Not quite Bland on Main, but not nearly 4.5 stars either. All of the entree choices were predictable, so we ordered multiple small plates. The raw dishes were fresh but the tempura vegetable dish was disappointing - heavy and greasy. The grilled vegetables were overcooked and overoiled. The pretzel bread was tasty although extremely oversalted.
This is a BYOB establishment.
We go to Blend when we're going to the Theatre. The food is always good, however this time, the flatbread was soggy, in the past it was quite crisp. Love the new menu!
The restaurant was dirty and the food was awful. My husband’s steak tasted like chemicals from the grill.
We have been to Blend many times and have not been disappointed. But that changed this time.
We went with 2 other couples before the theatre. Service started out fine but when we were ready to order could not find our waiter. The menu is new and had some very interesting items that sounded promising.
2 of us ordered the scallops with corn succotash. Scallops were seared nicely but the succotash could have had so much more flavor, it was plain and bland. 2 ordered the Halibit and it looked very nicely seared also but they said it was very dry and overcooked. My husband ordered the special veal chop That was very pricey and very bland and the risotto cake was soggy and tasteless. The best was the NY strip steak.
I was sorry we had suggested Blend, neither couple had been before and will probably not return.
Been to Blend on Main many times before the play at Algonquin. We usually eat at Blend on Main. The food was very good as usual. Would recommend this restaurant.
We had a lovely dinner...the wait staff was very attentive. Nice easy overall.
Didn’t bring bread to the table - including dessert.
Service not as good as in past. Bring back Mediterranean salad.
Very expensive for the quality and amount of food you get. Food was good, but not worth it.
My wife and I had our date night without the kids. We decided to use our Groupon for Blend. It is the third time we have used a groupon there and our 6th visit to the restaurant. The food is outstanding and we left knowing we will be going back again and again.
Love Blend on Main. The food is absolutely wonderful every time I've eaten there whether its off the menu or buffet style for a special holiday occasion. The servers are very attentive and the atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and welcoming. Just be careful not to book too many people in the dining rooms on special occasions. The less the better.
Easter buffet with our family..just wonderful!!..The Blend remains one of our favorite places to dine!
As expected Blend did not let us down. This was their Easter buffet and there was a nice selection of food from a very good raw bar to various pastas, meats, vegetables, fish, chafing dishes, and desserts. The entire staff were most courteous and attentive.
Wonderful menu! Everything we ordered from soup, appetizer, entree, to dessert was amazing. To top it off it’s a byob :) I’ll definitely be going back!
Always enjoy Blend but this time they brought the wrong appetizer to my wife. They quickly took it back but by the time they brought the correct appetizer, I was completely finished. Otherwise a fine meal.
Food is very flavorful and nicely presented. The room is nicely decorated and produces an intimate ambiance. Service was very good, but not outstanding. The menu is a bit limited and portions are smaller than I'm used to, but overall it was very good!
Great menu and delicious food. A little pricey, but you leave having enjoyed what you ate.
Place was full at 8:30 Jersey Shore Resturant Week Everything was good I think 16.00 upcharge for Halibut was overpriced every other resturant we visited for resturant week the average uptick for Steak was 7.00
Dined at Lou's on Saturday, which happened to be Restaurant Week. Menu was a little different from the standard offerings, but plenty of choices. We had the soup of the day and I had the optional Flatbread both were very good. We had the Salmon from the menu and the optional Duck, Duck, Goose option. Both dinners were very good. The only down of the evening was the noise level in the restaurant. I requested a table in a quiet area of the restaurant and they were apologetic for seating us in the only open table which was in the center of the dining room. Also there were a few large parties that were loud to the point of being rude. It was difficult to have a conversation at the table.
The food was amazing and a great value, possibly it will be quieter on a weeknight.
Food was outstanding as was the service. A little too noisy but we could pretty much hear each other adequately and have good conversation. Definitely will go back. Great find!
First time trying. Glad we did. Food and service were very good. Compressed pork belly, asparagus soup and beef short rib were all delicious. Chocolate torte was melt in your mouth. Didn’t know it was BYOB but there is a liquor store a few steps away. Will dine there again.
excellent evening but very loud. Food, service and ambiance were great.
Appetizers were just ok. My Wife had salad. I had a deconstructed BLT. I never ate Pork Belly previously. Waiter recommended it. I guess I’m NOT a fan. We both had Short Rib entrees. It was fork tender and literally melted in your mouth. LIKELY THE BEST SHORT RIB THAT I EVER ATE!! Dessert was Flourless Chocolate Cake and Bread Pudding. Both were very good.
Really good food. Little noisy, but that was expected being an older building. Chef came to the table and made the experience that much better. The restaurant was clean nicely decorated and the service was nice and attentive.
We were seated upon arrival; reservation for 7:00 pm. Our server was very attentive and even brought out a wine cooler for our white wines. From appetizers to desserts everything came out of the kitchen hot and the presentation was excellent. We have dined at Blend on Main before and are never disappointed in the quality of the food and service.
Blend is always a delight! Never disappoints! We are going back for Easter brunch!
We had a very delicious dinner. The food was wonderful, the service was exceptional and it was a lovely evening. I would recommend this restaurant highly.
Blend on Main was superb! My friends and I do Jersey Shore Restaurant Week once each Spring and Fall and try a restaurant we've never been to. Blend on Main had the best/most choices on their menu of the restaurants we considered. The service, food, atmosphere was outstanding! The hostess was very friendly and pointed out the early birds menu they'll be starting after Restaurant Week. We had already discussed returning for a special occasion, we are delighted that there is an early bird option with excellent choices. This restaurant should be on everyone's list of places to try. We can't wait to return!
Always a fabulous experience! Chef Lou does it right. We are frequent visitors and are never disappointed.
Delicious inventive food selections, fresh and nicely plated. A wide variety from which to choose. Attentive and friendly wait staff and hostess. Nice atmosphere just a tad noisy but itcwas prime time dinner hour on a Sunday. Will definitely return !
Outstanding meal and service. This was our first time at this restaurant, but not the last. It's now on our go to list!
This contemporary American restaurant in Manasquan never fails to deliver on a quality and tasty meal. Especially now during Jersey Shore restaurant week, it also supplies great value. In my 3 course meal, I had the pork belly, the short rib (which they do in superb fashion), and the chocolate cake. The salmon and season fruit were also quite tasty and flavorful. With superb plating and a attentive staff, as always Blend delivers.
We love Blend. However this was most likely are least favorite experience. Reservation made in advance; seated in the “breakfast room”. It was cold and drafty; disappointed that it was restaurant week and there was a set menu. Service not as sharp as it usually...we will be back and hope not to have a repeat experience of this visit.
Exceptional! The crab cake was to die for. Enjoyed the pre fix menu
Perfect as usual! Would recommend it to anyone. A plus
The food was delish. Would definitely go back
The sashimi tuna was spot on!
Entree was excellent!! The halibut was fantastic! Porkchop was awesome!!!
Mussel appetizer was very disappointing.
Bread would be better than pretzels.
Best meal we’ve ever had!!! Service was amazing, staff was professional and personable. I recommend the Delmonico Steak and Bananas Foster. Cannot wait to return. Perfect date night.
The food at blend on the main is really terrific, a little pricey but you get what you pay for. It’s a BYOB so bring your favorite wine or adult beverage. The desserts are decadent and well worth the calories. All in all it’s a really nice restaurant the dress is business casual and it’s easy to find on Main Street in Manasquan.
