The food was good and the service was prompt, and the hostess didn't mind that we were 10 minutes late for our reservation. However, the combination of very close tables and dim lighting made the restaurant feel like a noisy night club. Other sushi restaurants in the area have the same quality food with much more pleasant ambiance, so I don't think I will go here again.
Loud, terrible music selection (a radio station with commercials!), but really good service and quick and easy. Good location. BYO! Wings and sushi were good. Almost all their specialty rolls have spicy tuna or spicy crab so we didn’t get many.
Always have an incredible time at this place. Staff is always ready to assist and the owner is simply the best. He always comes to say hi and to check overall customer service experience.
Very good execution and exceptional service. The owner took a moment to say hi, ask how things were, and engage in a meaningful way that simply does not happen anymore. You would be hard pressed to find an owner/leadership team that is more involved in the employee and customer experience. Nice job Blue Sushi...
Great food and atmosphere.
The food is consistently outstanding, which is why we recently opted to take our sushi-connoisseur parents for dinner when they visited us from out of town. Not only was the food amazing as always, but the owner made a point to come to our table and teach us about sushi and even gifted us some of his prized unfiltered sake! If you want an authentic experience in Philly, it has to be Bleu!
We had lunch...sushi was great and reasonable and we brought a bottle of sake which they warmed for us. Even my NYC friend loved it and she is hard to please!!1
Very accommodating. I order an entree that I thought was grilled but was actually fried. I sent it back and not a problem. Very nice
Good they helped us set up an engagement party it was great!!!
Very much enjoyed our first visit last Saturday, a family gathering for a birthday. We were greeted by the owner, who took great pride in explaining the menu and new items (which we tried and found outstanding). Noise level was fine, even though the place had a "live" atmosphere among the guests. Prompt, efficient service. Excellent variety, satisfying the vegan and the sushi lovers among us. A great evening of good food.
Came up from Delaware for a late Valentine’s Day lunch. We were given amazing service, everyone was so nice and genuine. The food was outstanding. We’ll definitely be back!
Bleu Sushi ALWAYS goes above and beyond with their service and hospitality!! We have never had a sub par dining experience!! The food is fresh and delicious too!! It was my birthday and they truly made my celebration special. My boyfriend and I used to live in the neighborhood but we move to Fairmount about 3 years ago and it’s still the only sushi we eat in all of Philadelphia!! 💗
Exceptional customer service! Did not feel rushed and the waiters did amazing in checking up on us by conversations. Owner was the sweetest in thanking us for stopping by. Honestly this food is just to die for. I recommend the Eagles Roll (damn!!!!!) delicious.
Great food. Good service. Only a few customers on mid afternoon. Rolls were fresh, big, and delicious. Seaweed salad and gyoza were quite good as well.
Best sushi we’ve ever had. The owner was so sweet and came to introduce himself and check on us. He takes great pride in this establishment and his work and it totally shows!
Found Blue Sushi by accident, but will definitely be back. Everything was fresh, delicious, and expertly prepared. Service was outstanding and all the staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Quaint and well decorated… Best miso soup I’ve ever had! The red bean ice cream was also terrific! Excellent service. The waiter was very friendly
Hands down one of the best sushi I've ever had in the city. Let alone ever. The owner and staff were beyond amazing. I would recommend this place over morimoto, fat salmon and anywhere else in Philadelphia. 6 our of 5 stars.
Excellent service, the owner checked on us personally and actually followed up after to invite us back. One star off solely for the noise and crowd which really were indicative of the popularity not the establishments fault. otherwise a great sushi place.
Lunch specials are an amazing value. Highly recommend their lunch happy hour and dinner special. Their traditional Spicy tuna roll is very good along with the Temple roll.
BEST SUSHI IN TOWN. Impeccably fresh fish, huge menu of creative and delicious rolls. The shumai literally melt in your mouth - order more than one order bc they go down too easy! The Locust roll had the entire table literally freaking out over how good it was. New York roll was fantastic as well. Not one thing ordered was disappointing. On a whim we ordered the sea urchin special - Fantastic!! Best I’ve ever ever had. Service was kind, attentive and just plain awesome. Can’t wait to return.
Love this place! Go almost every weekend. Super nice staff, quick service, and delicious food!
Best sushi in Philly
Great place for dinner. Sushi is excellently made, and BYOB is a nice touch. Their specialty rolls are awesome. Love the Philly influenced names of the rolls.
Great atmosphere, fast food, amazing service
small place, creative sushi, good service, all good
Family get together over the holidays was made very special by the fine team at Bleu Sushi. Wonderful meal with sashimi, sushi, chirashi, and many appetizers. Met the owner and had a wonderful time. We will be back.
This is my second time coming. My first was for lunch and this time for dinner. Each time the staff was attentive and the ambiance was great. You also can't beat BYOB!!! Will def come back!
We had a great time at Bleu Sushi! We got the sushi boat, and it was delicious, we ate it all. The service was great, and the owner was awesome as well. He came out to talk to us a few times, very friendly and welcoming.
I can’t wait to come back!! There’s a Groupon that I’ll definitely be getting. The owner was so friendly and was talking to everyone!
We sought out Bleu after a friend recommended the place. One of our friends was down from the New England area and loves sushi so we brought them to Bleu. We were not disappointed in our choice. Everyone was friendly, there were generous portions for the price, sushi was fresh and delicious, the owner even made his way over to ask about our meal. Very impressed over all and will definitely return to this little hidden gem.
I went to Bleu Sushi for a special birthday dinner with reservations for 8pm on Saturday 12/8. Once I arrived the place was so crowded that I couldn’t even get in the door. I learned that all the people waiting also had reservations but were not being taken care of. The restaurant did not honor any of our reservations. They told me I’d have to wait for at least an hour. After waiting for a bit outside in the freezing cold, I decided to go to another restaurant. Absolutely ridiculous how poor the operation and management of this restaurant is! Just based off how they treated us, I would not recommend!
Had a reservation for 8:15. We arrived, and waited about 20 minutes for a table to open up. The owner came around to talk to us multiple times. Food was really good. It was extremely loud in the restaurant. I would go back.
Have you ever walked in a place and totally felt at home???
This is how we felt at Bleu Sushi. The owner Hendra, his daughter Vanessa and his cousin/ General Manager Fandy made us feel like we were at a family reunion (minus the creepy uncles). Ok, nice goes so far I get it but that along with great sushi , it makes for one hell of a restaurant. We have tried soooo many sushi places in the city, we now
say we saved the best for last!!
The food is great, but I had to shout just to talk to my friend two feet away. VERY loud for such a small restaurant.
Bleu Sushi was a wonderful discovery within walking distance of the Kimmel Center. The owner was very attentive, and offered free edimome and dessert, after our waiter mistakenly told us we could still order from the special priced early dinner menu at 6pm. Our Philadelphia-based daughter said it was the best sushi she has had so far in Philly.
The sushi is outstanding, and everyone was so nice and helpful.
My husband and I had a great first experience here. EVERY staff member was extremely friendly and helpful and seemed like they all worked as a team! The dining area was clear and well decorated. The food was delicious and fresh. Even the manager approached our table while we were finishing up and was extremely hospitable. The restaurant is BYOB which we did not know, but we always enjoy bringing the alcohol we prefer! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes Japanese/Sushi!
