The dinner was fantastic! I got the fried rice with filet and shrimp. My husband ordered the meat pizza. Very Good. Tuesday has $8.00 margueritas! Our server was Andrew and he was delightful and attentive.

Our server was attentive but didn’t interrupt too often. It was early so it was quiet in the main room. Food was very tasty and the martinis cold! Definitely will go back.

We took friends out for a dinner. Conch fritters were great as an appetizer. Three of the entrees were outstanding - Cobia, salmon and the scallops. However, the chicken cordon bleu was overdone. The manager asked and agreed. She offered to replace it with anything on the menu and comped the entree and a dessert. In my mind this is a very professional way to handle the issue. The triple chocolate dessert was delicious. We have been many times before and always enjoyed the food and service and we will go back.

Our first time to this restaurant. Upon arrival, we were greeted and shown to our table. Our wait person arrived with a smile and menus. My husband said the beef filet was cooked perfectly, and my crab meat pasta dish was fabulous. Will be back!

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary in St. Augustine and decided on the Black Fly for dinner. Oh my goodness! We felt like we had hit the jackpot! Our server, William, was not only very polite but was very efficient as well. The food was excellent to say the least! We will be returning to this treasure again. Thank you for a memorable anniversary ❤️

Service, atmosphere, and noise level were excellent. The only problem with the food is my wife's salmon was a little undercooked. Normally it is cooked medium, which is perfect. This time it was between medium rare and rare. Other than that the meal was excellent. Service was impeccable. Highly recommended.

Menu has gone downhill since it opened. Over salting of entrees & had grilled shrimp had to be sent back. Bread basket was terrible & no selection but dry stale baguette for 4 of us. Presentation has also suffered. Will not be returning except for the pizza.

Food and service were excellent. Waiter was knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. He apologized for food runner’s bringing entrees when appetizers and salads had just arrived. Fir to new staff. Waiter regularly checked to make sure all was well and to see If anything was needed. . Definitely will visit again. A+

This was our first time & went for my husband’s birthday with my cousins. Was NOT impressed with the food, at all. I had the Scallop dish which was so bland I asked for EVOO & pepper flakes, for taste. My husband & cousin had the surf & turf which was supposed to be with filet tips & shrimp & they had to cut the small pieces of filet with a knife & it was tuff. The shrimp was small & dried out. My other cousin had the chicken cordon bleu & the portion was very small. We were very dissatisfied & disappointed, especially since we heard fantastic reviews. Not sure if we’ll go back. But our server, Ireland, was an absolute doll. So attentive & on the ball. She’s a keeper. Thank you, Ireland.

Not too crowded on a Sunday evening so place was quiet. Menu is varied. Lots to choose from. Everyone in our party of 4 was very happy with their orders, from drinks to appetizers to salads, main courses and desserts.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Blackfly. I had the lobster and my husband had the Triggerfish. Both were cooked perfectly. The owner was on hand and stopped by the table 3 times to make sure all was to our satisfaction. They even threw in a complimentary slice of margarita pie which was wonderful. Our server was excellent as well. They are very busy so get a reservation. We will definitely be back if we head back this way.

Food and presentation excellent, service wasn't what we expected and needed help. Noice level was very loud and not what we expected for our Anniversary. The Blackfly didn't even acknowledge it. We even gave the restaurant a heads up of our 44 year anniversary.

We thought we would try a new place close to the City of St Augustine and was pleasantly surprised. On-site parking, a bar area with casual dining and an eclectic area for dining. Our server was friendly and attentive and the food was creative and tasty!

Firstly, the vibe in the restaurant was good. Unfortunately after that things went downhill. Drinks were missed, the wrong order taken, cold mash and just a little bit underwhelming. Drinks were ok but overpriced. To be fair I think was one of the servers first nights so everyone has to learn. Out of all my restaurant experiences in St Augustine unfortunately this one goes down as “not again”

We are locals here in St Augustine, so we have enjoyed the BlackFly numerous times. Their menu has changed, but there are still plenty of wonderful dishes to select from. Our party of three adults ordered the Bread Basket, which was good; we also ordered 2 appetizers of the Chili-Lime Shrimp, which are in my opinion THE BEST appetizer on the menu. My husband ordered the Filet, I ordered the Grilled Scallops over butter herb pasta, and my friend ordered the Sweet Tea Pork-chops, followed by a slice of Key Lime pie. EVERYTHING was amazing!! The only improvement we could suggest would have been a more attentive waitstaff. My friends tea glass became empty, we had to flag our waiter down after a long wait; Then the waitstaff forgot to bring out the refilled tea… Later on, our water glasses were empty, again after a long wait, we again had to catch his attention to ask for refills. Which he did refill, but with zero ice. Luke warm water… As far as noise level, this visit was much more enjoyable as compared to our past visit when the noise level was so “Energetic” that our table of 4 could not hear each other… so the evening wasn’t enjoyable. This evening we were pleased with the softness of sound.

The food was outstanding from start to finish. We started with lime, grilled shrimp as a starter, followed by tuna as one entrée and scallops with pasta as a second entrée. Key lime pie ending the night. Service was also great. We will be going back.

A little disappointing this time. It was a very busy Saturday evening 6:30pm. I ordered the coquilles st Jacques for appetizer.. excellent. But my pork chop was luke warm and the vegetables were cold. It had obviously been sitting for a while before being served. My wife ordered the fresh catch and it was very dry and the rice undercooked. Last time we eat there it was absolutely outstanding… so I’m just putting it down to a busy evening and an anomaly. We will try it again - because the first time was just excellent.. and we we live a few hundred feet away so it’s convenient. .. so I’m hoping this was just a one-off bad evening.

You guys, this place was amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever had better scallops. The artwork was pretty awesome, painted QR codes. And our server was outstanding. I can’t quite remember her name but she knew the menu very well and even helped us with recommendations. You have got to try these scallops with the pasta! And of course for desert, the winner is the chocolate brownie with ice cream and caramel drizzle. Had an amazing date night with my fiancé and will be back later this vacation to do it all again!
