It took us 2 1/2 hours with a reservation at 7:15 p.m. We didn’t depart until until 9:45 p.m. Unacceptable. Your staff must be faster. We enjoyed the food, but the service was horrific. I hope it improves, we’d like to try it again, but there needs to be improvement that we are aware of that management sounds an alarm on.
Went for brunch with my friend. I had the Spanish Choriso hash- so yummy. My friend had the Chilaquiles. When it came out she thought it looked like there was too much liquid, but it soaked up and was amazing. We both had bloody Mary’s which were fine, but not noteworthy. We had a table by the window and it was fun to people watch. Recommend.
We were there for a Saturday brunch at 10:30 . It was not crowded and yet the service was slow and unresponsive. It took a full 15 minutes to get 4 Bloody Marys from the bar. We had to repeat multiple requests for things like salt and pepper, and more coffee.
We made a reservation for Thanksgiving , about 2 weeks before . Everything was booked. Only time 1:45. Which was ok only 5 of us, including my 90 yr old Mom
We sat in a dark corner, asked if we could be closer to a window as my mom doesn’t see well in the dark. Not available. The place was not full at that time . Asked if the turkey plate could be both dark and white meat. No. But when plates came both were on plates. Sides, Brussels, Swiss chard, mushrooms were not good , very salty.
I could go on. Had to get up after about 20 minutes to ask where the dessert s were.
Not good, will be sure to book elsewhere, and much earlier in future. Will not go there again
Food was well presented as well as flavorful. Some food porducts seemed to be of lower quality than I expected, but was good overall.

Chicken Pomodoro was orange and gooey. Looked and tasted like day old Chef Boyardee. Pork chop was over cooked, like eating cotton. Bread was dry and stale. Dishes were served to the wrong people, meals not all served together. Not the quality place it used to be.
Our waiter was great. The food was great. Our food did not all come at the same time. We were half way through part of our entree when the sides came..... a little disappointing. Our waiter, Brennan, was so attentive and accommodating..... but he could not fix the timing of the food.
I would recommend Blackhawk Grille to a friend.... with reservations.
Third or fourth time recently that I had to send back the under cooked food. Pork chops twice and burger twice. Service was excellent with respect to the server who kept apologizing, but I doubt I will be backed.
It used to be a Friday night wind down but I guess I will have to find someplace else.
Awful. Unfortunately we were placed in a back room. People arrived after us, and finished before us. Took almost three hours to complete our dining. Thank goodness we weren't in a rush! Food was average for it's price. Service was awful. I understand that the restaurant is busy, and your kitchen may be overwhelmed, but at least communicate instead of leaving us for thirty minutes or more after taking our desert order.
Blackhawk Grill has definitely gone downhill it used to be our favorite place. All of our food was cold the meatball appetizers were bad the burger over cooked sent it back and the new one wasn't much better. They were definitely short staffed. Andre the manager was very open to our comments. He just became manager in August so he has his hands full trying to improve the Grill. Good luck Andre I hope 🤞 you can make it better.
Sadly, they did not, and may not again, have the BBQ jerk spice chips when you sit down. I did have the salmon and it was fantastic. My companion had the smoked chicken and meyer lemon risotto which was also great. We shared two desserts. They were good but served way too hot to eat. The iced tea is pale and little more than colored water.
We had dinner at the Blackhawk Grill last Saturday. We've eaten there before. The ambiance is very good, hip and cool. Love the bar area. We've also been there for happy hour. The food choices and prices are good. That's the good.
We decided to sit at the bar and order drinks and food. They have several nice TV's to watch games. Not sure if the bartender had an off day, but his service was well below what you'd expect at a really nice restaurant. Didn't pay much attention to us at all. We ordered food, and the mashed potatoes arrived cold. The bartender never checked in with us when the food was delivered, and I finally had to flag down another server to get the potatoes warmed. Took about 8-10 minutes. By then, my wife had lost her appetite. I spoke to the manager on the way out.
He was apologetic, empathetic, and professional. We spent most of the car ride home talking about how it wasn't a good experience. That's never good when you go out to eat. The evening wasn't a disaster by any means, and we will probably go back. If they can coordinate service better and make sure the food arrives properly, they could do well. If not, you just can't charge the prices they do and expect crowds. Too many choices.
The appetizers came after the soup, and like 30 min apart. The salad ordered was sent back. All 3 steaks were not cooked as ordered. My filet was charred on the outside with “fake” grill flavor, which took away from the actual flavor of the meat.
Our waitress for the most part was great. We came here with the intention of enjoying a nice long 4 course meal with some expansive wine, and it was not as expected. Slightly disappointed, but nothing significant. I don’t think we will make the trek there again.
We looked it up on Google, and the menu looked yummy. We were celebrating a birthday and wanted something a little nicer. upon arrival, it was exactly what we were looking for. We sat outside and the setting in really relaxing, lots to look at, and our drinks were really good.
It kind of went downhill from there.
Our server told my friend that her dish didn't come with a side, so she ordered the fruit extra... which was weird because she ordered that particular item after seeing it on the next table, and it had salad as a side?
So, then for the next 45 or so minutes all the people sat after us got their food and we got more and more frustrated. Our server was missing so we asked another server if she could check on our food.
And, yes there were greens on her plate....just greens, no dressing. My other friends meal had a salad side and there were tomato, cucumber and wow, dressing.
I want my money back for that fruit side, aka bowl of melon...hate that!
My french toast came without butter and syrup...and everything was cold.
The girl we asked to go find our food spent the next 5 minutes getting all the things that we needed while our server was still missing. Thank You for your help..
In the end, if we had a different server, and got our food when it was ready, it would have been the perfect experience.
Because of this, I might recommend and might maybe not sure go back.
Wine list, which used to be a great feature, has been cut down significantly and my favorite wines have gone (many of the wines are mass-market brands that you could pick up in Safeway). Food is great but seems like it has taken a step backwards in recent months from what it used to be.
Made a reservation on open table but upon arrival was told it was happy hour and open bar seating. The hostesses were very nice and let us know if we had trouble finding a table they could help us out. Certain Beer wine and mixed drinks were on "happy hour" but really liked the bar area's seating and of course the game was on. Our server's name was Nikki I believe and she was great! She made sure we were always set with our drinks and food. Definitely a place we will be adding to our date night rotation.
Had a great anniversary dinner, our waiter was very informative and attentive. The crab cakes were delicious and the white cheddar cheese mashed potatoes were tasty. Only complaint is the place is a little difficult to hear in, but the food and service was top notch.
As usual we had a great meal at the Grille ... we are regulars for a good reason . Always a great and innovative menu with recent upgrades , service top notch and all staff is super friendly . The trout I ordered was super fresh ; so much so that the huge portion that I took home , was just as delicious the next day .
