Blind Faith Cafe Ratings and Reviews
This was my first time visiting and I must say, I was very impressed with the menu selection and portion size. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was great! Outside of the lack of parking and waiter telling me that they were out of cauliflower wings (right before I overheard him taking orders for them from other tables), is definitely visit again.
We were in the Evanston area and did a search for a vegetarian/vegan restaurant for dinner. We are so glad we stumbled across the Blind Faith Cafe! We had the Kamoosh and Brussels Sprouts for starters. Both were delicious! The Kamoosh were basically nachos but they were probably some of the best nachos I've had in a long time! My husband had the Shiitake Walnut Loaf which as ok and I ordered the Thai Peanut Noodles which were delicious! We also got the vegan chocolate cake and vegan peanut butter chocolate cake to-go for dessert. Both were good but the peanut butter option was better, especially the next day as it was still moist.
We came back for a second time later in the week and ordered the Thai Peanut Noodles again (they were that good!) and Yellow Coconut Curry.
All in all, the food and the service were both great! This is definitely our new favorite vegetarian/vegan spot!
Good option for those looking for vegan comfort foods. Overall, the food was okay. My greek omlette was good/simple/guiltless, my friend's bibimbop was "a little too salty." Ambience was nice, really cozy. Minus a grouchy female hostess/food runner who threw our dumplings onto the table, the service was outstanding. I will likely visit again.
We went to celebrate a birthday. Would go there again. Great vegan experience. The kids meal was spicy for a young child, but it was replaced and it was great food. Even if you don’t like vegan food I’m pretty sure you’d enjoy what I had (a “chicken” pot pie).
I love the Blind Faith Cafe. Only started dining here in the past couple of years and I'm impressed with each visit - so why did I wait so long?!! The food is delicious and the service is excellent. Have been greeted warmly on each visit and love the cozy atmosphere. Recently met up with a friend for lunch - I had the spinach and "chorizo" quiche with salad (or the sky-high quiche as I called it - about triple the height of any quiche I've had - lol!) My friend had the spinach and feta omelette and said it was one of the best she's had. Highly recommend Blind Faith...and a stroll around the Dempster/Chicago St. neighborhood before or after. There are some quaint shops nearby.
Blind Faith is the go-to restaurant for vegetarians who want to have a real meal. Fortunately, the exclusively vegetarian menu offers meat-eaters some good variety. Their home made seitan does not taste like the mush in the frozen section of the supermarket. It tastes like real food. Our waiter Sydney always makes sure our experience is a pleasure.
We loved Blind Faith Cafe! We met some friends for dinner there and being new to the Plant Based Diet thing, we were hungry (!) for a dining experience in which we don't have to explain how we don't eat meat, fish, dairy, etc. and then struggle to figure out what it is we can eat from the menu ("order this without the cheese and the dressing, or this without the chicken", etc) Our dining experience at Blind Faith did not disappoint. I had the Mongolian Stir Fry and it was delicious! We will be back to try all the other yummy sounding items on the menu very soon!
Dinner at Blind Faith on a cold night was a delight worth the trek. I had never tried the Kung Pao and it was fabulous. It was quiet enough for an intense conversation and catch-up with a friend I hadn't seen in more than a year and the staff was attentive while not being intrusive.
They are extremely good about food allergies, gluten free, and vegan options.
This place is still a gem.
Sadly, I have to say I was very disappointed in the dishes. This coming from a vegan. I couldn’t even finish my meal (literally 3 bites) but, server never asked how I enjoyed it. Dish was removed by bus person who asked if I wanted to go and I said “no thanks” still I ordered dessert and experienced the same thing. Between 2 appetizers, 2 entree’s, 2 desserts & soft drinks did not think it was worth $100. Was hoping to love it but will never return.
a great vegetarian and vegan restaurant. A nice mix of menu items providing many choice options. The Bakery is connected to the restaurant that offers able vegan treats along side the dairy included treats - which the flourless chocolate cake was a top item.
Dishes are large portions - salad can be split for two or solo if only item eating -
the Thai peanut noodle was a very large portion and had a nice spice level.
I'm not a vegetarian, but I was willing to give this place a try. I ordered the spinach lasagna, and it was excellent. The waiter was helpful and friendly, and the food was well -prepared and arrived quickly enough for us to easily make it to downtown Evanston for a movie. I'd definitely go back.
Always Tasty! Had not had brunch at Blind Faith in a while and the menu was tweaked for the season. Everyone was satisfied with their choices and the joint was hopping! This is our go to place since two thirds our family is vegetarian but it still satisfies the omnivores.
Hard to find a veg/vegan restaurant but this fits the bill. Chef can take veggies and turn them into Asian, Italian, Mexican, French or all-American fare. Thai noodles, lasagna, Marsala, “burgers” are just some examples. Whether you want soup, salad, appetizers, sandwiches or full blown entrees you can find it here. The wine list is pretty good too. Prices are quite reasonable. Bakery goods to go also. Yum!
My wife and I enjoyed everything about history place! The food was fresh and delicious, the service was superb, and the staff was very proffesional. The food portions were generous and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Highly recommend this restaurant to anybody!
Very creative cuisine. Vegetarian meals can be boringly tofu-oriented. The chef at Blind Faith knows how to re-create gardein into something that really approximates chicken. The kung pao was great. The bim bop is consistently good. And Sydney, the waiter (and capital of Australia) is warm, personable and knowledgeable.
