Bleu Restaurant & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Decree was our server. He went out of his way to make it an excellent dining experience. Kudos to him for sure. Food highlights: burger sliders very tasty, mahi sandwich tender and flavorful, huge pork chop was moist and tender. Compared to our last experience before a Tiger game last year, good and service markedly upgraded. Keep it up!
I haven't been to this restaurant in 10 months and I was sorely disappointed. The service was terrible in the dining room. The chef had to come to our table to get the order correct. In the end, the food was not fabulous as I had expected it to be. Another disappointment was the bar service; I had to take two drinks back to the bar to get them corrected. No fault of the bar tender just the dining room server not putting the order in correctly. It will probably be another 10 months or more before I try it again.
Went here a few years ago and we had a great meal. They said the chief was the same. I ordered my pork chop I had last time. It was the best one I ever had. This time it was terrible. The waitress never stopped by to check if the food was alright. It was too done ( I ordered it medium to medium rare so it would be tender and juicy) and my wife's short ribs were very tough.
It was kind of busy that night and the waitress really wasn't qualified to be working there.
We had to ask for the bread earlier and my martini came in a cocktail glass in lieu of a martini glass. I should have known then it wasn't going to a good night.
I would not recommend going here.
Bleu did not prepare for the pre-concert crowd. The restaurant was packed as expected. We had a reservation and were seated after a 10 minutes wait. There was only one hostess trying to seat and set the whole restaurant. We waited more than 10 minutes for our server, then another 15 for our first drinks to come. 2 appetizers and 2 salads (ordered and delivered together) took another 50 minutes. The hostess and server were very nice and trying to do a good job but they were overwhelmed. Management should have a better plan.
We've been here many times, usually before a show or ballgame, and don't expect an amazing experience. It's all about the convenience for us. We took another couple before a concert and were there for hours!! It took forever to get our menus, forever to place our drink order, forever and a day to get our drinks and then place our food order. They weren't overly crowded either so all we could guess was understaffed.
We frequently go to Bleu before events at the Fed Ex Forum. Unfortunately, on this evening, we waited 45 minutes for our food to come and they forgot our appetizers completely. The food was good when it came and our waitress was kind but swamped. We will return in the future and hopefully it will be better because we know that it can be.
Our service was slow, although I feel the sweet waitress was doing all she could do with so many tables and the bar. It took a long time to get a drink. The food was cold and the hamburger we ordered well done was served rare. The restaurant is pretty and convenient to the Fed-Ex Forum.
This was the worst restaurant experience ever! I made reservations for 6 people for 5:45 on 7/5/17. We waited like 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. I ordered a cocktail and one of my friends did too off the cocktail menu. They were horrible. I've never sent a drink back neither had she. So, we decided to get a basic cosmopolitan. 30 minutes later the waitress brings 2 drinks that are almost clear, you can tell it was not a cosmopolitan. It tasted even worse. We just drank water. We had ordered our food before this was ever brought to the table. 7:00 we still have not received our food. We asked. It appears that food had been sitting on the counter for a long time. I don't know if it was ours or not. At 7:15 they start to bring some of our plates. The food was so cold, we asked for a manager. One of the chefs came out and was very apologetic and offered to bring one of the guest a slider appetizer since his fries and burger was cold. 3 of us ordered the filet that was served over mashed potatoes with asparagus. The potatos were cold and the steaks were Luke warm. Again this is at 7:15 our reservations were at 5:45. The one chef was extremely apologetic. The second Chef her jacket had Ann G. Executive chef if I recall she was a black female. She never apologized and just started snatching the plates off the table. She was so rude and abrupt she bumped one of my friends and didn't say excuse me or anything. She continued that until she removed every plate as though we had done something wrong. The other chef I did not see her name but she was a white female. Again apologized and told us not to worry. The poor waitress felt horrible and we did tip her. It wasn't her fault but she wasn't the best waitress either. With all that being said. I've eaten there numerous times in the past. The service has always been poor. The food has been ok. I do not understand what the issue is with this restaurant, it's inside the Westin and across the street from the Forum.
Our server was very nice, but the bar was extremely slow getting cocktails to us. We waited forever for our food and were not served at the same time. My bleu salad was not as described (no bacon what so ever). Very disappointing. Will not return before any Forum event.
This was my 2nd time trying Bleu; the first time wasn't great but I was hoping for an improvement. Unfortunately it felt like deja vu. There was only one other table of guests when we arrived and it still took a very long time to receive our food. We had tickets for a 7pm show at the Orpheum so we made 4:30 reservations. By the time we were able to pay our bills we got to the Orpheum with only 5 or so minutes to spare. For the amount of money we spent the experience just wasn't worth it.
Hotel restaurant so not usually busy unless there's a Grizzlies game. Very nice atmosphere and good food. Service is great. Patio view of Gibson Guitar Factory and FedEx Forum. Highly recommend for travelers, especially if you haven't been to Memphis before. Start here and go one block to Beale St. You'll enjoy your night:)
We went for the Mother's Day brunch and it was amazing. They had a wide variety of food from sushi and oysters to omelets and everything was nicely seasoned. The dessert section was also amazing. It was definitely worth the drive downtown and I could definitely see myself going back again next year.
We made a reservation before a concert. Everyone there was there to eat before the concert. We arrived at 5:45 and long story short got our food at 7:10 and we needed to be in our seats across the street at 7:30. They automatically added 20% to our bill and I don't believe it was our servers fault but the management; I hope she didn't have to do tip out because she only deserved it. Management was doing a poor job of supporting the staff. I will be back because the food was good but will try to avoid before an event again.
The hostess Ms Deberry was awesome. She checked on us throughout the meal. Our server was terrible. She did not introduce herself and she kept saying you guys need to hurry up and order because I have a party to do. We never learned her name and she was very unpleasant. She was rude to us as well as to the other servers. She told my 7 year old nephew he was taking too long to order and needed to hurry up. She rushed me as well saying she was waiting on me so she could get to her next table. I did not appreciate her rushing us to order nor her rudeness. She knew my aunt was angry so she asked her what's wrong several times and only asked her if she needed anything. I have been to The Bleu several times and received excellent service. This experience will cause me to never return.
We had a group of 10, which is sometimes a challenge for service. However, our table was set when we arrived, and the service was very prompt, professional, and courteous. Everyone ordered a variety of food and all agreed the food was great. Will definitely go again!
The ceasar salad, filet, and budger were great, but the creme burle was cold. The servers were very friendly, but not very attentive. The chef was very pleasant, and we were very appreciative, when she came and fielded our question about a food allergy directly.
The food flavor was wonderful. The fries were cold though. Although the staff was friendly, there was a definite lazy factor. Salads came out at different time, the drinks from the bar were not made the same each time, every table surrounding us were not bussed and dirty. I believe the staff needs training and once their service level is consistent, this would be an incredible restaurant.
