It was my birthday and I was excited about this spot. I had heard great things. Food was excellent and our waitress, Megan, was phenomenal. The young man working the omelette station was very personable and just overall outstanding. My concern were the hostesses. They were overwhelmed. The hostess went up to another party and gave my reservation to them. There were only two parties waiting and I was concerned that she could not remember names. The only reason I did not interrupt the hostess was because I did not feel like getting confrontational and there was a senior citizen with their party. When the hostess returned from seating the party, I said that was my reservation. She simply said oh and she would get us seated soon. Needless to say we waited another ten minutes. Once my mom and I sat down, we were unaware that we could only order brunch and a waitress had not greeted us. When my mom spoke to the manager, he informed us the hostess should have made us aware.
I will definitely try this spot again but please train your hostesses a little better.
First time here food was good Pam was great!
Made a reservation but still had to wait another 20 minutes to be seated. The hostess brought us to our table but it was not ready. We had to awkwardly wait in the room while the table was cleaned. Our glasses were dirty. I found a piece of hard plastic in my bacon. I did share this with the manager who shrugged it off as if that was normal and not a potential choking hazard had I not saw it. The reason given was that they wrap their pans with saran wrap when they cook the bacon and a piece must have fallen in. Saran wrap is thin and this was thick. I was given Mimosas that I didn't ask for at no charge which i guess was supposed to compensate for that but I did not ask for them and would have preferred to be offered some other type of accommodations for the experience.
I had reservations but it seemed to be very overbooked. I still had to wait for a table for 30 extra minutes. That was after I spoke with a manger. Great food. Awesome band and great service.
Chicken and Brie sandwich.
Lovely view ! Awesome Vibes ! Very comfortable and romantic 💖
Food was absolutely amazing, beautiful view, whole venue was stunning and the staff are knowledgeable and personable.
We had a great dinner and great waiter. The oysters were great and my husband raves about the short ribs.
The food was amazing. The service was outstanding. We had Omar who offered wonderful recommendations and provided great service. We had the catch of the day, the shrimp appetizer and the southwest salad and it was all amazing. Really enjoyed our lunch date! Would absolutely go again!
The whole experience was fantastic. The food was excellent.
Great place for dinner or a work lunch. Food is good, and has a wide variety of selections.
Love the atmosphere at this restaurant! Met a few girlfriends after work for dinner and drinks. They will not honor happy hour drinks if you are sitting out in the main dining room. You have to be in the loud bar area for HH. Great gluten free selections!
Our server was really good. Let us visit and take our time ordering. The food was really good but the kale needs to be washed really good, as the crunching indicates it's still a bit dirty. Salmon was delicious. My friends steak salad was also very good and the steak was cooked perfectly.
The hostess was unsure she could seat us and we should’ve abandoned ship then.
Our waitress/the bartender was lovely, but the food and other staff ranged from odd to terrible.
2/3 in our party were sick the rest of the evening, after eating less than 1/4 of their food.
3/3 would not recommend
(‘twas real bad y’all)
Very nice restaurant but pricey. $38 for an entree is kind of high and it was not even steak.
It is a very nice place, beautiful and so good 100% recomended
Took forever to get seated. Then a really long time to get food- table that arrived after us was served. And the chicken sandwich was not warm and very dry.
We have been regulars at Blackwell Hitch for years. The food is usually decent, fresh and the views of the waterfront are spectacular. But I have noticed a trend of understaffing which has lowered my ratings. We went for brunch today - two adults and a toddler. We had a reservation but waited for 10 minutes beyond the reservation time. Then we waited another 5 minutes, standing at the table only to find there were no high chairs available which weren’t broken. We ended up just trying to make it work and hoping for the best. Drinks took forever to arrive, and we had to ask for silverware and napkins which took another 5 minutes to arrive. The servers were so nice but were just overwhelmed. The food was decent but 3-5 items were out of stock each time I went up to get food from the buffet. I ended up grabbing what I could - pasta, grits, bacon, and some fruit. Chicken, pizza, biscuits and other items were all out. Then the deserts ran out. I didn’t want to keep waiting with all the other people who were standing there waiting for items to be re-stocked, so I grabbed what I could. Also the bathrooms were pretty dirty and there was toilet paper all over the floor. I let the hostess know but I don’t think she cared. It was a chaotic meal, not enjoyable for the price and I ate the strangest combination of foods! We will try again but definitely not for brunch.
Great Sunday brunch with my fiancé!
$14 each for a Bloody Mary that wasn’t good. Buffet was great.
Jason, our waiter, was very good and the food was delicious. Looking forward to my next visit.
The food and service was fabulous, I can’t wait until I return this weekend.
Best brunch ever.
Early reservation (10.15am) so not crowded. Food was excellent. Buffet was hot and seafood was fresh. Great drink specials. Love coming here.
The flavor of the food was excellent! I was a little disappointed because my food came out kind of cold. They waitress was very nice & reheated it for me (after stating that she can have the meal remade, but I didn’t want to wait lol). Other Than that everything was great! Live band, and great view! I will definitely go back!
I received notification that my dining reservation at Blackwall Hitch was ineligible for points AFTER we were already seated and finished dining. I should have been notified as soon as I made the reservation.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Will definitely go back.
You can never go wrong with Black Wall Hitch. I’ve been there several times and haven’t had any issues. The scene, service, and food are perfect during any season.
Live music was so loud that we had to leave before an order could be placed. Unfortunate for an otherwise good dinner spot.
Everything aside from the service was great. We got seated at a great table and the food was great. The service however, was terrible. I won’t get into the details of the service but I probably won’t go back.
Ordered the rock fish and it was over done. The other food was good but I was really disappointed in the rock fish.
Our server was amazing and she was super sweet
Service was bad, meal was rushed, wasn’t through with appetizers before the entree came out. Waiter didn’t explain specials and did not engage.
Beautiful scenery and clean restaurant. The food was wonderful, crabcakes were the best I’ve ever had. The service was outstanding.
Excellent brunch! We attended for a Birthday Brunch for the first time and will return soon!
Always a joy to come to Black Wall Hitch. Great vibes, great people, and great food. Brunch is always on point, always adding something new to the menu!
Great brunch variety! Nice jazz combo. Will be even better in the summer with outdoor seating
Overall great experience
Went for Sunday Brunch and arrived at the very start. All food in chafing pans was cold. Carving Station, Omelet Station and Waffle Station we’re not manned at the start. Food was okay but would have better hot. Service was slow. We would try elsewhere for brunch before returning here.
