Loved the bronzini whole fish and delicious variety of fresh oysters.
Wait staff and front staff was very nice. This was my third time there
with my wife and won't be my last!
We love blacks for Happy hour, we're locals. The service is normally fantastic and the cost of the meals don’t alarm u bc your treated like an upscale customer. We went for Valentine's Day and were unimpressed. They allowed young children after 7 pm; kids were running around, loud. There wasn’t a special for Valentine’s Day. Other local restaurants provide complimentary champagne or red rose. It felt like a regular mid-week night- nothing festive or special. I was surprised how many families they accommodated for an upscale romantic night, expensive menu night.
Wonderful food and service. I was astonished with how many options there were besides seafood. Wonderful date night.
We had received a gift card for the Black Market Group. We chose the Black's Bar and Kitchen because the menu included both meat and seafood. All of the dishes were superb and the service was both pleasant and efficient.
Great evening. Salads delicious. German chocolate cake over the top.
Food was good. I love oysters so that is a plus. Entrees varied a little. Rockfish was very good. Duck was so-so. Nice place. Parking near by which is helpful.

This place is now nothing more than "faded glory!" The food is sub-par, way over priced and the waiter (mine) was not interested in being at work. Avoid!
Went for open raw seafood bar on a Sunday morning. It wasn't too crowded. Service was excellent. The raw bar had much better quality than I expected for all-you-can-eat. The oysters, in particular, were surprisingly good considering we were able to help ourselves to plate after plate of them! Endless brunch cocktails were very good too and were a little more creative than the orange mimosas you'd expect.
The seafood buffet for Sunday Brunch is wonderful. The selections are fresh and the flavors good, with a nice variety. We always feel like we had a fun time without leaving feeling so distressed as with the usual Sunday Brunch fare. It would great to add a drink special or two to make it a more festive encounter (like bottomless Prosecco for a specific price, etc). We'll be back for sure.
The place has gone way down. We hadn't been for several years, and remembered it as a pretty special local spot for a quality night or. While the food was pretty good, it was spoiled by really sub par service. The waiter went thru the motions, was heavy on up selling but was consistent with an uninspired atmosphere and overall meh experience. Too bad.
The last couple of times I have been here I feel a bit of a decline in both the service and the food. I was surprised that there wasn't a bigger selection of appetizers that could be shared. I thought my rockfish was good, but the broth tasted strongly of beef and the vegetables in the broth were barely cooked. One my associates had scallops that were perfectly cooked but they were swimming in the liquid from the spinach that accompanied the dish. I was also surprised that there are very few moderately priced cabs.
As always the service and food was high quality. They catered to guests at our table who were more regular customers and recognized there had been changes to the way the duck was prepared--which they went ahead and prepared the previous way at her request.
My only complaint was that the restaurant was starting to look a little dated. It may be time for some new tables and chairs.
They appeared to be short staffed. My entree took more than 30 minutes. Caesar salad with blackened salmon. Waiter checked on status at the 20 minute mark and said it was being prepared. Manager brought out 10 minutes later. Clearly a mix up whether the waiter failed to enter the order or the kitchen mess up let’s be honest with the customer. Never appologies for the long wait. Take it on the chin and appologize. I would much rather hear this versus ignoring the issue. Something to think about next time this happens.
It had been a while since I had been to Black’s and I found it to be a great experience, like I remembered it before. The ribeye was great and the sides were great but the shrimp cocktail had too much Old Bay seasoning on it, I would take it back a bit and allow the flavor of the shrimp to come through more. Service was good and attentive. Overall I would go back. Thanks!
The food was not worth the money. So many other better places to eat for that price in Bethesda.
Seafood is great here, ambiance pretty nice. But it's quite pricey for what you get.

It was a small dinner after our court wedding. We had the worst lunch. Service is really good. We were disappointed with the meals we ordered. We ordered carne asada tacos that were too sour. Moreover, the special entree spaghetti with grilled shrimp kn spicy tomato sauce with parmesan was bad. Not only the shrimp was overcooked, but the char from the grilled shrimp was too bitter enough to make the sauce taste funny. It was frustrating for everyone.
Restaurant week menu was a little weak. Bread pudding was baaaaad. Fries were nicely hot and crisp. Service was good.
Food was awesome. Great place. Server was very attentive and friendly. Our meal was a bit rushed. I was looking forward to a leisurely dinner with my wife on Saturday night and they either over achieved on providing attentive service or rushed to turn the table over. But over all it’s a very good restaurant.
The food was excellent as usual. The roasted chicken with these delicious brussel sprouts was everything wonderful!
The opportunity for having just the seafood bar at Sunday Brunch is wonderful. We totally enjoyed it and it was all tasty and fresh. I hope it continues to be an option. We will certainly be back to do it again. The variety was great and just varied enough to compliment the oysters and clams on the half shell.
Pretty wonderful spot. My second business lunch there. Perfect for that. However, the design of the place is also great so I think it would be excellent for dinner as well. And the food is very good. Service very professional and friendly.
I found the food to tasty but pricey. The atmosphere was nice & so was the staff.
We have been going to Black's for their brunch for the past few years to celebrate the new year. We were a bit disappointed to see that they have eliminated their buffet brunch and replaced it with an a la carte brunch. For some reason, people around us seemed to be getting their food, finishing their meal and leaving before we even got our first course. I usually like the restaurants in the Blacks' chain, but I won't be going back for brunch anytime soon.
Loved this place for their Sunday brunch Buffett. We were so sad that they stopped the buffet 3 month ago. We wanted to just leave but we were hungry. Loved my avocado toast but loved the brunch Buffett more. Probably will never go back ( it's far for us).
Great place to get a meal with friends.
My friend arrived a few minutes before me and the hostess was very accommodating and sat her according to her preference. When I arrived, I was delighted to see her sitting comfortably at what we both agreed was the perfect seat. Our server was attentive and friendly. I especially appreciated how she wiped the wine ring (left from my glass) from the table as soon as she noticed it. The food was impressive and presented/arranged beautifully. Dinner was amazing. We left and went to a concert nearby and decided to return for dessert. Although it was only 30 minutes til close, the hostess received us with a smile and our next server was just as great as the first. Definitely enjoyed Blacks. I hope to return soon.
