Outstanding food and service! We really enjoyed our dining experience at Blackwall Hitch!
Fish was great
Soup not as good
Our group loves Blackwall Hitch. The eight of us get the round table that is perfect for carrying on conversations vs. a long table. The food is wonderful - love the pick 2 for lunch. Wine and beer selection is very good.
Not as good as one year ago. They remi ed items off the menu that made the restaurant unique . eveythingnis expensive but the quality of taste isn't as good . Some of the food flavor was bland; flavor on top and not in the middle. Too expensive for the poorly seasoned food.
We were very underwhelmed with the food compared to the cost of the meal. (I had a burger that was inedible because the bun was so greasy. Very late in the meal, the manager offered to remake it but it was so late into our dinner that I just took it home and remade it myself later. It was OK, though nothing to write home about. No offer to take it off our check although I clearly hadn't eaten any of it.) The service was fairly inattentive and we found ourselves waiting for things like water refills and napkins. I really wanted to like Blackwall Hitch and had been looking forward to trying it for years but was pretty disappointed. Maybe it was just an off night for them. It's a great space and has a nice vibe.
Great choice for lunch. Nice selection of choices on menu and great service. Free parking!
We went for brunch on Mother's Day. Our waiter was excellent and the food was good. It was crowded so a bit more noisy than normal but they did a great job of keeping everything moving and the food quality was great considering it was so busy.
We went for the Mother’s Day Brunch and it was a very nice experience. They had a two man Jazz band that was at the right noise level for the space. The food and service was great but the price was $40 per adult, which I felt was overpriced but not by much. The value would be at $30-$35 per adult. It was also $15 per kid, which is a good value for the types of food they serve. I enjoyed the oyster bar, smoked salmon and their waffles were delicious. I didn’t get to try their omelet bar, but I’m sure that was good too. Overall the experience was very pleasant.
Absolutely love the atmosphere nice live jazz band. All of staff was very welcoming and courteous. Food was delicious. I will be back very soon.
A GREAT brunch, good price, food was fresh and DELICIOUS, staff was friendly and helpful (regardless if they were assigned to your table)...DEFINITELY coming back...
Took mom here for mother's day brunch buffet. The food was fine (nothing extraordinary), but it definitely was not worth the $40/person that we were charged. With the mimosa mom ordered (not included) and the 18% gratuity that they add on automatically to the check no matter the size of the party, the total cost for this brunch buffet was $108. To be fair, they did tell us when we got there that it would be $40 a piece and that the gratuity was automatic, so we had the opportunity to leave before eating and being charged. But I thought it was possible that the meal might end up being worth it. It wasn't.
I took her to another very nice local restaurant for mother's day brunch a couple of years ago. The other restaurant had a better variety of food, included 1 mimosa per person, and had a water view, yet it still cost less. I just couldn't get a reservation at the other place this year, so I decided to try Blackwall Hitch. It was a mistake; we won't be back.
Pre-Mother's Day dinner was great. Brian and his front house staff were very professional and courteous. The place was packed but as soon as they could, they honored our reservation and prepared a table for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and our server was top notch, explained the menu, and made recommendations. It was an overall great experience.
We were seated at our reservation time. Server was very friendly and knowlegeable of the menu. Meal was outstanding.
Excellent dining experience! Crab stuffed fish was excellent and the chilled gazpacho and watermelon soup was divine! Only minor issue was that the side of the dining room we were seated in was VERY dark.
It was my ladyfriend Birthday. She said it was her best gift!
Everything was incredibly salty
We were seated in the rooftop outdoor dining area, which is lovely. There was a good crowd but not too noisy. Conversation was easy. The food was tasty, but one of our entrees, scallops, was a very small portion for an entree. The scallops were on a corn sauce, but there were no sides. No bread. We had to order fries as a separate side dish. And the fries were delivered to the wrong table (who accepted them) so we had to re-order them and they came when we were essentially done eating. We did eat them anyway and they were good.
Great experience in all categories. The only set back that day was the weather!
I frequent this location regularly, and every time I’m never disappointed. The customer service is always great as well as the food the ambience is always amazing
This was our first time here for dinner and I thought it was really overrated. The vegetable crab soup hardly had any crab meat in it. The food was really not as good as I thought it would be. The service was fine.
Great parking, excellent cocktails, fun environment and very good food.
Our server, Patrick, was amazing! Very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is lovely and the food is delicious.
Incredible! The food was amazing. Drinks were phenomenal. Atmosphere was beautiful!
They had trouble keeping the food on the buffet. Several times I went to get food, I had to make a 2nd trip to the buffet as they were out of several foods each trip. The prime rib was good but dry as they did not have au jus sauce for it. The ham was dry. The dessert bar was empty several times when I went. The choices for dessert was also limited as they had pudding cups, small danish and cheesecake cups. Definitely nothing to warrant a $40 brunch fee with a mandatory 18% tip.
AMAZING first time experience on a holiday no less!! Our party ended up being larger than our reservation but we were accommodated and immediately seated at a HUGE table. The setup was efficient enough to keep lines moving despite a large number of people in the restaurant. The food was DELICIOUS!! When the buffet had run out of french toast, I alerted a team member, who let me know that it would take a while for it to be complete. Instead of having to hover around the buffet, he brought a huge serving to my table! I cannot wait to go back!!
Thus far, for almost 7 years I think, I have had few issues to none here. The brunch buffet is a very good look, so to say.
Brunch was great.
Great spot for brunch, the food was great and the service was just as good.
My friend and I decided to go to BWH for Easter Brunch. We sat at the bar and gave up our table so a family could sit there. Great move because the bartenders kept us entertained and made perfect mimosas. The food was good and they kept it fresh. We met the chef for the new Baltimore restaurant, opening soon. I will travel to Baltimore to check out any menu specials he might offer.
It was a great Easter Brunch
The staff was excellent, very attentive and manager’s table chat was as well. Looking forward to experiencing brunch!
Had a early evening reservation. Arrived right on time to met by host who must have been having a bad day. Never smiled or thanked us for coming. But told us we would have to wait in a crowded entryway.
Once seated the waitress was pleasant. Food was good and oysters were delicious. All in all a good place. Prices are one $ higher than what you get but I guess they are charging for the location.
All in all, we’ll be back.
The service was good. The servers were prompt and attentive. The flaming crab dip was good but my stuffed rockfish was dry over cooked and under seasoned. My wife had the short rib. It was cooked well but also under seasoned. I must say I was underwhelmed with the food. Servers and staff were polite and prompt.
Great food, cool vibe!
Very nice experience. We will definitely return. Our server Randi was great and the food and atmosphere was delightful.
I went a few months ago for brunch and it was great. This time, not so much. The wait staff was friendly and prompt but the food was bland. The crab soup had no flavor whatsoever, the waffles were soggy, and everything else was just ok. The $2 mimosa had barely a splash of champagne and the line for omelets was so long and the poor girl cooking them was overwhelmed. It was her first day and had little to no training. Not sure I will go back. If not for the pleasant staff, I would have rated 2 stars.
We had Roberto and his trainee as our servers this evening. They were both amazing. Best customer service we have ever received at a restaurant and it was only the trainees 2nd night. On top of the service, the food was also great.
Our server was very good. However 25 minutes after we ordered the manager came to tell us they ran out of the special. When our food finally came out, it was not warm and looked as if it was sitting out. Very disappointing.
