Perfect! Easy to get a table online and celebrate a graduation. Comp candle cake dessert for the new grad.
Was our first time to dine at Blackhawk Grill and we were very pleased. Food was terrific and the service was great. Definitely will add this restaurant to our list of regular places to go eat dinner.
Food was good as always. Service was a little slow but there was a shift change or something so it didn’t bother us. Will dine again.
We order the brussel sprouts without the sauce as an appetizer and they were cooked to perfection. Salmon dinner was very good and nicely presented. The mac and cheese was a wonderful surprise with white cheese and a delicate flavor without being heavy. The hamburger was a standard great standby. The meatloaf was very good. We ended the dinner with the Butterscotch break pudding which was divine. Because it was a birthday celebration they also provided a complimentary dessert which was delicious. The service was excellent and our wait staff and hostess were very attentive. We brought our own champagne and our server was very quick to open it and provide a chiller. One of my favorite places to enjoy.
We had a party of 10 and the staff was very accommodating. Two of our guests are vegan and the chefs personally made special dishes and appetizers for my guests. The host was very helpful and checked on us several times. We always enjoy our experience at Blackhawk Grille.
Was a buffet style dinner which was not what I expected. And it was too late to book another restaurant. This should have been advertised and related to me when I called to confirm my reservation.
we went on the Saturday before Mothers Day, as we like to order off menu instead of buffet style as was the setup for Mothers Day. Our server Nicole and her helpers, especially Beto was A-1. The time to get the ordered glass of wine, took a bit of time, I asked Nicole C. why i seemed awhile, and she said it was a change in the way they were allowed to access the wine and it actually did slow down the service the new way. I preferred the old way where sipping wine while visiting and waiting for meal was a more cozy feel. The food was presented beautifully and it was tasty. I had the chicken picatta, and my husband had the steak and it was all good.
We were there celebrating mother’s day with our whole family! Great food, service and ambiance!
We sat outside, a bit windy but so beautiful and the sun kept us warm. The food was delicious, prepared perfectly, and served within no time at all. AJ was a sweetheart!! Thank you for taking care of us while we celebrated our 26th Anniversary!
Service was not great. Server did not know the menu, and didn’t try to get the answers to our questions. And the outside patio area is beautiful, but there were a ton of gnats buzzing around!!
We haven’t had the best experiences the last few visits.
The food was so-so... perhaps we didn't order well? Service was excellent. Ambience was great.
Service was very slow but not that crowded.late seating us. Food just fair
The food was at best tasteless. The trout was bland and had no imagination. The pork chops had to be sent back because they were served rare. Had to ask for some bread and olive oil. The bread was stale. Even the plastic menu was something you would find in a cheap restaurant. And no specials for the night. Big disappointment
Enjoyed ourselves very much , great. Burgers ! Meatloaf was superb!
There were only 3 servers for the entire restaurant. Inside and outside Took so long for the server to come back to the table we skipped dessert
Restaurants was unclean. Extremely loud and not a pleasant experience
Sadly, what used to be one of our favorite restaurants has really gone downhill. This is the second time in less than a month that my husband has had to go in search of a server for such basic things, such as salt and pepper. The restaurant is badly in need of remodeling. The booth we were seated in a few weeks ago had holes in it and no attempt had been made to repair it.
I had a burger with a side Caesar salad and it was perfect. My husband had Brussel sprouts and they were slightly under cooked with no trace of seasoning.
It was not busy while we were there, so there was no excuse for the poor service. There were plenty of staff around. Maybe it was just our server who was invisible.
My husband refuses to go back again.
We had the WORST service we have ever had!
Really disappointed with Dinner. Service was horrible. Seems like a recurring theme from recent previous posts which I did not see. Not sure how it only shows one 1 Star rating, when I see more than 5. How does this place still have almost a 4 star rating? Got seated at a table where both lights were out so to even see the menu we had to use the flash light on our phones. I don't even think they knew the lights were out above us. Perhaps that's why no one greeted us at the table until about 25 to 30 mins of being seated. Maybe they couldn't see us because it was so dark? LOL, not really. After waiting and watching another family at a table beside us get seated after us, get drinks, eat dinner, have dessert and then leave (45 min) , I just about had it and asked where our dinner was. It was lost somehow. Not for the table next to us though. It appeared they were not properly staffed for 2 parties one of which consumed my server's time and attention. The other server didn't seem to have that same problem and managed just fine. 2 3/4 hrs for a simple appetizer and dinner for 4 was really painful. It was my Birthday celebration dinner to boot and they didn't even see it on the reservation. Too focused on the 2 large tables. Manager did stop by to apologize and took care of us and comped my dinner and offered dessert which was very nice for the Salmon that I finally got. It was just bland with no flavor. We will NOT return after reading the most recent reviews where customers had the same experience so it was just our night. It's every night. Last 2 times have been very unpleasant. Such a shame. It used to be a great place to dine and get great food and service.
What was supposed to be a wonderful family get together turned out to be a sad and miserable occasion . The service was abysmal , we waited forever for our server to attend to us . Our main course eventually arrived but the sides got to table when the entree was done . We had to ask the server five times where the sides were . The restaurant was busy and i don’t think there were enough servers or cooks to get through the dinner . We will not go back again .
Well I never. We came back after our last visit and it was night and day! The service was fabulous, the food was hot and we walked out of BHG with big smiles and a world of hope!
The fish & chips were out of this world good and the Meyer lemon chicken was super tasty!
As our local go to, it’s been hard to not come here - so glad we can come back and look forward to it.
Food quality seems to have recovered from a few months ago when the chef changed. That being said I ordered a pretzel burger and the bun was most definitely not a pretzel bun, which I've had there many times before. When I asked they said it was....hmm ok.
Service is hit and miss and greatly depends on the server. Nicole for example is very attentive and great. I asked for her tonight and they said her tables were full but she's in the section next to mine "so I could say hi". Her section only had 1 table the whole time we were in there, so not sure why the host station wasn't accommodating to my request.
Unfortunately as a result service tonight was poor. We didn't see our waiter between ordering and main course being dropped. We ordered bread and never got it, we were out of wine but had to wait a good while to order more. Sadly this seems to be more the norm these days, unless you get one of the exceptional waiters.
Desserts were great, an improvement on recent times. They seem to have figured it out again.
Always conduct business lunch and or business happy hour and never disappointed.
We waited 10 minutes before the waiter recognized us. There was a table next to us with a screaming child. 4 tables left and management did nothing. My aunt asked if they could control the screaming child and that we could not have a conversation due to the disturbance. The offending mother confronted our table and we went to get the manager. Management sided with the offending table and tried to admonish my group that we did not handle the situation well. Their management is a joke, obviously incompetent to deal with simple every day issues that most restaurants has policy to deal with screaming children. They failed to address the issue and then did poorly once it got out of hand.
Scallops were wonderful. We also go for the hamburger it is remarkable
I went for a birthday, the food was good but the service was a little bit slow. However, the restaurant was very busy so that is understandable
burgers are dry. menu read pretzel bun, but it came on regular buns. pickles were stale on the side of the burgers. so disappointing.
Food and service value has really dropped off since they first started yrs ago. They charge an outrageous price for wine and a corkage fee only acceptable for more upscale dining places such as Bridges and Esin's. We went on a Wed. night and the place was almost empty. That says a lot about how they have lost interest from the neighborhood residents. Don't plan to return since so many other fine dining places in Danville.
Horrible experience. Won’t be returning.
The best in Blackhawk. Frequently there. Lovely view. Nicole was our server and she is the best. The Assistant Manager came over and made sure everything was taken care of. Sorry I don't remember her name but she has frequently checked up on us. Thank you. Silver Oak was great
Server was more interested in flirting with coworkers than in being attentive to his customers
The fish and chips serving was generous and delicious. The service was prompt and thoughtful.
If you want McDonalds quality food for a Black Angus price then this is the place for you. Highly disappointing overall. Would not recommend this to anyone. Please be aware that I would not usually write a bad review however this was a pretty astoundingly bad experience. The one positive I will give is location.
Excellent! Great for families with little ones
I can't believe they ran out of meat loaf - one of the most popular dishes on the menu and it was only 8 p.m.
Our meals were good. We had the calamari for an appetizer, and then my wife had the scallops and I had the pork. Service wasn't very good. It took almost 20 minutes for us to get our drinks, and then another 10 - 15 minutes after than until our appetizer came out. Sure enough, about 30 seconds after the appetizer was delivered the server brought our main courses. This isn't the first time this has happened there. My overall feedback on this restaurant is that their food is consistently good, but there service is often fair at best.
After 40 minutes I had to get the Manager because the waiter Hadn’t shown his face. After that the dining experience was wonderful the manager did a great job in making up for the staff’s mistakes.
