Chris had a passion for every small detail, from knowing every wine, the history of drinks, to exactly when to bring water to the table. The 5 courses or a la carte options were outstanding and innovative. Each ingredient came together perfectly, it is clear that the whole staff puts unquestionable effort into making everything run smoothly. The Elk Carpaccio and ostrich main course were notable highlights from the meal. The Sazerac I ordered was the best one I have had outside of New Orleans! What I am trying to say is that Blood and Sand’s holistic execution of everything makes for a truly special experience. Eloquent, but not pretentious. Exact, but not rigid. Simply Amazing.

   The food and presentation were top notch. The service could’ve been better. We needs more water and I had to look around to find our server.we did the 10 course meal. Small plates and 2 desserts! Overall a great experience!

   It was our third time at Blood and Sand and as usual all aspects our experience was outstanding. We both enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu and all 5 courses were very flavorful and on point. The service was excellent and informative. The atmosphere was attractive and intimate.

    Great date night experience! Our server was Ryan G. And he was fabulous! The only thing was that the music was super loud so it was a little loud to hear! But other than that, completely loved it!

    Incredible 10 course chef’s tasting! Staff was thoughtful, professional and personable. Food was creative and delicious! Drinks were awesome - bartender created a flight based on what we like that was perfect!

    Unfortunately, I would not recommend Blood & Sand to anyone. The service was unenthusiastic and very bland for the type of place and dining experience it is supposed to be. There was no detail given on the different dishes or why the food is special. The food was excellent, however, it didn't out weight the price, lackluster service, and extreme noise level in the establishment.

    We had the tasting menu and cocktails for date night and birthday celebration. It is pricey but very nice for a special occasion. The food was spectacular. I was worried it wouldn’t be enough based on some other reviews, but I left stuffed. Choices to fit differing tastes. The variety of cocktails was nice and I very much enjoyed what I got. Wait staff was helpful, gave good advice, very professional. I would recommend!

    I would suggest ordering off the menu for a standard dinner. 11 courses might be worth the experience rather than the 5 course option. It was fun, but not exactly satisfactory; the actual taste of every (tasting size) meal.

    This was our second visit to Blood and Sand and we were not disappointed. My wife does not drink alcohol and the bar manager personally came to our table to talk about her preferences to make sure that she had a personalized drink. Both drinks that she had were amazing and the food was top notch. Our server was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. Will he back again for special occasions.

    It’s okay… I was hoping for more, but the quality and service didn’t deliver for the cost. Coming from KC and experiences like Corvinos, this was roughly the same cost, but a big disappointment. Server was friendly, no complaints there, but overall they hovered. We were joking how they’d fill up our water after one drink so we tested it and that’s exactly what happened. Again, the food was okay, would have even been good if it was half the price. Can’t recommend as is.

    The staff started this dinning exceptionally well and the high level of service continued the entire time. We had the wild boar tacos for the first course. The tortillas and dipping sauce was fantastic. I had the ostrich strip and my partner had the butter steak both were superb. I would recommend either. We finished with both deserts and again wasn’t disappointed at all. I’ll be recommending this place to many.

    Nice space, lots of fun cocktails to choose from. I think we'd have to visit again to make a definitive decision on how much we liked the experience but we would recommend it for a first timer to stop in and try it out. Dainty portions for a tasting menu was appreciated but may not be great for an individual appreciating a heartier meal. The lamb had fat and gristle on which could have been refined in some way. No option was given on the temperature of the dish; I enjoy a more rare meat but some might not. Should be disclosed when ordering. Hubby tried the signature burt orange cocktail and was surprised with the $24 pricetag on the bill. They didn't have it on the cocktail menu so we didn't complain as it was "special." We prepaid for the dinner and noticed a $20 per person discount on the tasting special once we arrived at the restaurant. No mention was made of this and it would have been nice if that credit was applied toward our bar bill. We let it go as we appreciate the new venture and love supporting unique restaurants. Blood and Sand could use a bit more effort in refining their menu items but overall, they provided a serene service, lovely background music and a wonderful selection of wines and cocktails.

    The food was absolutely fantastic! I am a picky eater and was able to eat almost every component of each dish. The portions were very generous so keep that in mind when planning your day. The waitstaff was accommodating and quick to offer refills and to check in between courses. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, especially if you are looking for a unique tasting experience!

    We were excited to dine at B&S for the first time after hearing multiple rave reviews. The food was fantastic-every bite favorable! The specialty cocktails-muy delicioso!! The service was great outside our server. We felt rushed to order, eat, and leave by the server-as if we were in a diner during lunch rush. I hope it was a one-off experience bc we loved the food/drinks so much
