Bleu Boheme Ratings and Reviews
Our only problem was a rather long wait for the server to collect our payment. We had long since finished dessert and coffee and we sat and we sat. Got passed by several time and ignored even though it should have been apparent that we were ready to leave. Kind of surprising because up until then service was fine. This is something that I am sure the restaurant will address.
MARVELOUS MEAL!!!! I went to Blue Boheme for a belated Christmas celebration with a girlfriend. We had a marvelous meal, start to finish! We started with the charcuterie appetizer, a delicious combination of cheeses and meats. We shared a salad, which was excellent! I had the salmon entree with vegetables and a curry rice that was extraordinary!!! We topped off the meal sharing a chocolate mousse that was delicious! Great food, nice ambiance, excellent service, a delightful experience, overall. I would recommend Blue Boheme to anyone!!!
We visited for Thanksgiving. The food was absolutely delicious. I loved the options we were given for starter, main course and dessert. The ambiance was perfect. It was exactly what you would hope for being in a quaint, French restaurant with candlelight at every table (wax overflowing onto the candlesticks). This Thanksgiving was wonderful thanks to Bleu Boheme.
Our server Angela was fantastic as was the entire crew that helped at our table (thank you!). The food was delicious. We came for Thanksgiving and had beef cheeks and the duck. It was all prepared very well. The appetizers (beet salad, crab cakes, charcuterie and squash soup) were all fantastic. The desserts were magnificent as well. We were a table of four and were able to try four of the five desserts served that day (gingerbread, chocolate mousse, three cheese cheesecake and pumpkin brioche). Family friendly restaurant too. Enjoy!
Great, but the outside of the risotto was too crunchy, to the point of being hard to cut. (The flavor was good, though). On the other hand, the fried goat cheese on the salad was excellent, and the salmon was superb, melt-in-your mouth delicious as always. The same was true of the chocolate mousse , as always. The turkey could have been a little bit more flavorful, although in confit form it was more tasty. The cheesecake was delicious, according to my daughter (this was the first time we ordered it). The waitstaff was lovely: nicely attentive yet discreet, observing from afar to see if anything was needed, rather than continually bothering us as so often happens elsewhere. What a refreshing change! This is worth acknowledging.
We had opera tix and told the waiter we needed to leave at 6:30. He lost track of the time so we had to take the dessert that came with our meals with us. The gingerbread dessert was burned, dry and just terrible -- it got tossed out after one bite. The beef bourguignon was pretty fatty, little actual meat. My friend had the salmon and just loved it. Part of the issue might have been that folks line up outside the restaurant to get in right at 5 PM. So, the kitchen probably gets slammed with orders all at the same time and it might affect how well they can prepare the meals ordered. I liked the restaurant and will go back to see if things are just a tad better next time.
Went to Bleu Boheme on a date night with my wife last Wednesday. The decor and ambiance are great, very romantic. However, the lighting was a little low, which made it difficult to read the laminated menu. The menu is diverse, which is great. We ordered the foie gras to share as an appetizer, then, I ordered the mushroom raviolis and my wife ordered the trout after being recommended by the waitress.
I thought some of the food did not make sense, such as the trout served with french fries. The trout was dry as well.
The mushroom raviolis' sauce was a little too loose, I could not coat the raviolis with it.
On a good note, the foie gras was very good, as well as the Pinot Noir.
Great atmosphere and menu. Just fails at execution. Steak tartare should not be made ahead and should be seasoned (if you aren't going to provide accoutrements for the diner to do so him/herself). The onion soup, for all it's hefty price, was just thin, lacking any depth of flavor. Try making a broth next time. A real one made with bones you've roasted.
I've been here several times before and while this experience was worse, I'm afraid they have all had the same theme. Shame they can't elevate the food to the ambiance. Or the prices.
We were quite late for our reservation due to events outside our control, but were welcomed and made to feel wanted and cared for. The trout, the lobster crepe, onion soup and duck were all absolutely wonderful. Our server was warm, but not intrusive, and quite knowledgeable . It was a lovely evening after a very busy day! Thank you!
I loved the food and service! Unfortunately, the restaurant was way too loud. We had a lot of trouble hearing each other. We would have stayed for dessert, but we wanted to be able to enjoy some conversation too. So we left to go somewhere quieter to enjoy dessert and coffee.
The service was excellent the atmosphere was charming and cozy. Unfortunately the food, primarily the recipes, was just not successful. My musssels were prepared with bacon in the sauce so the bacon was limp and tasteless. We shared escargot dish that featured mushrooms and a non traditional sauce that was very so so. One friend had a New York steak he just said it wasn't good. I didn't try it. Other friend complains that the beef bourguignon was too fatty though I thought it was tasty. The fourth person had another non-traditional mussels dish that she liked. We shared the flourless chocolate cake which was so so and did not have chocolate intensity that I have enjoyed in this dish and other places.
I would repeat that the wait staff was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasing. I would consider trying it another time with it getting different food but my expectations are not that great. And it's not inxpensive.
