Blackhawk Grille Ratings and Reviews
second attempt! I was unable to redeem the $10.00 certificate that Open Table sent me. The waiter explained that there must also be some kind of code or the restaurant would not accept it. I had no idea what he was talking about and I certainly would not be able to activate it on the spot
I do feel that Open Table needs to have this feed back so that this uncomfortable situation doesn't ruin anyone else's birthday dinner.
Thank you for the venting space. Mrs Selma Forkash
The atmosphere was nice and pleasant. The busser came by and offered us water and, unfortunately, he was the service highlight of the night. The server checked in fairly promptly but her follow ups were infrequent and not timed with our food. The expediters were consistently bringing food to the wrong table; dessert was delivered to us shortly after our first round of drinks and before our apps were ordered and our main course was brought to the wrong table. The pork chop was delivered rare, cool and uncooked in the middle, and the rest of our food seemed to lack flavor - pork belly was bland, steak was smokey but with no other flavors and the broccolini was on the tender side of crisp but again with no flavor.
We have been coming to Blackhawk Grill for several years. The staff has always been pleasant and professional. The food has been very good, although this time my meal was not hot particularly my potatoes, they were cold. However my Crab cake Benedict while not hot was very tasty. We will be back even though we have to travel quite a distance to get to the restaurant.
Setting was lovely - got there early , before the late evening rush . As it got busier the noise level steadily increased , making it hard to have a conversion with my dinner mate .
Our sangrias were watered down -the calamari appetizer was over cooked making it far too chewy . Our main courses were pretty basic - the risotto was the best part of either of the menu items we chose. But for $100 we felt like we spent too much for what we received .
Usually love this place. However, this time food was mediocre. A few of our dinners came cold but I didn't want to say anything because we were celebrating my mother in laws Birthday and didn't want to make a big deal. Waiter was very nice - but not sure if we will be coming back again
Valentine's Day was terrible service maybe expect that but disappointing. The filet was overloaded with smoke flavor. Ruined a good piece of meet. Was very disappointed. Salad came with entrees never received our sides. Overall I am done with dinner here will come by for cocktails maybe bit probably not
Service was good, food suffered. Pork belly was dry as was the chicken breast. Both lacked seasoning. Charcuterie lacked variety in both the cheese and the meat. Gin martini was appropriately bruised. Wish I could tip selectively. The waitstaff would have gotten the kitchen's share.
We’ve been here many times for Father’s Day and Mother’s Day brunches and good and service is always on point. We decided to come and celebrate my parents wedding anniversary as well as my sister’s birthday expecting the same. We were one of the first ones there that morning-i know because I overheard the hostess call back to the other staff and ask “are we open?” Which I thought weird since I had made reservations for 10:45 and it wasn’t the first slot open. We were seated and, though our waitress was nice, she disappeared a few times and my husband had to track someone down to refill our drinks. The food took almost an hour to arrive and when it did, it was lukewarm at best for most of us. Too bad since the steak and eggs did have great flavor, just wish it was served hot. I am glad though that we put my son’s order in early so his came first and, purposefully or not, I was glad his pizza wasn’t too hot and ready to eat when it arrived. I’m really not sure why the staff had so much trouble with regular service when they do such a great job during special brunch events. Very disappointing.
Waited 90 mins before we finally got our entrees - well we got 2 and a half of them - all cold. My daughter was so hungry she ate hers anyway bc she was too scared to send it back - not knowing when she would get a replacement meal.
Our server did his best - apart from not giving us any information about our food until the end.
We asked to see the managers on multiple occasions and Andre and Megan refused to see us - refused!!!
Wow, business must be really good when you can disregard local customers in this way.
Next time I mention Blackhawk grille as a potential dinner spot - I’ve given my family permission to punch me in the face.
It took over an hour to get our food after we ordered. We didn’t ask however they did discount our bill. We also ordered a take out when we placed our dinner order and we had to wait 45 minutes after we finished our late dinner before we received the take out order. They said they were having problems with their system. I will never go back.
We had a very nice dinner at Blackhawk Grille. Out server was Nick and he was training a young man named Derrick, I believe. They were both very attentive and gave us excellent service. The food was delicious, I had the Waygu steak with battered french fries , it was delicious. My husband had the scallops and enjoyed them very much! We also enjoyed a glass of wine. It was a very nice, relaxing dinner.
The food was fine, but not spectacular. It is pretty average for "fine dining". The biggest issue was the kitchen. Our food took WAY too long to get out to us. A glance back at the open kitchen showed several servers waiting to get food for their tables. By the time our food was brought to us, my food was lukewarm while my partners was normal temperature. This is an expediting failure. It is a lovely place, however. I think we may go again, but not anytime soon and not unless we're seeing a movie nearby. I would go to the Mexican food place again before I went here again.
