About Bleu Northeast Seafood
At Bleu Northeast Seafood we aim to provide a warm, friendly and refined dining experience in a comfortable and modern setting. We celebrate the connection of Burlington and Lake Champlain to the sea by providing the finest quality regional seafood. While giving a nod to the French heritage of the lake’s namesake we draw influence from the St. Lawrence region as well as the New England coast and the Canadian Maritimes. We work with small purveyors and fishermen to ensure the fish are caught or raised with the most sustainable practices possible. In true Vermont style we also work closely with area farmers and food producers to get the highest quality meat, produce, cheese, and baked goods.

Bleu Northeast Seafood Ratings and Reviews
Expected the evening to be excellent, but was disappointed. We were seated quickly and the waitress was very attentive, but we waited a long time to get our food. Surprising when only two tables were occupied. The meal was very lacking. My date had the swordfish, which was decent, but my meal, the salmon, was about as bland as bland could be. I will say the fish was cooked well, but the whole meal lacked ALL flavor. Quite unfortunate since you're paying a hefty price for the dish. The prices were generally expensive for what you received. Not the worst restaurant in Burlington, and in a good location, but likely won't go back.
My wife and I made a reservation for a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was quiet with only a few tables occupied. Our waitress was cheerful, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Unfortunately the food was the big disappointment - overly huge amounts of food piled on the plate, so much so that it took one's appetite away. If the kitchen could improve their plating, and management drop prices a little, Bleu could improve their rating.
We were guests at the hotel and decided to eat here because of torrential rain. The food was very good, the ambiance is very nice. Our visit was a bit thrown off by our server who was not very attentive, or maybe forgetful. It took him so long to bring over a dessert menu that we decided to skip it; we had asked for it with coffee which we received and was more than half way through when he asked if we wanted dessert.
Took my grandparents to this restaurant and we all enjoyed it! They had a great special, but if you’re not interested in whatever they’re serving that day, the mushroom risotto (with or without scallops) and fish and chips were great. Overall, definitely the kind of place you want to bring your parents for parents weekend.
Bonus: bring enough people for that table in the window for an awesome people-watching/lake-view experience!!! We had 5 and they seated us there.
I took my boyfriend here for his 40TH Birthday. We had an amazing server, Lindsay. She was prompt and kind. She was also very helpful and took the time to write us a list of the local scene...places to try. We finished every single bite of our food, including our dessert from this fabulous bakery calles Mirabelles Cafe and Bakery. Thank you Burlington for being such an amazing town.
This restaurant is located in the Marriott Hotel- which it would be most helpful if that was disclosed prior to getting there and trying to find it.
I have to say I was very disappointed in this place. The menu is just plain weird very limited. I expected a seafood experience and what we found was fried fish and chips, lobster roll "salad" and other strange items. I think it is a stretch calling this a seafood anything. The fish and chips were greasy. The lobster roll salad was dry and did not taste fresh at all. The drinks were "off" and overall I think you can find better places to eat than this.
Bleu is consistently a good option for both dinner and breakfast/brunch, especially if you are staying at the hotel. The seafood is good, but the appetizers are really good, especially the fried whole belly clams, which are sinfully rich. The charcuterie plate is also a good choice, as is the green salad with blue cheese. The hamburger is a classic, with tasty fries. The wine list has some nice choices by the glass, and martinis were excellent. For breakfast, the cheese omelet is light and fluffy, cooked just the right amount. Pork sausage is good as a side dish. Pancakes are definitely for the hungry, and quite filling! We had no trouble getting copious refills of coffee.
We went for breakfast/early brunch. Quite empty. Menu is good. Food was above average. Unfortunately service was slow and poor. Waitress spilled water as she was pouring which can happen, no big deal, but never wiped it up, even though she came back several times for other reasons. Had to ask another staff member to do so.
Very pleasant evening without being spectacular.
First choice beer was not available and, with no explanation, our entree took an excessively long time to arrive - that shouldn't happen.
Not the greatest accoustics in the world; got thoroughly fed up with hearing the life story of a blowhard close by, but not THAT close.
Food was very good and the server was pleasantly attentive, except when our delayed entree became overdue.
As usual , food and service at Bleu were excellent. Bleu feels like a grown-up restaurant. You can enjoy conversation and a leisurely meal. There are a lot of nice touches. The complimentary marinated olives that arrive once you are seated are delicious and make you feel welcome. The lemon ice cream, which accompanied the raspberry tart was smooth and creamy, yet light - fabulous.
We were staying in the hotel above the restaurant and just wanted a quiet end to the evening to celebrate the last day of our anniversary weekend. We had the surf and turf and a salad, with a couple of the designer drinks while we watched the sun set. The waiter was attentive, and the food was very flavorful and perfectly put together. Olives and bread were a nice touch. We had also enjoyed the charcuterie plate and drinks at the bar a couple days earlier. The decor was relaxing, and we noted the map on the glass at the back of the bar, and the lovely wood tabletop in the booth where we sat. They also had three kinds of sea salt in a box on the table, which was fun to try with the bread and butter. The food itself didn't really need any additional seasoning. We would eat there again next trip - we missed our chance for the lobster rolls!
Very good experience! Although this is not a restarant for a younger audience. My boyfriend and I went here and they seemed almost shocked to see two 18 year olds. The room was very beautiful and where we sat next to the window we had a very nice view of the lake. The food was good and the staff always asked if there was anything else we needed. Overall, it was very fancy and fun, but not for a younger audience.
We visited Blue to see whether it was really the best seafood restaurant in Burlington. It is not. It is significantly over priced. The food was average at best. The fish and chip dish was unpleasant and the lobster roll very ordinary. We will not be returning and feel sorry for visitors to the Marriott who dine there thinking that it is one of BURLINGTON's signature locations because they are unaware of the vibrant food scene else where in town.
Went on a Monday night and the place was very quiet. It likely picks up later in the evening. Had the scallop appetizer as an entree. The scallops were perfectly cooked. Had the seasonal sorbet for dessert. Kind of underwhelming, honestly. Our server was excellent; just attentive enough. The ambiance is warm and modern. Bleu is a good choice for a working dinner.
Disappointing. Expecting a great seafood restaurant; but experiencing much less. Menu selections especially shellfish were limited. Portion size was small for the price. Service was fair at best due to only two servers handling the entire house. There are better choices in Burlington.
We are quite willing to pay premium prices for premium food in terms of presentation, taste, textures, flavors, and healthiness. My son and his wife ( from LA) , as well as my wife, were disappointed on all of the above counts. I was especially distraught with the amount of fatty deep fried material that enclosed the fish on my order of fish and chips. For a total tab of about $300, we feel we can and should reasonably expect more.
A superb experience as always. I had the lobster roll which was small but delicious, perfect after an afternoon of strolling with parents visiting from out of town. Dad ordered fish and chips, which was perfect too. Jonathan was our server and we couldn't have asked for better. Highly recommend Bleu for a date or a nice night out with friends/family.
Had a great time from start to finish. We were given the best table in the house (beautiful view of the lake), but we arrived early so were directed to the bar. Drinks were fantastic, and table was available shortly after. This was a special event for us, and everyone from the host to the waitstaff was aware and made an effort to help us celebrate.
Food was very good, wine was excellent, and staff was friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting!
We had a great time here celebrating our anniversary. Trish, our wonderful waitress, went out of her way to make our evening special. Frank, the bartender, made my favorite martini even though he had to run next door for blue curaçao. Who does that, right? Our meal was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and friendly.
