I’ve been to Bleu many times, but this was the first time I left less than satisfied. I had the fried seafood “platter” (I’m not sure what they call it), and it was at the level of the local seafood establishments that I don’t consider to be fine dining. In addition, it was actually less filling than those establishments.
They seemed a bit overwhelmed for the holiday. The food took awhile, it had very little flavor and our server was rarely seen. Our mimosas weren’t even a third of the glass full. I won’t be back any time soon.
Brunch for Easter. I get that it was going to be busy. However, when I asked for a celery stalk for my (very un-tomatoey Bloody Mary the wait staff said, "No." Not, "No, I am sorry we are out." or "No, I am sorry that is not how we serve our Bloody Marys." Just no.
When the eggs benedict arrived, there was no hollandaise sauce. When I finally go the waitstaff's attention, her response was, "It's just thin, you can't see it." The English muffin was dry. Also, when she returned with the hollandaise sauce, it was not "thin" it was broken. The poached eggs were overcooked.
These are brunch basics.
The customer service was great! Food was not as good as it normally is. The quantity was small for the price of the meal. Didn’t have one of the items listed on menu. I would recommend again to see if food quality improves
Had a family Easter brunch at Bleu. It was a wonderful meal and the service was terrific.
This restaurant is always a delight regardless of the event. We love the fact that when we are there we can talk quietly and still hear the music. The food has never been less than deleious, the service sterling and the atmosphere relaxing. It has become one of our favorite restaurants for every occasion.
Brunch. Fairly ordinary, somewhat overpriced. Asked that eggs Benedict eggs be "hard," but one was runny.
I loved the restaurant all except the smell. There was a sewer smell which almost took our appetites. It smelled like they tried covering the smell with air fresheners.
We dine here frequently and have always had a reservation. We have NEVER had to wait. We had a 7:00 reservation for 3-10-18 for a party of 3. We waited 45 minutes for our table. That was a little long for a reservation. There were several other parties that walked in when we did, with the same reservation (7:00) and they waited just as long as we did. That is not the norm with this restaurant, but for this particular evening, we were trying to be home to watch a ballgame that started at 8:30. Needless to say, that did not happen. Our food did not arrive until 8:10 and we missed the first half of the game. But, the food is always amazing! And the service is great most of the time.
Made reservations so we’re seated immediately! Pleasant and attentive serving staff. Manager checked in with us. We were not rushed thru dinner. Had plenty of time to talk and leisurely eat our meal.
Nice atmosphere. Waitress seemed to be in a hurry at first. Our first time dining here so it would have nice if she had been friendlier and more helpful.Food was good. We both had steaks . Husband raved about asparagus. The Heath bar cheesecake was magnificent.
Always love Bleu. Sam is a great manager, always goes out of his way to make sure everything is just right. Food is consistently terrific and service is spot on. Great place for lunch or dinner!
We enjoyed our meal. You should not go there and be in a hurry, which was fine.
Food was delicious, service a little lacking (was a very busy night). Main complaint was the noise level. There were 6 of us and you could only talk to the person next to you. Not a comfortable, enjoyable conversation conducive setting.
Food and service was great!! Will definitely go back
The service is great. They always go out of their way to make it a pleasant experience. If you need to make accommodations they try their best to make it happen. Always a great meal and wonderful atmosphere. We will be dining there again real soon.
The food and the service has been great every time I've eaten at Bleu. Highly recommended.
The place was pretty much dead when we arrived at the main lunch hour - that should be a hint. I had eaten here before and it was no better this time. The server not only contradicted me at the table but said it again as he walked away - all of that over salad dressing on the side!? The menu online does not reflected the one at the location- told it was updating. Went there for an item my father in law wanted for his birthday - he was disappointed since it was not available. My husband has the patty melt - he ate half of it and zero cold fries - he usually eats everything. I added an appetizer last min — glad I did because it took FOREVER for the food to arrive—- and the place was empty! The calamari I think looked and tasted premade. Tough and chewy and oily. I had a salad — wilted greens and nothing really on it since I didn’t want cheese. Also had the tuna appetizer for my main — not fresh - texture was mealy and had no seasoning. Was supposed to be pepper encrusted. The manager was nice but he should have been wondering where our order was.
My husband and I went for a post-Valentine dinner. Our first time at Bleu and we were pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere and much quieter and cozier than the noisy Village Tavern across the street. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. We were hungry so just ordered entree's. They started us with complementary warm bread and dipping oil. Perfect portion not to overfill you. Both our entrees were well-presented and DECLIOUS. We finished our plates. Dessert was just finishing our wine just relaxing in conversation.
We skimmed menu for future visits which we plan to make.
Also note, manager passed table to make sure all was okay which was a nice gesture. I would definitely recommend Bleu to anyone looking for a great meal in an atmosphere to match.
My wife and I went here for our Valentines date and it was wonderful. Service was a little slow but it wasn't bad being that we were on a date and taking our time enjoying each other's company. The food was great. I could have done with a little larger portion on my Tuna but it was delicious. My wife had the Fried Chicken and it was awesome. I have never eaten any greens that I liked except for the ones they serve here. The overall experience was very enjoyable. We will be back.
Everything was fine. I did speak to the manager about the excessive use of salt in our meals. He was very gracious and understood our concerns. He planned to address it immediately. I have eaten there before and it is usually very good. This would not keep me from visiting again.
Went for Valentines Day Dinner. Restaurant was very busy, but Sam and staff performed flawlessly. My wife and I were seated timely, waiter was very attentive, and food prep and service excellent. We had a great Valentines dinner!
We were seated upon arrival with no wait. The U-shaped booth was very roomy and comfy. Waiter was polite and efficient. My meal was great. My husband was less pleased with his chicken and felt it was overcooked. But, it was Valentine's Day and they were busy. Overall, it was a good experience.
Girlfriends favorite restaurant in the area. The hardest working manager I've ever seen. Keeps the restaurant and staff on point. Would definitely recommend. Shrimp and grits are awesome..
Amazing food! And great atmosphere! Went for Valentine Day date and it did not disappoint!
Birthday celebration. The only complaint I have is that we had asked for a calamari appetizer but received a kabob. We could have sent it back but it wasn’t worth the hassle. The kabob was good but I had my mouth watering for the calamari.
Great service and food!!
We have eaten at this restaurant at least a dozen times over the last year . The manager " Sam " does a great job. That said we were there Saturday night at 6 :30 PM and could not find a place to park had to park a long ways away at a hotel. The reason parking lot was full is because they had a large party of guests in their special banquet room. They simply were overrun with guests. Our food was over cooked. We waited 15 minutes for our wine, and it seemed our server was also over worked. She was pleasant but just slow. We will give them another chance but maybe not on a Saturday night.
We met a couple of friends for a late lunch and we were all in the mood for comfort food. We tried one of the Blue Plate Specials this time. The flounder was really good, mashed potatoes were scrumptious and the fried okra was the best in town as usual. For dessert, we split the pecan pie and the cinnamon bun bread pudding--outstanding! Sam was as welcoming as always and Jen took great care of us. We will be back soon!
Reservations were 6:30 and we were not seated until 7. Had to ask for bread. Restaurant was over booked. Food was very bland. Waitress was good but over worked. Will think twice before going back. This was our second visit and it really wasn't any better than the first visit.
The food was pretty good. Had shrimp and grits was good not great. Wife had flounder it was great. Drinks were great.
DELICIOUS, AS ALWAYS! Thank you for a great evening!
Bleu is our favorite restaurant in Winston-Salem. Not only is the food delicious, but the atmosphere is perfect for getting together with friends. This time we tried the Spice Crusted Salmon. The fish was fresh, cooked just right, and the combination of the spices along with the chick peas and the vegetables was quite tasty. The fried okra is the best in town! For dessert, we had the Cinnamon Bun Bread Pudding. We rarely eat dessert, but when we do, we always order this and it is always scrumptious. Haley was our server and she was friendly and attentive. Sam, the manager, always makes us feel like we are family. We will be back soon!
Excellent as always
Delicious, delightful, divine! Love everything on the tapas appetizer menu. Great wine list and fresh, creative entrees.
I took my wife for her birthday. (Thankfully the staff didn't sing!) The food, service, and atmosphere were great. We very much enjoyed our time there and I got a rave review from my wife for selecting it. Try it, you'll like it.
While I'd likely recommend it, we probably won't return anytime soon. It was just "blah". The waitress was okay friendly, but didn't wow us; a sign of a bustling economy I suppose. All in all, a B-
I had made a reservation for 7 PM, but apparently making a reservation does no good. When I went in the door, I told the hostess that I had a reservation and gave her my name. She confirmed that I had a reservation, then wrote my name down on a list of people waiting, and 20 minutes later finally seated us. I was a little surprised at that since I had made a reservation.
Phenomenal service and food. They were really well prepared for a busy night. I was able to get a drink, have an entree, and dessert, and leave all in 30 minutes. That was just absurdly quick, but the food was all fresh!
