Blind Faith Cafe
Server and chef were helpful and kind and went above and beyond to accommodate my requests, and the food was delicious.
Potsticker starter was over doughed and oily. Kung Pao entree was very good. Seitan (Marsala) was overcooked and leathery. Our server kindly took it off our bill. She should be commended for this. Blind Faith is a perennial for us, so this was disappointing. We will try again.
Service was definitely better than the food. Not that the food was bad but what I picked was very heavy on the sauce.
Great classy vegetarian food.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. Very little wait time for service.
First of all, this place has a great reputation for a reason. The fellow (always the same long-haired gentleman), sits us within 5 minutes of arriving, even with a line of people ahead of us. Very efficient. The waiter is super-friendly. Even the bus boy is working hard at keeping our glasses filled and our table cleared. The chefs are amazing---the food is out of this world delicious. I'm not even 100% vegetarian, but the food is truly the best comfort food around. My husband ordered the walnut-mushroom meatloaf, and practically licked his plate clean. I had the Seitan Marsala, which was fantastic. For dessert, we had the vegan chocolate cake and double chocolate cake---wonderful, especially when accompanied by a scoop of their handmade raspberry sorbet. The low-light ambiance, and the crowded but not too noisy, dining rooms were very festive, with their little white lights. Situated in a fun area of Evanston, right by Space---this is the perfect place for a before-show dinner, for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.
5 stars across the board.
Second visit the food was as good as I remembered
Great spot. We love coming here. Terrific vegan/vegetarian food with stellar desserts too.
Haven’t been here for a few years since we moved out of state. Brought our 93-year old mom here for a treat for us all. Every bit as good as we remembered.
It was busy but we were able to have good conversation without straining to hear across the table. The food was excellent and overall good feel at Blind Faith. Haven't been there in a few years but it keeps getting better.
Unique menu choices. Not what you typically find at many restaurants. Charlie was our waiter. Very personable and great service.
Such a high quality spot. The food is phenomenal. This place has withstood the test of time and when you eat there you understand why. I had the shiitake walnut loaf, so good. And I had a piece of the vegan peanut butter chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet.. omg
Love this place! Very tasty vegan and vegetarian dishes. Earth friendly restaurant and reasonably priced. Best chocolate cupcakes in the area! Don’t get to go very often, so it’s a treat when we do. 😊
Great! Good food! Nice experience.
I am not and never will be a vegetarian and neither were my 2 friends. However this place is amazing and I would definitely go back From the minute we walked in the door everything was perfect. The host greeted us and explained that our table had their check. There were a lot of people waiting but he kept checking in and updating everyone. Our waiter greeted us immediately and happily answered all our questions. The food itself was terrific - one had a curry - the other a poke and I had a fabulous enchilada! We were not rushed and the deserts were also delicious. Blind Faith was a surprising discovery - don't miss it!!!
An oasis of calm, Blind Faith combines white-tablecloth class with charm. Your server may sport piercings or tattoos, but he or she will dote upon you with genuine concern for your dining experience. One a rough-hewn hippie hang, the Blind Faith has evolved into a casually elegant exemplar of how meatless cuisine can be all things to all people--from macro plates to a hearty BBQ seitan on a bun. Take your date or your Mom for an intimate chat in one of the booths, or a gaggle of friends for a popup party at a big table (complete with organic beer and wine).
Blind Faith is a terrific venue for Sunday Brunch-the selections are great and wide in range-great bloody marys and wine. Very nice wait staff-I love it.
Excellent vegetarian - so many options you don't miss meat. Dessert particularly good. (carrot cake). One server seemed to be responsible for everything, which slowed things down, even though there was another guy in another room who was wandering back and forth with nothing to do.
Service was way over the top too aggressive, trying to cute but actually intrusive
Great food and great service.
Ambience was fantastic. Easy parking.
Lots of menu choices.
Very accommodating staff.
Fantastic service, excellent menu options, very fresh
We had a bit larger group that went for a special occasion. Had a great time. Food was excellent. Service was quite good. We were seated a bit away from the main dining room, so it was a bit quieter and easier for us to hear our table chatter. All in all, a delightful evening!
I'm a regular because the food and service is consistently great!
Delicious food and great service. I really like the orange mohito and the guacamole is the best I've had - not too spicy, just perfect. Lots of good, healthy entree choices and delicious desserts as well.
Great vegetarian food and they
Delicious food and nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
Food is as awesome as ever! We are liking the new menu items.
I was really surprised how good the food was. Great vegetarian.
Wait staff very professional, responsive and playful.
Great food! Great Service! Great atmosphere! Can't wait to return!
Delightful neighborhood place! A diverse menu with lots of choices. Large portions. We really enjoyed our dinner.
We had a lovely family brunch at Blind Faith. There were so many menu options which made it easy for everyone in our party of 9 to find something and the food was delicious. The service was wonderful.
This is a fine dining veggie establishment that truly satisfies. If you are looking to have a vegetarian meal that is not the same old sandwich or salad, this is the place to go. Blind Faith has mastered a variety of cuisines, Asian, Latino, Italian, etc., and produced delicious veggie entrees, some vegan, in each. And don't miss their murderous bakery!
Delicious vegetarian options and fabulous service. We’ll definitely be back!
My perfectly prepared soup and salad, with incredible seasoning/flavors, was as wonderful as every trip.
Delicious food! The Seitei Marsala is my favorite!
Our waiter was very courteous and good-natured.
Good food and of course a great service! We had a wonderful time!
This is my 4th time at Blind Faith - I brought my husband and two adult children this time. I was a little disappointed that our food wasn't as spectacular as my other visits (I was eager to share this neighborhood gem with my family). My husband enjoyed his vegetable lasagna, but the bibimbop, thai peanut noodles and teriyaki rice bowl were a little "eh." that day. But I will definitely return as I know we all can't be perfect 100% of the time! :)
Have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. The drive for us is over an hour and always well worth it. I have never left this place disappointed.
