Excellent service. Best scallops. Went for a date night. Enjoyed the crowd and wait staff. Bring your wallet but it is worth it!!
Excellent as always! This is a great place to take out of town guests. Blades never disappoints!
Great - as always! We will go back time and time again.
The prix fixe meal of salad cioppino and creme brûlée was perfect
The food was very good. The service was outstanding. Had an enjoyable Saturday evening. I wish it could have been a little bit quieter, but and overall very nice restaurant.
as always, Blades never fails to impress my most discriminating guests. from start to finish, Blades is consistently excellent. They have elevated it to one of New Mexico's premier dining experiences. my friends listed as their "new favorite restaurant" . Keep up the great work!
Great food and drinks. Wait staff was not sufficient for volume of people being served.
The rural setting is an ideal location for this venue. We enjoyed the intimate, casual feel of the restaurant. The food and service were excellent and we will be suggesting it to friends and family members.
Blades is our favorite restaurant in the entire area. Great food, wine and service!
The foods were great, the service was average. The Fruitti di Mare is the best we have eaten with a most flavorful sauce.
The special cocktail we ordered called Love Song was exquisitely delicious!
Wonderful food, taste sensation, good drinks, great ambiance, ability to observe chef, fresh food, local food products.
Beef Bourguinon and Short Ribs were succulent and Sean was very attentive to us -
To much noise. Very Noisey!#######################################—#####
The blackened tuna with mustard beurre blanc was great - 2nd time in two weeks I have had the tuna. My wife had the chicken dish and it was well prepared and a delight. We were a bit puzzled by the wine service - when the bill arrived they had added $4 to the price and when we asked about it the server said "..ya, I saw that..." but she didn't do anything about it. And then it took a while to get a corrected bill (thus for the reason for the 3 stars for service.
A wonderful place for a special occasion. The food is wonderful, well prepared and presented nicely. The salads and soups are worth trying and by all means save room for dessert.
My first time to Blades Bistro, and will definitely will return. The service was excellent and patient with us since it took a little bit to order. The food was tasty and the menu was definitely special with the variety of food.
This was our first visit to this restaurant and we enjoyed a very good Sunday Brunch. The
menu options offered an excellent selection of items that were very good.
This is one of our favorites. We hadn't been in a few months and it was just as good as ever. We like to sit at the bar and the bartender was helpful and nice. We started with a cocktail, and they make very good ones. Then we had some wine, great selection. We always have a hard time deciding what to eat because it all sounds and is so good. If you like mussels and they are in season, definitely get them. If someone in your party has hearing issues request one of the tables for four in the back of the restaurant. They are enclosed on three sides and help with the noise, which isn't always too loud but if you get one or two tables with raucous folks it does tend to get loud. There is also a kitchen bar if you like to watch the action there.
The non meat entrees were sparse, and the wine pour equally sparse. I wondered if it even reached six ounces, and I doubt it. It was more like 4-5 ounces per serving. That said, it was a nice place. My partner liked the ribs, and I had a wedge salad with crab cakes from the appetizer menu. Slightly pricey meals, and the dining room is louder than we like. Tables along the bench seating area are really close to each other, so conversations aren't very private. We'll probably go back in the spring/summer and see if we like patio seating.
Had a great meal and a nice time. The service was great and the prices are reasonable.
Consistently great food, personable service - our go-to restaurant in ABQ.
Blades is always amazing, service is great. Their specials are always special! The seafood dish is wonderful, one of the BEST dishes on the menu! Their signature cocktails are excellent as is their notable wine list. we were there to celebrate a birthday & our server Jeffrey was very attentive. It's becoming one of !y favorite places to dine!
Cioppino was excellent.
We love Blade's Bistro and have introduced many of our friends since we were introduced by friends years ago. It is an intimate setting - definitely a casual neighborhood feel...and the food is an added bonus! Outdoor dining is lovely if the weather cooperates, but an "intimate" feel, nonetheless. From the north valley (Los Ranchos) it was less than a 20 minute drive (less than it takes to get to Montgomery and Juan Tabo in Albuquerque.
As usual, great food, great service and a relaxing , inviting atmosphere. When they have mussels on the menu they are perfectly prepared and delicious. My favorite appetizer!
Overall, a great visit and dining experience. I love the owners, who always take time to mingle with and accommodate their guests.
Thank you for being in Placitas!
The CHEERS of Placitas! We love to eat here and always look forward to visiting with the owners as well as the delicious food.
2 newer items on the Brunch menu were innovative and very tasty- Sandia Stack- the best with green chile, hash browns and poached eggs and the Copenhagen Benedict- salmon with Eggs Benedict. What a meal to end the year with!!
We had a lovely dinner and date night. The mussels as a appetizer were delicious, as were the burgers we had for our main course. We enjoyed casual ambience and will return in the future.
Consistently good food and service. Nice to get a little way from Albuquerque.
Blades' is a hidden gem...my Wife and I had brunch on Christmas Eve, and they did not disappoint. Service was outstanding, hollandaise sauce was perfect. We will be back!
Food as always was yummy and delectable, service by Jeffery impeccable and holiday Gluhwein very delicious! Feel like family when we’re there with Anja and Kevin!
We recently moved to New Mexico and although the southwest food here is wonderful we were delighted to find a nice French type bistro close to our home on Bernalillo. It is very similar to our favorite restaurant in Washington state. I had the mussels appetizer (fresh and delicious) and my husband had the brussel sprouts. We both had a seafood pasta dish, which is a specialty at Blades. It was creamy with lots of yummy shellfish. We didn’t leave a bit on our plate. We shared the chocolate sampler. Also wonderful and perfect for two. The wine list wasn’t extensive but had a nice variety. The service was good but our waitperson seemed a bit harried. Can’t wait to return!
Anja and Kevin are wonderful. Great food. Love every experience at Blade's!
We have been dining here since Anja and Kevin opened years ago. Their food quality and service have always been excellent. Worth the short drive to Placitas to enjoy a great meal and atmosphere.
This is the first time I have tried this establishment. I was very impressed with the cuisine and with this service. The establishment is very attractive and quiet and is a very fun and enjoyable place to dine.
Amazing as usual! The staff was outstanding! Perfect for casual dining or date night.
When we have special guests we love to go to Blades as we know food and beverages will be great and there won't be unnecessary distractions with service snafus and the like. It is also a good value. You can order a red and a white for the price of one bottle of wine and take home what you don't drink.
