Server was excellent and the chef was willing to modify an entree for me with no problem
It was my dad's birthday. Enjoy the brunch and ambiance!
I've dined @ the barn & lodge, and wanted to dine here, I weigh them the same. The crowd was just right especially with the restrictions due to the virus. The food selections, live band, and the host was on exceptional. Caution: @ the omelette station the cook used the same spatula for all pans, upon bring that to their attention, they graciously made the adjustment. Everyone dined sufficiently and had a great time.
We attended their ‘Sunday Jazz Brunch’. It was a wonderful time! Service was fantastic, the staff was very friendly & we enjoyed every moment. We had the opportunity to see ‘The Jazz Perps’ perform & they were a real treat! We will definitely be attending another brunch like it with them again in the future!
Excellent food and service. Great food choices - everyone, including the most picky and discerning diner will be satisfied. Atmosphere is hip, chic yet casual.
We were celebrating my good girlfriend’s birthday! She loves this place and it did not disappoint. Roberto and Jimmy went the extra mile to ensure an amazing dining experience! My BFF had the shrimp and scallops dish and I had the shrimp, andouille sausage and chicken creole pasta dish. Excellent!!
service was very slow- took 2 hours for our meal to come out- flatbread and salads. Drinks were very pricey andur martini glass was not filled- had to request more.
Didn’t get seated until well past time. Then they had to first made bread. Then the food contained undercooked raw vegetables and was vastly inconsistent across plates. Real bad. Don’t waste your time or Monday. Go somewhere worth your hard earned dollar. Just real bad. Never going back.
Great service, outstanding food, the ambiance was good, enjoyed live music at brunch today. Family friendly. Many rooms for small groups, active bar scene Friday night. Good value, great location, walkable to any part of historic Annapolis.
The food and service is outstanding. There is free parking at the restaurant in downtown Annapolis.
Awesome.. And the food was Great!
The food was delicious and the selection was very desirable. The service from our waiter was too be desired. It took over 10 minutes for a greeting after she passed the table several times, it was only after speaking to the manager did her customer service improve.
My family and I celebrated my dad’s birthday with Sunday brunch at Blackwall Hitch. It was a great dining experience. Our server was attentive and pleasant. The food was good. We enjoyed the live jazz performance. Overall, it was great experience and would dine there again.
If you're looking to attend their brunch on Sunday make sure you reserve yourself a section. The food is great and so is the service. I am from Annapolis and I love seafood. it is a great price for a buffet that serves a good amount of seafood. I have attended their brunch multiple times with friends and family.
We want to like the "Hitch"--they are our neighbors and were happy when they built here.
BUT---EVERY time we have been there the service has been terrible. Not just sort-of bad---but terrible.
I am not a service snob--so would not be writing this were is not for one out-standing instance of "customer abuse"----we were not seated until 45 minutes after our reserved time. AND this is exactly what happened the last time we went there as well----exactly 45 minutes. There are no extenuating circumstances. The manager (who tried to "make things better" with wine), said that Open Table had over-booked the restaurant. Funny---that is what they said the last time.
I guess we were gluttons for punishment--we won't be going back.
We did have some reservations because of the mixed reviews, however, we were extremely pleased with our experience. It was a very busy Saturday evening. That evening was the first night of Restaurant Week in Annapolis. We arrived a few minutes early for our 6:45 reservation. We waited maybe 30 minutes at the bar for our table to be ready.
Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and specials that evening. He was also very attentive despite how busy it was.
Our meals were served in an appropriate amount of tome. We never felt like we were waiting or that we were rushed.
Also, we enjoyed an exceptionally wonderful bottle of wine.
the whole experience was good.
portions were on the small side
Had a reservation, arrived early, waited, but not seated in restaurant and placed in the bar area. Service was great, ambience great, noise loud due to bar. Did not appreciate the reservation being pushed aside for bigger parties when made days in advance.
The meal was excellent. Our server was very nice and informative. I would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or romantic dinner.
My friend and I came with our 2 infants and the whole staff was very accommodating (storing our strollers, helping us fit the car seats in the spacious booth). Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! Hoping to get back soon for a date night with my husband.
We went for Sunday brunch. The food and drinks were good. Overall, great selection and everyone enjoyed themselves. My only concern is I specifically told the hostess that my dad would be arriving soon and would need help finding our table. She assured me that she would bring him to the table. Less than 5 minutes later he arrived and the girl at the hostess desk said I didn’t have a reservation but he could look around to find me. My father is 80 years old, if I’d known the hostess was not a woman of her word then we would have waited for dad to be seated as a group. It’s not a big deal but it determines if I return to this establishment.
One of my top 3 restaurants ever, I had a blast with my in laws being this was their first time enjoying the Sunday Brunch. The seating was great, I made reservations 2 weeks in advance. There was not a wait at all when I walked in to enjoy my day with family. Service has always been the best and the food is just amazing. The only negative thing we had to experience on our outing was there was a camera crew there shooting a commercial and it was very loud with them working around us trying to get the scenes correct.
But due to the overall experience I will do it every Sunday and enjoy more friends and family. Great place to go for a girls day out or birthday party as we did for my husband. Other words GREAT GREAT PLACE TO DINE. I love the staff
Our food was absolutely delicious and well presented. The server could not have been better informed or more pleasant. We were however seated next to a large party who increased the noise level at times where we could not hear each other. Someone from the party did apologize. I would certainly return.
Gorgeous venue, food was amazing and staff provided excellent customer service!
Awesome service. Waiter and management was very tentative.
The food was excellent and the service good. Brought in a table for 8, had room for 6 at the table even though the restaurant was very empty on this particular night. Was weird to be cramped when so much space available.
Still one of my go-tos for a nice dinner out.
The food is hit or miss, depending on the chef, perhaps. The cocktails are great, but a bit pricey. It is a nice experience. The staff has been great on several outings, and the management was attentive and great with our minor issues with our meal. We'll go back for cocktails and appetizers for sure.
Things have really changed at Blackwall Hitch. We were very disappointed you discontinued the bottomless mimosas . After getting past that shocker we went on to get some food. My partner and I have been to the brunch numerous times but not since summer. The food just wasn’t the same as previous visits. It was just mediocre. We felt the same way when we had Néw Years Eve dinner at the restaurant but had faith in the brunch. I will no longer recommend the brunch to my friends and relatives. The restaurant was once to me a special out of the ordinary venue in Annapolis but it feels more like Applebee’s. Very disappointed .
I would possibly recommend coming for lunch or dinner, but the brunch was a bit limited. The food was just okay, and what was up with the half donuts? I had an omelet, which was pretty good, however, you advertise lump crabmeat as one of the fillings. That was definitely not lump crabmeat, it also had a bit of a fishy taste to it. If I visit again, it won't be for the Sunday brunch.
Pricey, but the food was great and the selections were excellent
We were there for Valentines day so they were very busy. We dined on the fixed price Menu and were very satisfied and impressed with the quality of our meals.
Valentines Day weekend date, food was excellent and service was awesome!
Went for the valentine special upstairs. Room was heated and was good for most of the time until someone turned it down, when we mentioned it it was corrected immediately. Food was great. Dessert portions were a bit skimpy. Fantastic service and overall a great time.
We have eaten here multiple times. The food is always great. Never had any service issues. Highly recommend.
Great experience! It was the perfect place for Valentines Day!
Me and my fiancée came here today for Valentine’s Day for our first time ever to the restaurant and let me just say it was a phenomenal and fantastic experience. We have dined in a multitude of restaurants all over the DMV area and this by far has to be the most fantastic restaurant we have dined in so far. The service was phenomenal, we dined on the outdoor patio area which they had covered and provided a heater for since it is so chilly outside at the moment. They decorated the entire area in valentines themed decor, had a fantastic ambience and mood to the area, the music was fantastic. The food was beyond fantastic. Me and my fiancée got 2 completely different meal sets from the valentines menu and we were left in an awe. The taste, texture, smell, and design of the food was beyond fantastic. We had Cameron as our server and he did a beyond fantastic job as all the servers did, today was most likely a ridiculously busy day for them and they all held up very forward and happy despite the multitudes of people they had run through the place all day. We got to meet Sid(might have misspelled) and we were able to portray our happiness and overall feeling for the restaurant. Definitely a restaurant worth checking out, will be recommending all our family and friends and will definitely be back! Thank you all for an amazing night we won’t be forgetting! 😃😄
The service here was great. We can for Vday and they had us upstairs which was enclosed by and tent. It did get a I’ll take chilly but they would turn up the heat when it did. The food was great but the appetizers were a bit pricey for what you received in return. The food and service were both great and the area was set up very nicely for Valentine’s Day
My good friend and I decided to give this location a try after she raved about the Alexandria location. We decided to try the Valentines menu on Friday. The only highlight of the menu was the Dirty Hitch. The service was spotty. We noted that flow captains checked on every table on the floor but avoided us like the plague. After four courses of BS, we could wait to head over to DRY 85 and Red Red Wine. I was even shocked that they gave us roses at the end of the evening.
