Service was slow!! Waitress working our table was also sitting up private room party!! We had several flies on our window area which I mentioned when I left. Corkage fee of $25 is a little much for this grill and area restaurants!! $15 or $20 would be more in line!! Especially since I filled our glasses during dinner with the exception of the first glass.
Great location. Love the staff. Food needs to have more variety. We go there often. Compliments to Crystal, Janetzee, Lauren and SALVICA
Margherita drink was terrible, asked for heavy salt and still he only did half the rim. Service was terrible, kept having to flag our server down for salt/pepper and another drink. Bread was the worse, no taste, flat. Sea scallops were ok but polenta was completely tasteless
First I want to say we used to love Blackhawk Grille and still may again but they need some serious improvements. They are trying to build the reputation back up but this recent experience won’t help them in my opinion. July 3rd we dined there for dinner. Wait staff were awesome! Appetizer (Calamari) and one dinner (grilled salmon) was very good. My meal (rack of lamb) came out so over cooked it was gray. The second one was seared nicely but cold/raw in the middle. This took 1.5 hours so I ordered a flatbread as I was hungry. It was burned on the bottom and lukewarm (cheese not even melted) on top. Meal was comped after the Executive Chef was no where to be found. Staff was even surprised he had left in the middle of dinner service. Kitchen staff were struggling with getting food out. As a curtesy before posting this I emailed the manager and general manager, zero response. I don’t recommend BHG anymore as it seems even Management could care less about responding to constructive feedback.
JFM3, I am truly sorry that we let you down with your most recent experience. I really appreciate the feedback. I apologize in any delay in response. Your experience is very important to us. I would like to thank you for giving us another chance and hope you will give us the opportunity to make this right. I would love if you could contact me directly at 510-314-3507. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you. Ulises Rodriguez-Executive Chef
The only restaurant that has survived since the beginning of the shopping center. Great outdoor seating by the pond. The menu needs a refresh. Good Bar. Our server Salvica was exceptional.
Quiet dinner seated at the window to watch the ducks swimming around in the pond. Food was good and service was very good.
Wonderful birthday dinner, everyone enjoyed themselves. The service was excellent. Food very good. Sat outside, very enjoyable.
Lunch with friends and great sitting outside. Beautiful Day
Great food! Love the menu something for everyone in our group of picky eaters ages 13-92! Best birthday dessert ever!!
We went for dinner on Father’s Day and found out it was a Buffett . At first we were disappointed, turned out to be the best buffet we’ve had. Fresh peeled shrimp, prime rib was excellent and sliced potatoes.
I have been to the grille many times. I think the food selection on the buffet, the only choice on Fathers Day, was the most disappointing . The quality was low. The tri tip was very chewy. The chicken was dry. The veggies were over roasted. The desserts did not have enough variety and what was there was not high quality. The carrot, spice cake was dry. The salad choice was lettuce, croutons and tomatoes? They had a few potatoes. For the price this was not worth it. I would not go if it was buffet only. Our table of 5 paid $280. Very disappointing. Dad was not pleased.
Father’s Day Brunch.
Have eaten here many times (for Lunch), always good food, very good service, nice ambiance, view, good value for the $$$.
Our server was the absolute worst. Without going into great detail the bus boy brought us free dessert because he felt so sorry for us. Not sure what is going on there but it must be poor training.
recent changes are not an improvement - the refusal to offer the signature potato chips before dinner service is a deal breaker for this place. those chips were easily the best item offered here.
Excellent food and fantastic service!
We had a party of eight friends and we all had a great meal. Both of our servers were very professional.
Food was great. Beautiful day to eat outside on the patio
We celebrated 50th birthday for our friend. Waitress Tara was very friendly and thoughtful.
Always great food and fabulous service… My scallops and fish and chips were delicious!
I took My Office for lunch at the grill because we have always enjoyed the lunch there and it’s such a nice place to eat outside and relax. The food was a little disappointing and the orders got mixed up a bit. The service was a little slow as the restaurant was not busy at all.
We love this place all the staff is so friendly and they always come over to us and say hello . Scott the manager and Vanessa are wonderful . We really enjoy coming to Blackhawk grill every week And special occasions they do are great . brunch for holidays we always come here with our family great menu.
Totally recommend this restaurant!
Service at table was terrible, no follow up, never filled my coffee, had to ask for the bread that was supposed to come with the meal, asked for kids burger to be plain with just meat and cheese but came with mustard. Had to ask for hot sauce....bread finally brought with no butter or jam.
Ridiculous the poor service!!
Friendly server with excellent grilled shrimp entrée. Blackhawk Grille is kind of our favorite places. Outside tables near the pond provide a nice atmosphere near sunset. The pond comes complete with a few ducks.
Service and food were great. The only disappoint was the calamari which was such a small portion. It was $12 for less than 12 pieces. Should have been 2-3 times the portion size esp when compared to the brussels sprout appetizer.
The food was fabulous, the service outstanding..who could ask for more??
My daughter and I very much enjoyed ourselves! The flat bread was tasty and we very much enjoyed the clam chowder!
I am very disappointed with the Blackhawk Grille. We were celebrating my son, daughter and mother-in-laws birthdays since they are all in May. Our reservation was at 5:30pm and there were few customers during this time. The waiter throughout the night acted disinterested and as if it was such an inconvenience for him to serve us. It took forever to get any refills on drinks, our food came out at all different times and my son, whose birthday we were celebrating...it was his actual birthday, only wanted a hamburger. We had to ask the waiter three times where his food was because most everyone else was done eating and he just sat there upset without dinner. The waiter each time gave a face of inconvenience and annoyance. At 7:04 my son's hamburger arrived which at that time I had to ask for the dessert so we could sing happy birthday to everyone before my son and I went to see a movie that was starting at 7:15pm. After about 10 minutes, the dessert, which was just a scoop of ice cream over a cookie, was brought out. During this time, my son ate his hamburger as fast as he could, we sang happy birthday and then he and I had to rush out to make the movie which already started by this point. Needless to say it was not a good experience and to top it off, the food is overpriced for what it is and not that great. Some of the items I tasted was the clam chowder (super salty and didn't taste like clam chowder at all), the brussel sprouts, which were really over cooked, barely tasting like anything but the sauce they put on it, and the filet, which was cooked well, but their entrees, at least the one's we got, didn't come with a side except vegetables...they are missing the mark on that one. My son and I did not get to try the dessert because we had to rush out of there. Over all, I am super disappointed with this restaurant and would not recommend it. They really need to get better employees who act as if they give a damn about their job and their customers. so unimpressed.
This was a Sunday Brunch for a grad celebration. The staff were very good and attentive. The unfortunate part was that the breakfast dishes were not hot when served and the omelets were dry. I have been to this restaurant 40 or more times and this was the only disappointment. I will not change my decision to eat at the the Grille. It is still a quality restaurant over the 25 years I have been attending.
This was the perfect place for a wonderful family night celebrating my husband’s birthday. Food was superb and so was service. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Everything was great. Kitchen was a little slow
Nice place to take friends. Food is good, service was great.
Nice dinner out. Service from Nicole was perfect and the food so tasty. I had my favorite which was the fish and chips and husband had the flat bread pizza I think it was called. Got to meet the very nice new manager too.
Waitress was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. Servers were polite and efficient.
Food was great. Fun evening for a family of 4 and teenage guest.
Mussels were AMAZING. Beer battered fries have the perfect consistency. Ribs were just tender enough to fall off the bone, with great texture. Not too mushy.
When we arrived the restaurant was quiet. We enjoyed a drink and a delicious dinner. Dessert was fabulous.
Our server was friendly and sensitive to our needs.
I need to give this another chance. We went on Mother's Day not realizing that it was a buffet. It was pretty good, but definitely not for the cost of the meal. They really need to reevaluate their price. I'd like to go back and be able to order off the menu to really get the full experience.
Restaurant had a buffet dinner for Mother's Day but did not tell me this when I made reservations. Not sure if they have done buffets before but would appear not as the meal was not up to their usual great service/food. Buffet tables had spilt food on tables (looked like did not clean up behind messy patrons) and ran out of dinner plates and dessert plates with no one replenishing them without having to ask for a plate. Salad table was messy. Scalloped potatoes did not look appetizing; looked like sitting in oil. Food was tasty with good choice but not visually appealing.
Not good for Mother's Day buffet dinner. There was no mention on Open Table that it was a buffet. Expensive. Coffee and tea not included (normally would be with a buffet). Waiter talked us into the "bottomless mimosas" only to find out that they were not included (again, normally would be in a holiday buffet). So we basically paid $40 for 1 mimosa each. If that was the case they should have just charged us for the single mimosas. Food quality was the equivalent of a 3-star hotel wedding buffet. With tip, we paid $200 for two people to have a bad meal. Very disappointing.
We have been going to Blackhawk Grille for Mother’s Day brunch for years. Last couple of years the quality of the food has been going down. This year was the worst. Limited selection in food items and other than made to order omelet rest of the food was Denny’s quality. Definitely not worth $55. They even charged $4.75 for a cup of hot tea. In previous years, mimosa was came with the fixed price. This year $20. Ridiculous! Add to that tired wait staff who kept forgetting what you asked- $180 is a pretty stiff price to pay.
Food for Mother’s day buffet was good. Disappointed to be charged for coffee and juice. Usually buffets even include alcohol.
