Bleu Restaurant and Bar Ratings and Reviews
We went out with some friends with whom we had not seen in a while. They had not dined at Bleu for dinner and it was an excellent choice. We all selected something different. Ambience is modern but inviting and attractive. Sam is terrific host, wait staff excellent.
She Crab Soup had a couple of decent chunks of crab and while the soup had a lovely texture, it lacked flavor for me. I started looking for a salt shaker, as it seemed like that would do the trick but there was one on any table nearby.
The menu said that lunch entrees come with mashed potatoes and veggies, yet when my food came out it was Risotto for some reason.
Risotto was cooked perfectly, and the scallops as well. The dish was topped with a truffle vinaigrette. However this oil didn't resemble any taste of truffle oil at all. It tasted like cheap soy sauce. The sauce overpowered the dish completely and just making it extremely salty.
After packing the remainder to go, I went back to my office and warmed the food up. This time I actually took paper towels to dap the excess oil off the dish, it actually tasted like how it should have tasted the whole time.
We have always had a great meal at Bleu. It is tucked a little out of the way but not hard to find. Even though the restaurant was very busy with Wake Forest's Parents Weekend we received wonderful service by Anna. Our food was delicious and service was very attentive. Our out of town friends were impressed. Don't forget this little gem when you are looking for dining out options.
Outstanding service. Great selection of Martinis. Food very good, lovely restaurant. Always enjoy being there. Very clean and great ambiance. Highly recommend for out of town guests and great Saturday night dinner. Use to have music in the bar on weekends. Understand this may be coming back.
Since moving to Winston we had thoroughly enjoyed Bleu even recommending it to friends that were from the area but yet to visit. Not wanting to cook and craving a good steak, we ventured here 8/28/17 for dinner and boy were we sorely surprised. Our waitress and the maitre'd were fabulous and attentive as always but the food left much to be desired. The crab in our appetizer tasted frozen still and both steaks were tougher than nails. I ordered my steak Medium and my wife Medium Rare. Both of us struggled to cut into the steaks and they were tasteless, not evenly cooked, and just all around disappointing. After we paid for our meal I was informed the line cooks were new and having some problems adjusting, but there was just too much wrong with the food to warrant giving this another try. Truly disappointing culinary experience.
Our server, Jenna, was fantastic and very attentive. These people really hustle and want to ensure you have everything you need. The food was excellent! My husbands steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. This was our first time at Bleu and we will definitely return
As usual the Manager Sam checked on us several times. We had the Salmon and also Catfish. Both were fresh, tasty and presented well! Good not great wine list. We chose Simi Chard. It paired great with our fresh fish. this is our go to place in Winston ! Is it perfect,no but service and food our really good.
Enjoyed Sunday brunch here as we frequently do. Both of us started with the soup of the day, gazpacho, which was a little spicy but good. One had fried chicken and waffles which was delicious. The other had the egg white omelet with vegetables & goat cheese. One of the best omelets ever! Requested grits as the side accompaniment which were quite tasty. The fresh fruit was also really good. Melon & strawberries were sweet. Chris was our server, very pleasant fellow, and he took good care of us.
Exceptional service and food. Our server ( Meredith ) went way beyond the normal service requirements. We had a reservation and were seated immediately... unlike some other places that have you waiting even when you have a confirmed reservation. Friday night is apparently "live" music night and the noise level was our only negative issue. Otherwise it was a great experience.
We loved our first experience at this gem of a place. Fell in love with service by Meredith. Can't say enough at how happy we are. Appetizers are Great! Entrees taste spectacular. Bit pricey, but that works for us because it keeps the place authentic and I don't mind spending if it's worth it.
We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed......whether it's dinner with the family or lunch with my friends! This particular day there were 5 of us....4 of us had steaks and one had salmon, all good. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The wait staff has always been excellent ~
I met some colleagues for a business dinner. We were warmly welcomed and quickly seated. the waitress was very patient as we waited for late attendees. The appetizers were wonderful and the drinks were perfect. We had a long meeting but were not rushed (who does that anymore?). I intend to return for entrees on a busier night to determine whether Bleu stays on my favorites list, but for now, the total experience was worth the price.
We chose Bleu for Mother's Day. My daughter and I had been wanting to try it and we were told to pick the restaurant. We chose the restaurant because of the good amount of options on the menu- dinner salads, burgers, sandwiches, ckn, steak, seafood..... However, we got there and found out there was a very limited menu for Mother's Day. That information was not on the website or anywhere when I booked. The options that were available were more expensive and more eclectic dishes which for most of us was an issue. There were no burgers, grilled chicken and very few dinner salads to choose from. When I asked about it the waitress about the menu online she just snipped back at me 'we just have a limited menu today.' The food was very good, but I doubt we will be back due to this.
We sat at the bar until our table was ready, so we took advantage and order drinks. Very good bartender but sadly they don't have copper mugs or ginger beer to make Moscow or Kentucky mules.
Very busy on Mother's day but they took care of quickly and efficiently. Rachel is a lovely person and definitely as cheerful and caring a waitress as you'll find. Risotto and scallops were excellent and the braised short ribs were delicious and super tender.
We'll be back and recommend it.
Table had 1 appetizer plate and one set of silverware for party of 4, even after appetizer was served. The blackened ribeye(~$26) ordered medium rare was neither blackened nor properly seared. I also couldn't eat 1/4 of it because it was straight fat. The collard greens were like cardboard. The goat cheese encrusted chicken had no "crust" and was a piece of chicken with a small amount of oily cheese. I like the vibe of the restaurant, but I do expect better execution for the prices they charge.
