None of the restaurant servers wore a mask. I was not comfortable with that.
The server was nice. The food was ok. It was not great.

This place never disappoints for brunch. I do wish they had unlimited mimosas. Most places that charge over $50 for unlimited brunch include them. But, the buffet is delicious and well worth the price point.

I thought it was supposed to be an upscale restaurant , but it was just ordarniay. The fish I ordered was cold an I don't believe it was fresh , possibly frozen. Just wasn't worth the money .

The waitress tried, but from the beginning it was a disaster! Her excuses just got worse each time she tried to apologize. Why were cocktails delivered one at a time? Why did the red wine that was supposed to be served with the meal, arrived just as we finished eating? We will never be back!

Thanksgiving dinner was okay…wish there was more green/veggie food options. It was a first for the family. Not sure I’ll return for specialty dinners. However, I love the brunch, dinner menu and cocktail options.

Food was horrible. Shrimp was soggy, chicken was dry, bacon was undercooked and eggs taste like it came from a package. Atmosphere and ambience was nice but it was too cramped. I definitely won't return for brunch again. Save your money and try something else, TRUST ME

Don't go for brunch on Sunday unless you like large quantities of lukewarm, mediocre food. They didn't let me know that brunch was the only option when I made a reservation. The only hot food was the omelette station and the chefs were NOT wearing masks, nor were many of the servers. The other food was fair and barely warm. The dessert consisted of fruit that was good, brownie bites, and pudding with tiny marshmallows covering half of it - nasty. The brunch costs $38 and an 18%gratuity is added so no incentive for the servers to pay attention to you and she didn't. They have peel and eat shrimp - who wants to get their hands dirty at brunch peeling shrimp?

The entire staff made me feel extremely special as the birthday girl, even the live performers gave me a wonderful happy birthday shout out. I’m so happy to be able to enjoy the brunch buffet at BW again, we will definitely be back soon!

Server was great! Def our favorite part.

The food was bland. Flavorless. "Garlic" shrimp was dry, lacked garlic, and needed butter. Salmon was overcooked, and needed lemon and salt to bring out flavor. Crab cake was ok and the remoulade was good. Mashed potatoes were good.

Food presentation was nice, but all the food was flavorless. Very sad.

My crispy Brussel sprouts weren’t very crispy but still tasty. There was a live band this particular night that was rather loud kind of hard to hold a conversation with friends. Overall good experience otherwise.

Reserved this restaurant for a anniversary celebration for a party of 4 we waited 25 minutes for a table. The restaurant was not very clean, service was okay along with the food. Management needs a lot of work. I wish we would have selected the Chart House next door, because the only time we celebrated was leaving. Worst open table experience EVER!!!

I think I had the wrong impression on this place. I knew it was popular, but based on the location and proximity to the Chart House, I thought it would be a good place to celebrate a wedding anniversary with my wife. It is not that kind of vibe. It is extremely loud. The upstairs Crows Nest area was blasting reggae music most of the night after hosting a private party. The tin roof paneling just makes the sound reverberate everywhere. The place was filled with large parties celebrating various occasions and they were festive, and of course, loud. We had to shout across the table to be heard and shout to our waitress. They were out of Guinness, which was a bummer. The French Onion soup was average, but my wife's crab salad and my Creole pasta were very good. The Manager came by to talk to us which was a nice touch. Our waitress was nice, but in a rehearsed kind of way in that I overheard her say the same things in the same way like a script to the other tables around us. Not bad really, but not very genuine which I prefer in a server. Overall, for a large group celebration, this place would be great, probably really nice outside in the Summer, but not for an intimate date night.

I have been to this location several times for their Sunday brunch, which is an outstanding value for the price. But on this particular occasion our server was horrible, we waited after being seated upon arrival for at least 15 to 20 minutes before a server came over for our drink orders, we placed our order, went to buffet, still no drinks, the server was busy and really didn't pay our table any attention, we asked about the drinks at least 2 more times, we were literally almost finished by the time the drinks came. In addition, asking for small items, utensils, salt/pepper. Overall the service sucked, the manager literally brought items to our table.

The food was excellent, omelet, waffles, chicken, grits, salad. shrimp, oysters, etc.

And the band was amazing.

First time eating @ Blackwell Hitch. We went there 4 Sunday brunch. A good variety of food n it all tasted great. Seafood station which included oysters n the fried chicken n Belgian waffles were my favorite. A bit pricey but worth the occasional visit. Service was great. Only issue I had was the long wait 2 b seated. We had reservations n didn’t expect the long delay in being seated.

Great food. Wasn’t busy but waitstaff was busy ‘elsewhere’. High noise level…would NOT call it energenic! Painful would be the better description! Too loud to carry on a discussion over a table.

I’ll mark that I would not recommend to a friend…not because of the food, which was very good, but because of the noise and inattention. Would probably be a ‘maybe’ recommendation!

My family attended this dinner reservation to celebrate my wife's 50th Birthday. I noted the special occasion to be acknowledged in my OT reservation request but it didn't happen. I had to remind our waitress who had no idea what I was talking about. More importantly and disappointing, my wife's steak was over cooked and had to be done over. Unfortunately she wasn't happy with the new steak either. Another son sent his food back as well. I enjoyed my meal, but it was not my special day. Not a good experience for us on this very special occassion!

We made a reservation at Blackwall Hitch (Alexandria waterfront) for our wedding anniversary. We'd eaten there before and had had a good experience. I was surprised when we walked in that next to the Host's station was a banner offering a 25% discount for something or the other, sort of like you'd see in an Applebees or Cracker Barrel. Wasn't really expecting the fast-casual, chain restaurant vibe. Dine outside or in? Nice night, outside. We were walked through half-full dining room to the patio which was at about 1/3 capacity. Inside and out there appeared to be numerous employees at work. We asked for a table that had one of the little gas fires burning as a center piece. We were told that most of those tables were "broken" but they could clear one that had just turned over if we would wait. Gladly, we said. The table was cleaned up, but no one came back to seat us. Eventually, the gentleman who seemed to be the host for the patio asked if we needed a table and we said that we were waiting on the one that had just been cleaned. OH! He said with some surprise, right this way. We then sat at the table with menus and plastic cups of ice water for another 20 min (by my watch, not an estimate) as we watched no fewer than a half-dozen staff roam the patio. When I got up and asked the nice gentleman if we could have the waiter visit our table, he said, again with surprise, "No one has taken your order?" Nope. A couple minutes a young waiter came back to take our drink order. After placing our order, he said "I am told we are completely out of vodka." Vodka? Okay, a glass of Prosecco. Comes back a few minutes later, "We're out of Prosecco." Once we finally got our drinks, we decided we weren't going to trust this establishment with delivering quality entrees that range from $30-40. We made a reservation at the Chart House next door. Paid for our drinks (incl a 20% tip, I assume it's not the waiter's fault that they were poorly provisioned/managed.)

Inside is too loud for a conversation between 3 people. The entree menu is limited and expensive for mediocre food. The waiter and manager were very attentive when we were first seated, but surprisingly, service dropped off as the restaurant emptied. Overall, we had mediocre, expensive food and spotty service in a noisy atmosphere, I don’t plan to return.
