Blind Faith Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Blind Faith is the go-to restaurant for vegetarians who want to have a real meal. Fortunately, the exclusively vegetarian menu offers meat-eaters some good variety. Their home made seitan does not taste like the mush in the frozen section of the supermarket. It tastes like real food. Our waiter Sydney always makes sure our experience is a pleasure.
I went on a Saturday night for dinner at 6 pm with 2 girlfriends. The host was very friendly and I had a great first impression. Unfortunately, that began to fade once I sat down. I arrived earlier than my 2 girlfriends and figured I would have a glass of wine while I waited. Bethany took my order and another server brought the wine to the table. At this point I'm the only one sitting at the table but the server pours the wine into a glass at the seat directly across from me (no one is sitting there) and walks away. Weird but okay i just grab the glass and wait for my girlfriends. They arrive. We place our order and continue on. While dining, Bethany rudely and abruptly interrupted our conversation and there became a feeling among us like she was in a rush to turn over the table (mind you there were available tables). Plates were promptly removed and the bill was promptly delivered (great if you are in a rush, not so much if you are catching up with girlfriends). We were there until about 9:30 and ironically we would have likely order more wine and desserts once we had some time to digest our dinner but servers ignored us once the bill was paid. We also got the stink eye from Bethany as she left the restaurant. The food was good but the service was so bad that I will not go back or recommend.
We loved Blind Faith Cafe! We met some friends for dinner there and being new to the Plant Based Diet thing, we were hungry (!) for a dining experience in which we don't have to explain how we don't eat meat, fish, dairy, etc. and then struggle to figure out what it is we can eat from the menu ("order this without the cheese and the dressing, or this without the chicken", etc) Our dining experience at Blind Faith did not disappoint. I had the Mongolian Stir Fry and it was delicious! We will be back to try all the other yummy sounding items on the menu very soon!
Dinner at Blind Faith on a cold night was a delight worth the trek. I had never tried the Kung Pao and it was fabulous. It was quiet enough for an intense conversation and catch-up with a friend I hadn't seen in more than a year and the staff was attentive while not being intrusive.
They are extremely good about food allergies, gluten free, and vegan options.
This place is still a gem.
Sadly, I have to say I was very disappointed in the dishes. This coming from a vegan. I couldn’t even finish my meal (literally 3 bites) but, server never asked how I enjoyed it. Dish was removed by bus person who asked if I wanted to go and I said “no thanks” still I ordered dessert and experienced the same thing. Between 2 appetizers, 2 entree’s, 2 desserts & soft drinks did not think it was worth $100. Was hoping to love it but will never return.
a great vegetarian and vegan restaurant. A nice mix of menu items providing many choice options. The Bakery is connected to the restaurant that offers able vegan treats along side the dairy included treats - which the flourless chocolate cake was a top item.
Dishes are large portions - salad can be split for two or solo if only item eating -
the Thai peanut noodle was a very large portion and had a nice spice level.
I'm not a vegetarian, but I was willing to give this place a try. I ordered the spinach lasagna, and it was excellent. The waiter was helpful and friendly, and the food was well -prepared and arrived quickly enough for us to easily make it to downtown Evanston for a movie. I'd definitely go back.
Always Tasty! Had not had brunch at Blind Faith in a while and the menu was tweaked for the season. Everyone was satisfied with their choices and the joint was hopping! This is our go to place since two thirds our family is vegetarian but it still satisfies the omnivores.
Hard to find a veg/vegan restaurant but this fits the bill. Chef can take veggies and turn them into Asian, Italian, Mexican, French or all-American fare. Thai noodles, lasagna, Marsala, “burgers” are just some examples. Whether you want soup, salad, appetizers, sandwiches or full blown entrees you can find it here. The wine list is pretty good too. Prices are quite reasonable. Bakery goods to go also. Yum!
My wife and I enjoyed everything about history place! The food was fresh and delicious, the service was superb, and the staff was very proffesional. The food portions were generous and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Highly recommend this restaurant to anybody!
Very creative cuisine. Vegetarian meals can be boringly tofu-oriented. The chef at Blind Faith knows how to re-create gardein into something that really approximates chicken. The kung pao was great. The bim bop is consistently good. And Sydney, the waiter (and capital of Australia) is warm, personable and knowledgeable.
We always enjoy our visits to the Blind Faith Cafe. The food is excellent.
The prices are moderate. This time our server, Sid, was really good too.
My wife had some kind of different dish (with sweet potatoes and something
like meat, but it wasn't meat). I had Kamoosh, what I truly love at this
restaurant, nachos but different than nachos and very wonderful.
We will continue to go back.
Always warm service, great food and the best desserts! This place makes eating healthy effortless! But what makes Blind Faith really unique and a place I return to again and again is the staff--they make you feel at home and are excellent at what they do. Love this place!
