The food was delicious. The veiw of the bay from everywhere in the restaurant is great. Special summertime bourbon cocktail A+ Our waitress was awesome gave just the right recommendations for our tastes. She was responsive and not at the table too much or too little. I even forgot my leftovers boxed and bagged on the table, when I came back to get them they were already gone. I was disappointed until I realized a member of the staff was chasing us down outside to bring them to me after we doubled back. Would definitely go there again and recommend to anyone. There menu has a great variety also.

I’ve been to this location multiple times and I have always enjoyed my time but this time I was very disappointed with the food I was served. First I noticed that the crab dip got a lot smaller but it still the same price and it doesn’t taste like it used to and also when my friends got they’re food it tasted very bland so overall we were very disappointed.

If I could give a zero star, I would give a zero star. Made a reservation for outside but when we arrived they told us it would 45 minutes before we sat outside. We opted to sit indoors so we wouldn’t have to wait. It took 45 minutes to get our alcoholic beverages, my family never received their soft drinks until we had to ask another 15 minutes later. Our app came out super quickly and was delicious! An hour and a half went by before we realized we still had not gotten our food. Once we asked our server he assured he would check the kitchen. 15 more minutes went by and our server finally came back to tell us our meal “wasn’t too far behind”. We finally spoke our frustrations at this point because it had been an hour and 45 minutes since we sat down. We asked to speak to a manager but no manager ever came to our table. Another 10-15 passed before our food finally came out. It was 9pm at this rate and we were not longer hungry. The manager had a very poor excuse “we weren’t expecting the rush sorry!”. Three tables around us had been sat, ordered, ate and left before we even saw a manager. We left without dinner. The absolute worse service experience I’ve had in many years.

We have been there 4 times in the last 6 months for date night and dinners with out of town relatives. Our dinner on 9/16 was by far the worst. Not sure if this waitress was new or what but very different experience from our last 2 visits. Had to reach out to one of the managers. Terrible service and our tip on a $92 bill reflected that. Two weeks ago I spent almost $300 for the meal I hosted for a visiting relative. The young man who was the sever was amazing. I don't think we will come back to Blackwall Hitch.

This place (I purposely use the word "place") is more like a music club than a restaurant. We were there on a Friday night (so maybe it's different other nights) and it was so loud that we could not carry on a conversation. They had music, which was good and the food was OK. My recommendation: if you are looking for a concert along with food it's a great place. Do not plan on going on a date or with friends and expect to talk. It was not my kind of a restaurant.

The food was good. I have been shopping around for good brunch places in the DMV. I thought it was a little pricey but had many food choices. I was put off by the fact that they charge a credit card service fee, after all they are making good money, my bill for 2 was almost $170.00 and they included a credit card service fee. I’m glad I had cash and did not have to pay the fee. Not sure if other restaurants are charging the fee as well but will pay attention to that now.

I ordered the Delta plate shrimp, salmon and crab cake. I asked to switch out the mashed potatoes for another side and was told maybe depending on what I wanted. Brussels sprouts were a no but grits was OK. All sides are same price on menu. Food was tasteless like it came from a cafeteria. The good part was our server was very attentive and brought me lemon to drizzle on my fish to try and perk it up. Seems like with a fish dinner it would come on the plate. We decided that we would not return.

Great server, good food, it was busy and we waited longer than is ideal for dessert (20 minutes!) but it was still a lovely experience. It’s our 4th time and our six year old already asked when we can come back. Dining out with an energetic young boy isn’t easy and I’m super grateful for our wonderful server and the kid-friendly environment.

Food was really delicious and generous portions. We all got seafood and really thought it was tasty. Prices are reasonable especially for such a nice location. Only issue for me is it’s just pretty noisy. Inside design has no sound dampening and even outside the music is playing too loud. Some people like that though I guess.

It was really warm in the restaurant - it seems the AC wasn’t working and it was a 90 degree day. The staff were friendly and prompt. My food tasted like it was seasoned with water -it was so bland - and Lukewarm at best.

Great location and views from this large restaurant. Service and attitude of staff was excellent and attentive. Appetizers were good, especially the wings and tuna. The chicken sandwich was ok, but not great. Would definitely go back to try other dishes.

It was restaurant week in Alexandria so we tried Blackwall Hitch. We ordered corn crawdad fitters (i.e. hush puppies). They were dry and pretty tasteless. And add the calories associated with a fried food item and you get a score of zero. Then the rockfish main course was bland and the rice bedding watery and boring. The only thing good was the chocolate tort for dessert. The positive was the young people serving were trying hard and working to learn their trade. If you can't bring your A-game to the restaurant week offerings then don't play. Stick to your regular menu offerings and make those items great. Sorry to say we won't be back.

The flaming crab do is always a must when I go. It was nearly empty, so although we had a reservation we sat at the bar and our server was amazing --extremely fun and personable!

The experience was subpar. I took my girlfriend here for a nice date night- first time here and reading previous reviews it seemed promising. Booked the reservation and arrived on time, was tended to and seated immediately. Saturday night was a birthday party celebration, loud music, everyone is running around, the night was on and popping. Our server was okay, she tended us to the best of her ability that night. My order was wrong though. I ordered the short rib sandwich mac and cheese and asparagus- i received a shrimp po boy, fries and asparagus. My girlfriends order was correct, simple pasta. The blueberry drink I ordered was really good. I’d give the restaurant another chance to redeem themselves. 5.5/10 experience.

Waited for about 15 minutes before the manager came over and asked if anyone came to the table. From that point on we had multiple people come to the table whenever they felt like it. Waited for everything. Food and drinks were nothing special. Thought the experience was going to be better. Now I know.

Difficult to hear inside. Manager comes over to check in-then apologizes for all the things and then walks away. Very strange. Server made several mistakes. We were able to laugh them off and did receive a small discount. No need to rush back.

The Waitress was doing to much.....between being a bar tender & waitress we NEVER saw her. I had to flag her down every-time for ANYTHING. If we didn't need anything I'm pretty sure we would have never saw the waiter AGAIN! The service is usually not like this! This was horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The air was not working properly. The hostesses should have informed the customer and allowed them to make the choice of staying or not. The management could have offered a complimentary beverage to each patron.

I had the pleasure of dining next to a window where I could look out and view the waterfront. It was an amazing view and because of this view I would definitely dine here again. My only gripe is that my bourbon was served in a dirty glass and the server was rushing us through our dinner experience by clearing off the table while we were still dining.

This was the first time I’ve been to Blackwall Hitch. It was relatively quiet because it was a Sunday evening. The entire experience exceeded my expectations. We made reservations and were sat pretty quickly. Our server was lovely and made wonderful recommendations. The filet mignon was perfection as well as the chocolate mousse cake. I cannot wait to go back!
